The "Are you ok?" was plenty stupid and OOC for Mac considering how he ran towards her apartment in All Access and how caring he was after RND

Maybe he was relieved to see his Stella was OK. But at the same time, he should show more concerns. It was totally unnatural as you've said. I love the glare Stella gave her attacker at the ending. :adore: I believe...

You know what? i would undertand their strange behaviour now and even that dead line if later Stella is injured by the killer and Mac feels his world is falling apart. That's the only way i'd undertand and i'd accept what writers are doing now

This reminds me S2 when they cooled down their relationship after a wonderful S1. It was OCC the break between them but even in S2 we had jealous Mac! (Manhattan Manhut) and even after she was attacked by Franckie their relationship came back to normal

I forgot about the 'she's tough'- Well on one hand it shows how well he knows her ( I agree she IS tough) but on the other hand i don't understand. Everytime it came to Stella he was always over-concerned. I don't know what's going on with EP now. all my hopes got blown away.:scream: But I'm curios how Stella's story will go on. Hopefully Mac gets back to his old self!!
I agree with you Debbie, maybe there's something positive in it. Maybe it's their way to handle the situation...but it didn't use to be like that....the only hope I have left is that something has seriously changed!!! *crosses fingers*

I had thought the thing Stella was hiding from Mac was a knowledge of Lindsay's pregnancy, but after the attack and now spoilers suggest that her attacker will be back, I'm beginning to think the thing she hides from Mac is the identity of her attacker... That is a huge thng to hide... I can definitely see why he'd angry at her for not telling him and how it would cause huge tensions between the 2... I don't see why she doesn't have the guy arrested if she knows who it is... That baffles me a little... Well... I hope she has a really good reason for hiding whatever it from Mac, I don't see why she's starting to keep things from him now... They are usually totally open and honest with one and other... I hope the tension between them doesn't last too long... I'm still clinging to a tiny bit of hope that something good will happen between her and Mac by the end of the season...

This season is really annoying me, after the high season 4 ended on, with all of the great prospects that something could happen between Mac and Stella... This season sucks, they have had bearly any interaction and seems like this is going to continue, with added tensions... Come on TPTB, give us something good...

I just got done watching it again and I have concluded with a "NEW theory". I think it is too early for them to develope the smac because they said they were going to show more of the "Family closeness" which I think is playing out, that and some great writing. BUT to start SMAC right from the start might over shadow the development of all the other characters and I think they are going to "give it to us GREAT" down the road. They are trying way to hard NOT to play out Mac and Stella because I think they are saving it, which is fine because we are getting more Hawkes and Adam and Flack etc.. and they need to keep the two of them apart intimately because there IS so much chemistry! They are doing the same with Danny and Lindsey and I think in the end the D/L ship is Not the only one we will be talking about!! I think the Greek guy is going to be the one to bring out the feelings because he isnt going away, by the way they ended the show. And he is not done with her yet. The REAL danger lay ahead. Get your cape out MAC!

I can't either, Anj I mean we spent the whole summer saying we would have enjoyed watching some tension between them. But we thought their friendship was going to be there. Now they are not friends anymore. They act as strangers and besides we have the argument scene as the promo showed so. I have never seen to Mac so out of his mind when he asked "who's side are you at Stella?" and Stella didn't look much better

I think the same. The "Secret" will be related to that jerk. But we don't know if he is going to be caught on this eppy. We only know Stella hides things from Mac. Considering the tension between them i feel it as very plausible:shifty: If later Stella gets into trouble, Mac will be so upset (again!) She couldn't arrest the guy because he is a diplomat. He is untouchable as far i understand. There was an eppy on Law and Order :SVU were they arrest someone from an embassy but i don't remember how.
Also they were inside the embassy which made the arrest completely impossible because they were inside Greek territory as far it concerns

