"Lost and Found" Discussion *SPOILERS*

Firstly I'd like to thank the guy on the bus in NH for walking off that bus, after a 9 hour standoff with police, at 8:48pm. Interupt Survivor all you want but don't interupt my CSI!

The last scene with Connor hugging Nick was adorable. I hope someone makes a screencap of that. :D

Less than 24 hours, the Ward, I assure you. And yes... :adore: I liked it when he said, "You're a good boy" and then "Go on, you little CSI". :)

I may have it but I won't have it ready yet! (Got a trip to the vet in the morning)

Nick needed Connor after finding Andy's remains. Nick can handle anything but dead kids get to him. And Connor, you can have all the green lollypops you want.

Until they found the daughter alive they really had me thinking that the mother killed them all. :(

Once I saw the Connor I was thinking that the father got her pregnant. I had forgotten all about the uncle.

I don't think I want to go visiting at the Las Vegas police department for any reasons. She basically got that gun from him with 1 hand! :wtf:

Wow, I was surprised at how much I really liked this episode, but then again after I remembered who wrote it I know why.

Good screen time for all our CSI's. Nice to see Greg come in with the DNA results on Connor's paternity. Sort of reminded me of the old days. Glad they have not forgot that is his expertise.

I liked Brass knowing the woman. Nice to hear him mention Ellie.

I just thought this was a really well written episode overall and the story really kept me interested. 9 out of 10 from me on this episode.

Okay loved the episode however we lost power here for a minute but the time it took for the cable to come back made me miss some so I'm kind of lost.

I know the mother shot somebody but who?

Anyway onto the parts I did see....

Nick was so awesome this episode. The scene in the hospital when he's talking to the mother and she assumes that he doesn't believe in what psychics say and he said I've learned to keep an open mind made me think of Gum Drops and that scene with Sage.

Greg's thought to collect the hand print mold from the daughter shows what a good CSI he's become I thought.

Can't think of anything else at the moment....I may have to watch the episode again

Ok, I haven't seen the whole episode as I miss the first 15-minutes because of my new job and my brother and dog kept interrupting me.

However, I loved what I saw and I will watch the whole thing when I get home.

Brass, you really gotta love him.

It kept you guessing to the end. I thought it was the father who got his daughter pregnant and it ended up being the Uncle.

The wife shoots her husband for not protecting their children, but in a way he did. He couldn't do anything about Andy, but he protected his daughter. Even if he did go about the wrong way.

Nick and the little boy? :adore: The scene with the suckers? :adore: "Go on you little CSi" :adore: Connor was such a cutie.

I'm glad that Nick gets the scenes with the kids. He is so natural with them. I mean, really, only Nick and Catherine can pull these scenes off.

When they found the boy in the footlocker? :( I think Nick was definitely trying not cry. The way he just sorta walked away. Powerful!

That was a fantastic episode. Something about it just really grabbed me. It had classic CSI feel to it. I'm definitely going to agree with everyone saying that Elizabeth Devine needs to write more episodes.

I was surprised by the screen time Greg got. After last week's episode, I was sure we wouldn't see anymore of him this season. It was nice that he even stuck around after the halfway point too. His line about processing scenes alone on deserted highways was great. And I'm glad he played an important role in solving the case by collecting the daughters hand cast.

Nick was awesome here too. He really projects emotion well. When he found the boys body, you could really feel what he felt. Great stuff. And I agree with everyone about him and the child. He has a way with kids.

Brass was the best here. Just like Nick, he's great with emotional resonance. I really felt bad for him throughout the whole episode. This was really a sad one. But very enjoyable thanks to people like Paul and George.

Kudos to Ecklie here as well. He's come a long way since the pompous, arrogant CSI from the beginning. I liked how he wanted to do things by the book but didn't remove Brass from the case. He's still Conrad, but a more understanding Conrad.

The case itself had vibes from several previous episodes. The way the mother acted reminded me of "Still Life". And whoever said "Blood Drops", I completely agree with as well. The family situation also brought back memories of "Burden of Proof". Perhaps that's why I thought it had an old school CSI feel to it - it was channeling some past stories. Which is fine with me.

I've claimed previous episodes as my favorite of the season all season long. But this one... this one might actually be the real thing for me. It was sad but it was really good. That's all I can really say about it. An A+ episode.

