"Ghost Town" Discussion *SPOILERS*

love seeing super dave and sara have a scene together:thumbsup: but what was up with sara after saying "fine what have u heard" ??? is there something going on

This is my interpretation: The scene with Dave and Sara occured RIGHT AFTER he had confided in Nick that he occasionally watches this porn station with his wife (the one that is filmed in the house where they are investigating the murder). So, when Sara asked Dave "How's your wife?," his nervous self thought, "Oh, God! Maybe Nick told Sara what I told him!" So, instead of replying, "Fine," he blurted out something that revealed that his mind was on his previous conversation and whether or not it was a good idea to have revealed so much.

I thought that scene was hilarious -- all the way through, from the revelation itself to the comment to Sara. And so human! So real. These are the type of moments in CSI that make me think it has some of the BEST writers on TV.

lol, that was one of my favorite scenes throughout the episode! Dave seemed so nervous after confiding in Nick :p it was adorable, and Sara's brief expression after was priceless  I'm glad Dave's getting some more screen time than before!
and in response to something said before, I too think that this episode takes place right after the first. one episode of CSI is over the course of a couple days, who knows maybe a week, so I think they would just be continuous

A very nice mixture of intrigue and tension. I liked this one a lot. Yeah it was pretty obvious who did it, based on the fact that he hugged her I was already thinking "why did he hug her?" bet it was to get blood evidence on himself....

This episode had the feel of older seasons, which was great. Sara is amazing breath of fresh air and breathing life into the show again... I do still desperately miss Grissom even after all this time, and having Sara back brought it home to me really.

I love CSI, and people come and go and sometimes you don't miss them but I want Grissom back! lol.

Anyway.. the Dr. Jekyll case is interesting, quite a nice one for Ray. Nice little dark twists in there. I was intrigued as to why Nick would sit through the DVD of the interview, almost as if he was looking for something, as if he wasn't easy or settled by the end of the case...

Releasing the hounds, err I mean the thread. :p
Please feel free to continue the discussion. ;)

Just watched this episode. Really enjoyed it, even though there wasn't enough of Catherine.

It did feel kind of wrong though that Catherine wasn't majorly involved with the Millander boy since she and Gil were the main workers on that case.

I did like Sara at the end taking the boy home. That was good :D

The episode was okay, reminiscent of earlier seasons. Tons of Sara and Nick, but that's understandable and predictable. At least Nick can be just Nick again, last season he tried to be the character that made us remember of Warrick, Sara and Grissom and he was beginning to lose his own personality. Sara will always be the one with the bleeding heart and that's okay, Nick doesn't need to be her. Their scenes together were balanced, as always have been. I've missed these two.

I still can't with Langston, why does he always sound like he is lecturing people? He was right about the others being biased about Millander's son, but the way he speaks, I don't know, he comes as patronizing most of the time.

i agree. Grissom had a right to be authoritative and nobody minded him being the boss and sounding like one. TPTB want to make Langston more in charge, from what i've read, but it might backfire. people who are bossy/patronizing without reason of being so are very annoying. lol

and Langston has no experience, and no matter how many classes he takes he won't elevate himself in rank above anybody on the current CSI team. i guess the trick is for TPTB to find the right balance, where Ray is hands on but still likeable.

I agree---the episode felt right to me. I was pretty disappointed in most of last season where it seemed as though the writers were floundering and there was no cohesion to the team. Having Sara back, even for a while might help them to bridge the gap between Team with Grissom/Sara/ Warrick and New Team without them. I wished that Grissom would have stayed on for a few more episodes to sort of seal the team together a bit more before he left, but bringing Sara back seems to be serving just as well.

Question: We all know that Paul Millander adopted Craig. But what about Craig's mom? Was she his birth mother who had already had him by the time she met Millander, or did she and Millander both adopt Craig? I can't recall that being made clear, but I'm guessing it was the latter. If so, that's another layer of deception on Millander's part, since I doubt he would've told her why they couldn't conceive. Would that explain her reaction to Craig being arrested, and her lack of trust in him? I know a parent who adopts a child is supposed to accept that child as his or her own, but given her seemingly fragile personality and shattered life with the man she thought was her husband, I wonder if she's having second thoughts now. It would also explain why, given Sara's own family/foster child experiences, she bonded with him the way she did.

I find absoutely NO fault at all with Dr. Langston, and quite the contrary on his 'lecturing' people he's so soft spoken and cool and laid back, and a great listener. He's receptive to everyone and has somehow even gotten on the good side of Icky Ecklie and jealous Hodges. A good pick, in my opinion, and I'm a avid Grissom fan, and do still hope he makes an appearance..soon~

I agree with your assessment of Ray. I think his behavior is very much in keeping with the character, whose previous careers included being a physician and a university professor. All his actions/reactions are very consistent with those professions, and it's not like he's going to drop his prior perceptions and experiences just by becoming a CSI. Yet I can also tell that Ray is aware of this and is making an effort to hold back a little, in recognition of his "newbie" status. But he also knows that his background gives him a unique perspective, and so he offers that up whenever needed.

After worrying about Jorja Fox's return, I find I am ecstatic because this Sara is the Sara we knew from early in the series. No more whiney, jealous creature, happy to be in Grissom's shadow. Sara is strong and confident, very professional and much wiser than last time we saw her. I'd be happy to see her stay permanently - as long as Grissom stays away, because Sara should be more than just an echo of Grissom. Sorry if this is not exactly about this episode, but it took seeing her in this latest episode to assure my confidence in the new (old) Sara.

Sara is strong and healthy and happy because of GRISSOM, not a shadow of him, their equals, and he's made her the happy girl she is now. When you get something you want, it makes you fulfilled, contented and satisfied. And I hope he visits soon and we all get to see him again. I loved the subtle hints of him on both episiodes. I like that she is so good with kids, the poor tortured boy and his horrific childhood, and her stellar listening abilities with him. Maybe we'll see him again~

I agree with both of you. I think Sara is stronger because unconditional love will help you in that way; having someone else be confident in you can bolster you own self-confidence. And, when you're loved so completely, you feel good, and then that turns into a circle that perpetuates more goodness . . . if that makes any sense. So I agree that Sara is happy in great part because what she and Grissom have together makes her happy.

But I also like seeing her on her own, only now she's not needy, but strong, happy and confident. Grissom is in the background, but it's Sara we see. It's been good to see her so much like she was that first season, only now a much more mature version of that happy, contented person.

I did like this episode.....but am I the only one that feels that there was too much Ray again? At the layout table I felt the was taking the role that Grissom would have taken....he comes off as too much in charge. Shouldn't that be Cath's job? I felt her and Greg were not in this episode nearly as much...

The CSI Ray show continues this season.......