I agree with this and i'd understand they wanted to delay the whole Smac stuff but which i don't understand at all is why the heck they are destroying their friendship too. I trust Peter and John Dove and Pam as writers but i don't understand this lack of closeness between them. If they didn't want to put them together right now why on Earth they gave us Season 4? I think S4 was a pivotal season for a following Smacked Season. And S5 is so far away from being a Smacked Season. It's not a good way of saving the great couple they have in their hands and they are wasting. I mean, great they want to develope Smacked later but why to keep them apart as friends:brickwall::brickwall::brickwall: I can't find any explanation to this

They need to loosen Mac up abit. He is starting to seem a bit "stuffed". The self control on his concern for Stella was a bit much! It is almost insulting the way they are going out of there way NOT to have any relationship. I mean for being "partners for five years" and all we get is a nonchalant "are you O.K.?" and "Shes tough" what kind of friend is THAT! She said she thought she WAS GOING TO DIE DOWN THERE AND COME UP IN A BODY BAG !!! HELLLOOOO MAC!!!

EXACTLY! TPTB seem to be TRYING to make Mac and Stella not have a relationship! Stella thinks she could've died and all Mac can say is "you okay?" and "She's tough"? C'MON MAC!

Yep! I am extremely annoyed with this season. S4 ended with Stella being worried sick about a captured Mac. So much SMACk potential and they throw it out the window...

THANK YOU! I have this good feeling that SMACked is gonna become Canon on 5x11. It's on December 10th. I marked incase I'm right. It sounds amazing and I can't wait! That would make sense. Stella keeps the identity of the Greek guy who attacked her from Mac. She disspaears. They found out who attacked her and Mac finds her. It eventually leads to a kiss....*sighs*. Completely guessing but anyway....

Yay! Finally we're two followers from Germany .

well in fact we´re three, i´m from germany, too

okay i didn´t watch sason 5 yet, but i watched the last eppy of season 4 again yesterday.after what you all are telling me about season 5 i was expecting a little bit more.mainly when i´m thinking of scenes like the one on "Hostage" where stella saw macs car standing there and got to know from flack that mac is still in the building with this guy and she first couldn´t believe it and was worried about him. this was sweet. or in "the thing about heros"at the end of the eppy,where stella was the first one who came directly to him and asked him afraid if he´s okay.and of course" right next door".they were both taking care of each other, so many scenes where they showed this...:adore:
like you said before, they don´t have to get in a relationship directly but at least they should extent their frinedship, this is the most important at the moment, i can really wait for the first kiss as long as we get a few scenes that show us that there will be a kiss someday:scream:

Spoiler: Mac/Stella s5

I haven't seen any eps yet, but from what I've read there seemes to be a lack of closeness between Mac and Stella and also it seems there is going to be conflict/tension between them. I know there is going to be a fight between them soon re the budget issue, and of course Stella will hide something from Mac in 5 x 11, possibly about the Greek man. But I don't think the writers are aiming to destroy the M/S relationship. I think maybe they are trying to show that all relationships go through 'cool' periods, and periods of tension and conflict, especially long term relationships. If Mac and Stella have known each other for 10 years, a very strained period like this was going to happen sooner or later. I think there will be tension and some conflict between them for a few eps, and maybe even more of the 'distance' we've been seeing, but then something will happen, and they will come together again, stronger than ever. Mac's in danger in 5x 08, Stella possibly in 5 x 11, and Flack might be in trouble in 5 x 13. So I think sometime after 5 x 11, or 5 x 13, they will make up, come together to do something big (save Flack's job, maybe?) and then be even closer. The writers would be very, very stupid if they destroyed the M/S relationship. Even fans who aren't shippers like their friendship. I think they are just cooling it off a bit and throwing in some tension/conflict to make the relationship more real, and eventually, deeper. They did it with Lindsay and Danny in s3 (when she was hiding her past from him) and again with them at the end of s4 (after Ruben died) and now look - apparantly D/L are in love and having a baby as well - after presumably having make-up sex in 4 x 19. EP also put conflict in Mac and Flack's friendship in s3 with the Dean Truby storyline, but they resolved that a couple of eps later (Flack defended Mac to Gerrard in 4x 11, when he was trying to help Sheldon) and they came together to get Dobson at the end of the season, and Flack tried to help Mac in Comes Around. Also, there is the possibility that L's pregnancy will cause some tension/conflict between her and Danny. And Flack and Sam's relationship has conflict too (him being protective of her, her not liking it, her maybe getting in trouble etc). I think this season the writers are trying to shake up the solid relationships on the show a little. I just hope that when they do fight, it won't be like 'One is entirely right and the other entirely wrong' scenario, I hope they will be shown to both be both right and wrong. Like in Officer Blue. Mac should have told Stella why he wanted to save the horse, but at the same time, she should maybe have thought more about why Mac, who always put evidence first, was acting so different. I think she did realize that when they were in the stable with the little girl saying goodbye to Blue, and she felt bad about it. Back to the spoilers, I hope the M/S conflict/tension doesn't drag on all season, I think it will get boring. Hopefully it will last a few episodes then be resolved, and their relationship be developed in other ways as their friendship (and love) grows again.