When it finished i thought it could be a great season finale episode. No need blood, no need a CSI in danger... I loved the eppisode. Well written and almost everyone had their time. The story was touching. First they thought the mother could be the killer and in the end she really became a killer. I thought the uncle Bill is creepy in the begining just because the actor also plays a visitor in V .

Paul G. needs more story like that. He is a good actor. I liked the scene between him and Conrad. I like Conrad from the begining. Sometimes the story needs a different perspective like Conrad, that is why he is a part of the show i guess.

Nick and the kid. George was so natural in the scenes with the little kid, the kid didn't need to do anything extra.

Greg Greg Greg... Look how our Greg became a proffessional/mature CSI/person.The guy has grown up in front of our eyes.

Good grief, for a supervisor/female lead, I'm glad we get to see about 4 minutes of Cath/Marg every week lately.

That being said, it was a pretty good episode. Paul really rocked, and I actually really liked Nick in this one too. I thought he was really tender with Connor and found my heart melting a little bit. My mom was like "He has the cutest dimples."

Not much really to say. That was a sad case. The part with the little boy in the chest made me so sad, and the fact that the girl and her dad had to kill because they thought that the mom would never forgive the daughter. It was sad.

^Yeah.Catherine has less screentime then before. That was the low of the episode.

That said. The case was probably the best of the season. The story really got me becouse I felt for eveyone involved.I could understand why the daughter wanted to leave ,why her father wanted to protect her but the mother was a victim as well. And of course,I LOVE Brass is whatever he does.Really good episode overall.

I believe the daughter killed the son by accident when she hit him, and she and her father covered it up and left because they knew the mother could never forgive the daughter for killing the boy.

I still think it was pretty extreme for them to fake their deaths tho rather than just tell her what happened and deal with it...divorce then and leave or whatever. Plus, the way they did it, the uncle wasn't punished for what he did, so at least in the end it looked like he was going to get what he had coming....finally.

You're right. I completely meant that she accidentally killed him then had to lie. My bad.

It's still early.

I spent on a lot of time thinking about the motivations with this. I think from the father's perspective, had they confessed to what really happened, divorce would have been the least of his worries. From what I understand, the father was closer to the daughter. She was his world in a way. She would have been arrested for manslaughter or something and sent away. His marriage was already rocky so he probably didn't care to lose that. But to lose his daughter...

So I guess the crux of the issue is that the daughter would have been arrested so they fled. The daughter saw it in terms of her mother's reaction but I'm sure the father saw the bigger picture.

I have to agree that this is one of the best in the season. The case really grabbed my attention. I was glad we were not told everything at once. First they found the boy, then we knew the girl was alive, then that the father was alive, etc. It had a nice pace to it.

I also agree that we needed more Cath. But storywise it was amazing.

Gremine
I thought the uncle Bill is creepy in the begining just because the actor also plays a visitor in V .

Thank you!! I was going crazy trying to figure out were I knew him from!

I don't watch V, so I've seen him somewhere else. I could have sworn that he's been on Miami before.

I still can't believe how this episode played out. Much better than I thought it would be. I can't help but feel so much pity for the mother though. At first I thought maybe she did have...what did Langston call it, dissociative mental disorder, but after seeing her reaction to hearing her husband trying to save their daughter she just seems like an exhausted mother. I was watching the episode waiting for her to crack. In a way everyone involved with this case was a victim in some way.

I found this episode disturbing and upsetting, I cried. It delved into the depths of depravity. This whole family had issues they didn't handle, and were all guilty of a wrong doing with the exception of the little boy, who by no fault of his own ended up dead.. So horrifically:( I never cease to be amazed by the fantastic writers who continually present the fans with these riveting stories.

