That's exactly what I've been thinking. Seriously, I don't think she'll last long. It just doesn't seem to be in the cards.

I don't know because i didn't watch previous seasons except some episodes of both shows but i do remember some scene with Calleigh and Eric sharing significatives stares long before they became into a couple and someone here mentioned kisses between Sarah and Gil previous S6

Just like Mac and Stella, but I think the relationship between Mac and Stella is so different than Eric and Calleigh's and Grissom and Sara. Mac and Stella have that je ne sais quoi that brings everyone in. They really know each other and the chemistry between them is just amazing.

yes, i asked that just to put on the table how Mac and Stella, without any significative change in their relationship (I mean the touchy part of course. Emotionally they have been a couple for years!) have this chemistry that enchants everyone around

Hi,

Being shipper Mac and Stella is a constant roller coaster. In one episode we are in the clouds, the next can be sprawled on the floor. More are persistent, raised floor, clean the dust and move on.

First of all when they introduced Nit that is the same way they did it! And who is to say she isnt a Drew Bedford type in the female form? They already said her role would be recurring and look what happened to the recurring Haylen Bacall! If they were serious they still have Gillian out there in TV land as a "Love interest". No matter how they intend to play this out they have already set the stage for Mac showing interest in Stella beyond a mere friendship. Remember even non shippers pointed out how he held her hand with the phone.So it was not just wishful thinking on our part of what we saw TPTB deliberately put that out there and have set the stage for Smack, no pulling it back now we saw what we saw no denying it. So there are many ways they can introduce this and I think we need to keep our heads about us and wait and see. Do you think when Mac is alone in thought he does not think of how happy he is when he is with Stella? What ever they try to do with this it will be another reminder to him of his feelings for Stella because she isnt going any where and she already has quite a jump on the new "love interest". They leave us to believe that M/S have gone through all they went through and Mac finally starts exploring his feelings for Stella (ten years worth mind you) and some new person comes along and all of a sudden Mac is totally turned off of Stella and attracted to the stranger? He wont miss his intimate friendship with her when he is with the love interest? He wont become lonely for Stella and the times they shared? She has brought happiness to him again and you just dont forget someone who does that for you so easily they always hold a special place in your heart. She gave him back his life two times Mac does not appear such a filippant personality to me and as far as needing someone to bring smiles to his life... a excuse me but that is already in progress. There just screwing with us again but this time it ainta gonna work and for sure it is not going to last trust me!!

Just droppin in to say I'm totally on the same page, couldn't agree more! At the moment I just haven't got the strength or the engery to contribute anything more to this. I'm so glad we all agree. I just can't take any Mac/Stella bashing, it hurts That's why I won't even go into particular threads. I can't believe people can be so cruel. I guess I'm taking this way too seriously but I just can't help myself.

I think they don't look into the more subtle signs. They're probably looking for the more obvious signs of affection like hugs and kisses so the only people who can see the smaller things are SMACK fans, the people who take the time to have a closer look and Psychology students... *raises hand guiltily at that last one*

I was really mad at first, but then... if it lasts as long as the other "rumours" did, then, it would be okay.

OK, here I am, 2 days later and still angry, frustrated, sad, feeling betrayed and not hopeful at all. :devil: Somehow it really hit hard (I never in a million years thought I could get THAT frustrated over some storyline turn in a TV show :wtf: - felt like I was betrayed by Mac. :lol - didn't sleep the first night. Going ballistic is over (right after I read this news, I could have killed someone, if not one of TPTB (too far :lol, then somebody in the spoilers thread ), but now I still have to deal with the fallout - I don't feel like waiting for Wednesdays any more and don't really want to watch any of the new episodes - nothing good to expect. Instant cure from an addiction! :lol:

But I gotta admit I'm getting tired too... they can't give us epsiodes like Death House and Second Chances and then suddenly come up with THIS! Don't they ever get anything? .... Trying to force new love interests on Mac again and again until something works out. ... I know in my heart that Mac will never have anything deeper with anyone except Stella. He cares for her more than he ever will for any other woman. ... Why do they so stubbornly refuse to see that Mac has had the perfect women right in front of him since day one?

That's exactly how I feel. Tired from all these short-lived flings. So NOT like Mac character which has been portrayed as a very devoted man, with long-lasting (if not forever) feelings.

I don't necessarily look at this as a bad thing for Smacked. I still go by the song "Broken Road" for them. "God bless the broken road that lead me straight to you". I think Mac and Stella will be together in the end, but its too soon right now. As much as I would love to see them together right now, I think it's probably best saved until the very last season of the show.

It's not too soon, it's way too late. They already had a number of these "broken bricks in the road" - if there were any plans to show some new understanding or jealousy or whatever - it could have been done before. Now it's like a broken record - going another round, and another, and another....
No need to wait till the last season - with characters who built up their relationship for 6 years and have such kind of understanding as here - there is no chance of break-up/make-up drama - they know each other too well. If TPTB would let them be together, we could get several years of slow realisation of "more than friendship" feelings for each of them; slow, but inevitable getting closer and closer; getting to know each other out of the lab too. All that with two amazing actors. - There is no time for all that in just a few episodes of the last season.

At any rate, I don't think this new romance will last long anyway. None of Mac's romances ever seem to last too long. :lol: I think it's probably because he's comparing all of these women to Claire (remember he even called Peyton "Claire" one time) and none of them can hold a candle to her in his mind. I think Stella is the only one who could fill Claire's shoes. One day Mac will realize that. Until that day comes, I will take Bon Jovi's advice and "Keep The Faith".

BTW, Mac calling Peyton Claire I took as a kind of word game - yes, Mac slipped thinking of Claire, but the actress's name is Claire too. :lol:
