Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

I've read better teeny fan fiction!

'Felony Flight' and 'Manhattan Manhunt' were the highlight of the Season for me though. H, Mac and Stella working together. That was great! :D

Liz, could you get Freeview in Cambridge? :)

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Hear! Hear! But only for sub plot lines. The main theme, the crimes, what's going on in the lab have been good. I'm still convinced that 'Under Suspicion' is Emmy material for DC for acting and for the show cinematography. Astounding bit of work there and all due to the writing. Gotta give credit where it's due.

But subplots! Fooey! Bring in someone H can actually have a relationship with - give and take. Bring back Calleigh's dad! Give Delko a brain when it comes to sex!

Any thoughts on this?

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Personally, I think the main themes and subplots have been very disappointing in Season 4. Compared to the first 3 seasons, the writing has been of a very poor standard.

I have found it hard to give the show credit for anything in Season 4 (apart from Frank's increased screentime and the fact that the show still looks great). I find that so regrettable, as CSI:M has been my favourite tv show for 3 years, prior to the 4th Season. There are currently much better tv shows out there, far more worthy of critical acclaim. Sorry to seem so negative, but those are my honest thoughts. I am remaining hopeful though, that it finds it's feet again in Season 5. :)

I think I would rather H stayed single, but I agree with the other two points! There are some interesting points posted over at the Season 5 Wishlist Thread that are along these lines too. :)

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Yeah I may look into freeview, when I move :)

Oh I will correct myself we have 'Sex and Taxes' tonight, I like this eppy, nice H one, it almost goes back to an early H, where he really feels for the kids and he's so gentle with them but also can't shift from the truth.

Great ending line too:
Dad: "Idon't have much faith in the system anymore, by the people for the people, do you think they even care about the people anymore?"
H: "Some of us do, some of us do!"

That is the real H, please find your way back :(

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

I like 'Sex and Taxes' too - I'm watching it as I post this! H looks so good in this episode. :D

...and there were some great H/Frank scenes!

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

I watched 'Sex and Taxes' earlier too. It was so refreshing to see the 'real' H again. Season 4 has played havoc with my H mindset. He is just not the same. What happened to the H I had the pleasure of watching this evening? I hope Ann D and co realize that their 'tweaking' has not paid off. Leave H alone!

Lovely pics Luce. Thanks much. :D

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Hmm...thinking about yesterday's episodes FF/MM, I noticed at one point, H had an edge in his voice when he spoke to Lydia(the dead woman)'s husband. He sounded agitated, well, yes H's angry that he didn't explain everything he should one year ago but if it's H, he will remain calm and in fact, he'd sound intimidating in a cool manner. The one I heard yesterday sounded as though he wanted to provoke an argument. Anybody else felt the same way? Or it's just me?

And liz over here it's the same. We get the latest CSI and CSI:NY but not CSI:M :(

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

I watched "sex and taxes" too, I was watching this one scene were Frank and H were interviewing the dad I think and for some reason I pictured them singing a duo together

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Ah yes, some great Frank and H scenes in this eppy :D

I like the one where they are arresting the dad, and H asks him not to put the handcuffs on cause of the kids

H: "Frank, No bracelets"

That is the real H again, protecting and caring for the kids, plus it always makes me chuckle that they call the handcuffs 'bracelets'!!!

Also H calls Calleigh "Ma'am", it gives me shivers whenever he says that, it is so sweet ;)

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

So, hsn't anyone seen 'Under Suspicion?' Didn't you think it was the best ep ever?

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

Yes, I've seen 'Under Suspicion' and while I thought it was one of Season 4's better episodes, it doesn't rank up there with CSI:Miami's best episodes, not by a long, long way in my opinion.

I thought it was very moving when H saw that the victim was Rachel. His expression was heartbreaking, and his scene with Alexx at the morgue was genuinely touching too. H had tears in his eyes. Aw. :(

However, there were many plotholes all the way through. An example would be the fact that H gave his badge and gun to Eric and was supposed to remain uninvolved with the case. He managed to more or less get himself involved every step of the way! Dresden having H's blood was also way too far fetched. There are other examples, but I think the CSI Files review sums it up pretty well here. :)

DC's acting was great in this episode though, as always. :D

Yes to the first part, but no to the second. ;)

I quite liked 'Under Suspicion', but it had many flaws. I also found it rather melodramatic in places. DC's performance was very good indeed, but episodes like 'Dead Woman Walking', 'Blood Brothers', 'Big Brother' and 'Witness To Murder' were much better episodes I feel. :)

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

The editing in Under Suspition was some of the worst editing of all time in Miami.

Re: Horatio's Thread #5 - Will The Real Horatio Please Stand

ok this epi "Under Suspicion" wasn`t so bad as the rest epis from S4. but for me here too have a lot ridiculous parts. most funny moment was when Cal take DNA sample for H...to big unnecessary drama...a lot like in epi 'From the Grave' and H at the church...this for me is not mine real H... so helpless and confused...

but still think that if CSI M writers was develop more good this NY H past (not this soup with Aerosol) thing can be better in S4...

this meeting H and the girl from NY was a little interesting - that he still protected her and we for one moment see ours saint H . when he hit the bad guy too was good - hope more often in S4 H to lose his nervous. but this plot with dead girlfriend blah...to quick jump...we have H S 1-3 character and now in S4 what we have ?! one mysterious and selfish person...but this all is my own opinion.

the truth is that i like H/Franck and Alexx scene. for my regret this was one little part of good team/friends work for all S4, hope in S5 to see more H/F/A/Stetler moments ...

love the way Franck was feel uncomfortable to ask questions to H :D

F: Okay, uh...Where were you last night?
H: I was with you.

H: Can I go ?
F: Of course you can go.

A: Cared about her, didn't you ?
H: She was a great lady.

D: So Horatio really cared about this woman.
F: Would be the first one since Yelina.

F: Hello, Horatio.
H: Sorry I was late. What've you got ?
F: They, uh...they found your blood in Rachel Turner's apartment, Horatio. And right now I can't explain it. No idea ?
H: No.
F: What about Yelina ? She disappeared.
H: Frank, wh...wh-what are you asking me ?
F: I just, uh...I just want to know where she is.
H: Frank, she is...She's safe from harm.
F: I want to believe you, Horatio. All right.
H: If it helps, uh, you can check with the police union. She just filed papers.
F: - Yelina retired ?
H: Yeah.
F: Where did she go ?
H: Frank, she's with her family and she's happy.
F: Look, Horatio...
H: It's okay.

yes the way writers do it (i still can`t believe that H was beseech this judge for help and understanding - this is not H that i know ), but in the real life exist this type personal 'crash ' and only victim is the justice. this look like epi. "Cop killer" when in the end prosecutor's office make deal with the bad guy.

These lines were said by Ryan and Calleigh. ;)