Brass who tells Nick about the family who vanished 3 years prior, and had suspicions about the bro-in-law Bill but he had a solid alibi. And has been in touch with the mom Janet, who had no idea what happened to them, and has been searching and wandering at night trying to find some resolution. The car crash with some reckless girls out partying and hit her. Nick visiting her in the hospital He's so kind and caring "You probably pity me" Nick: "NO, I don't pity you, if I lost my whole family" Janet tells him she contacted a physic and people thought it was a lot of Hocus Pocus. Nick: "I've learned to keep an open mind" She said that the physic said "Andy is dry, but yet near water" She has fantasies of a small body of water with Andy calling her:confused:

Wendy finds old blood on the flashlight~

Ray and Cath go back and find that when the family disappeard Janet was at work. Nick and Greg perplexed on the whole case~

Ray shares his theory that maybe her personailty splintered because of the guilt and that's why she wandered the desrt at nigh [LF is amazing and so great in this role as Dr. Langston, he's so beliveable and convincing when he speaks. I'm so glad he's on this show];)

They go back to the house and start poking around Greg find a diary and Emilys writings abruptly stopped and he finds a little plaster of paris of her hand print hanging on the wall [key later]~

Nick finds that Janet still subscribed to ZOO PLANET he goes "It looks like she just stopped living the night her family disappeared" and in her diary she wrote that someone said "how special I am", lord it was not a boyfriend but her twisted Uncle Bill:(

Brass takes Janet for a walk, "You think they're dead don't you"? I always felt that Andy got away" She also says to Brass "Would you ever give up on Ellie"? he goes "She gave up on me"~

Scum-bag brother-in-law Bill drops by while their processing the house and acts like everything is hunky-dory.. EWWWW:klingon:

Ray and Nick spray luminol all over the garage and find blood on the ceiling they go up to a crawl space, find a foot locker/trunk This was so abominable I was shocked and screamed and cried. When Ray opened the trunk there was the skeletal remans of Andy and Nick' expressions :( So in a dry place by some water [a leaking water pipe}~

They call Brass and he tells Janet she screams "NO, he was with me all this time"

The autopsy room with Doc and Ray, Ray: Ya' know Doc I'm against the death penalty, except when it comes to people who kill children" Doc: "THey should be tortured first then guillotined"~

Enter Icky Ecklie, he thinks Janet did it Brass:"'She's been through hell" s Eckile goes in with Nick to ask her questions, he's so cold. Nick asks Janet about the foot locker "She said they used it for camping" the she sees Icy Ecklie giving her the cold stare and is appalled and goes "You think I killed my little boy, my daugther and my husband.. so sad, poor woman:( Everthing she says is so grippiong and how "this is making me crazy" Ecklie is silent and Nick is upset~

Ray find fingerprints on the trunk five are the dads Mike and one no match when they run it through againi, comes up Emily's,:wtf:~ The Greg remebers that hand plaque [good job Greg]~

So they find that the dad and Emily are in Reno, they changed their names but not their birthdates. The find her leaving surround her and a little boy is in the backseat, so I think we all assumed it was the dads and hers. The bring them back to Vegas. Nick is so cute with the little kid and plays a 'what color lollipop do you want":)

Cath gets DNA from Emily but won't talks about the "father"~

Brass with Janet, "I want to see Emily now" Brass "It's gonna be a while" He teels her about the boy she freaks out and goes "That can't be" The Marsh husband turns himself in and says "I did it" and let Emily and the boy go Janet hears this grabs a gun and shoots him OMG, I screamed again:wtf: Brass, Cath & Emily are all in shock and horror. Ray to Nick 'I don't get it why did he turn himself in"?

Emily tells Cath " I told my mom I didn't want Uncle Bill coming over anymore" She said "I was ungrateful it was her house, and Emily goes "everything was her fault" Andy saw Uncle coming out of Emily's room and she goes "You'd think beings I was pregant he's leave me alone but no' so Andy threatned to tell their mother he was taunting her and it escalated and to shut him up she slammed the flashlight over his head:brickwall:The dad omes home she tells him everything so they take the body up to the attic and put him in the foot locker. "I love my bother, and I'm so sorry" Brass tells Janet that no charges will be filed against Emily but the mom did favor Andy. Could never talk to her. This all happened because "I couldn't forgive her, I hope someday she'll learn to forgive me":(

Poor puzzled Brass so mystified and upset and sad. They arrest Bill sicko.:vulcan:

Nick brings the boy to his mom with another sucker, and he hugs Nick so sweet. "You a good boy, now go you little CSI"

Brass take the old photo drops in in the file~

Talk about a dysfuntional bunch of people. To think the dad and daugther would let the mom suffer and wonder where they were for 3 years so deplorable, coniving and showed lack of common decency. A really riveting dynamite episode but I felt so sad and upset when it ended~
