Found a copy at Barnes & Noble. It's a great article about what happened, the surgery, his recovery and how he works out now.
Finally found the magazine! I scanned it, both article and pics, and posted in the Ward here if anyone wants to see.

it might be faster if we used pigeon carriers :guffaw:
I'm so glad he's okay.
And Maverick is still around, that's great for a Lab. And I'm sure it's because his 'daddy' take him to the best vet clinic in all of LA!
And I'll still stand on this point-had there been universal health care, George would have not have suffered as long as he had..
Then again..he is stubborn, he probably didn't want to go the doctor. MEN!

You know I've been thinking about this. I know he didn't have the money to go to the doctor and probably thought it wasn't that serious, but...
if he did and it showed that his back was broken, I'm sure his parents would have paid for his treatment. Of course, his step-father is a doctor (albeit a OB-GYN), but still, I'm sure he could have gotten George looked at.
I'm sure it was his stubborn Texan pride that kept him from doing that. Wanting to make it on his own and I admire that, but geesh next time get it checked out.

Oh I agree with you Speedy, his parents are well off and would have gladly taken care of his back.
So it was pride and toughness that became his undoing.