I have a question - What do you guys think Stella and Claire's relationship was like? Personally, I think there was possibly some tension between the two. Stella is very close to Mac, and if she had a crush on him when Claire was alive, maybe Claire picked up on it and resented Stella for it. Or maybe she resented how much time Stella spent with Mac at work. Maybe sometimes she even felt like Mac spent more time with Stella than he did with her, especially when Mac and Stella worked major cases together. And maybe Stella found it hard to be around Claire because Claire was the one who 'got' Mac, she was the one he loved most and who was the most important woman in his life at that time. If she had a crush on Mac, it must have been very hard to know he was going home to Claire every night.

About the 'are you okay' scene in 5x05, I can understand why you are all so annoyed! It's totally OOC for Mac, especially after RND, All Access, and The Ride In. Mind you, in Veritas, EP did the exact same thing practically, with Stella. Yeah, she was v. relieved to get Mac's call, and she said he should go to the hospital, but that was it. No hug or kiss! Danny and Hawkes showed more concern for him than Stella did! And this after she was 'worried sick' about him in Hostage! Even in The Thing about Heroes, we got a 'You okay?' and an arm stroke! But I don't think Mac or Stella are to blame. They are just characters, and the OOC way they are behaving is being written, deliberately, by the writers (EP!) So the writers are to blame.:scream::scream::scream: But I think they are doing this for a reason, and Mac and Stella will eventually be closer again, maybe even closer than they were before. Conflict can bring couples closer. The writers are Evil People, sometimes, yes, but they are not SP's (Stupid People), and I am sure they are doing this distance thing with M/S for some reason. They cooled them down in s2 and s3, and we still got the Smacked Moments in eppys like All Access and COTP in s2, and in The Ride In, What Schemes May Come, and Snow Day. So don't give up hope, Smacked family. You guys got through Peyton and through s2 and s3 (I say 'you guys' because I had been a bad shipper and gone off Smacked during those seasons, though I choose to partly blame EP for that because of how they wrote the M/S relationship in those periods). I know we (I'm a Smacker now!) can get through whatever it is EP are trying to do this time.
And there are always those hungry lions, just waiting for a nice yummy piece of EP....:lol: I wonder if they taste nice?:lol:

Oh, and I am really so sorry I haven't been here much lately! I've been a bit busy with work (I have increased my hours, and we're understaffed at the library as well) and stuff. But I try to get on here about once a week. I haven't forgotten you, Smacked family!
Mind you, it seems all of us are a bit busy, the thread's seemed quieter than usual lately. I blame EP for the lack of Smacked, and also just RL (real life) in general. Don't know about you guys, but when it is winter, I always seem to be busier/tireder and have less time for fun stuff like this thread. Though I guess if there are any Australians/New Zealanders here, you guys are busy with summer.
