Hrockz

Coroner
Author's note: This is a collaboration between myself and EyeHeartH. It's H/Y of course, hope you fic readers out there all like it.
Setting: This is set sometime post Season 3.

Horatio lifted his head from the microscope and recorded his findings in the file next to him. There was an annoucement over the PA. He had a visitor at reception. It was a slow day in the lab, and he almost had the case closed. He snapped off his latex gloves and headed towards reception. Probably a relative of a victim. He stopped at the reception desk.

Horatio: Someone here to see me?
Paula: Yeah. Someone you know.
Horatio (looks up to the direction Paula's nodding towards): Yelina?

Yelina had anticipated her return to the US and everything that she regretted leaving. As she pulled up to the crime lab, her heart began to race. This is it, she told herself. Don't chicken out now. When the only thing that brought her back from Brazil emerged into the lobby, she couldn't help but smile.

Horatio: Yelina?
Yelina (walking over toward Horatio): Horatio.
Horatio: How have you been? What's up?

Horatio: How have you been? What's up?

She was the last person Horatio expected to see. Of all the nights he had spent trying to forget her. She's happy in Brazil with Ray, he told himself over and over again. And he should be happy for her. As long as she was happy, he could live with himself for sending her away with his brother. It was good to see her. And seeing her brought back memories and feelings he had tried so hard to forget. She was smiling, but didn't answer his questions.

Horatio: I'm sorry. Perhaps we should go somewhere quiet to talk.

Horatio led Yelina outside the crime lab, and they stopped at the staircase landing. He turned to face her.

Horatio: It's been a long time. How have you been?

Oh wow! Yet another fantastic present for us H/Y-holics! Thanks you guys! :D

Hush, that's a really brilliant ava!

How great is it that the taskforce gets to talk about protecting H/Y & torturing Stetler in 3 stories?! OMG!!

Yelina had to take a moment to compose herself, as she knew that Horatio was probably just as nervous as she was. She took a deep sigh and looked straight into his ocean-blue eyes.

Yelina: It has been a long time. I've...missed you, Horatio.
Horatio: And I've missed you. What brings you back home?

Yelina took a deep sigh. Home. It felt so great to be home. It felt so great standing next to the man she felt the safest with. However, there was the ever-present tension that always hung around when they were alone like this, and she hated it. This time, though, she felt the tension even greater than normal. He's keeping something from me, she told herself.

Yelina: It's a long story. Should we continue this over dinner, at my place?

And what exactly is that supposed to mean? ;)

*raises hand slowly* I'm in trouble aren't I? :( ;)

Anyway H/Y is a healthy "obsession", it doesn't kill you! Smokin' does! Drinking does! :p

Smokin' hot that is. Hopefully it won't kill you, because it's what H/Y is all about.

A collaboration! Woohoo, a new place for us Crazy Task Force members to trash and call our home. Loving it so far, guys, and can't wait for more.

Maybe it's time for some group therapy.

Hehe, I'd feel sorry for the therapist who took us.

Yelina's offer was tempting, but he wasn't sure if he should take it up. It was only dinner with his sister-in-law he reasoned. Nothing more.

Horatio: Is Ray Jr here? What about Raymond?
Yelina: (sighs) It's a long story, better over dinner.

Horatio wasn't sure, it's just dinner. Of all the nights he spent thinking about her. It's just dinner, perhaps he would be able to catch up with his brother and nephew. Besides he could sense something was up with her. There was always this connection between them.

Horatio: Umm.. I er, I have plans for tonight. But er, I could drop by maybe by about nine? Where are you staying?

He has plans? Yelina's heart sank to her stomach when she heard him say those words.

Yelina: Oh, um, I got my old place back. And nine o'clock would be great.
Horatio: I can't wait.

Yelina smiled at Horatio, trying to get any vestige of his former self out of him.

Yelina: I'll...see you at nine, then.
