Ok I have no idea where to post this, so I'll do it here :)

I want to write a fanfic, I have written a few before, but this one is a musical (yes I siad it) and it's CSI: Miami.

i was wondering if anyone has written a Musical Fanfic before, and if so how did it go, and if not, sound like a good idea?

I'm only asking, becouse I'm having writers block, and need a little push to get me going.

I wrote one here's the link. It's all three CSI shows. There's no real plotline, just little songs I wrote for it. I'm obsessed with the Buffy musical and have wanted to try a CSI one for a long time and I just did it this way because I couldn't think of a storyline. And most of the songs are couple-y. :lol: I can't think of things that rhyme with lab equipment and such. :lol:

ooh you wrote songs for it... I was just going to use premade ones...

well I'm trying, it's hard, I may put out a quicky fic just to get things going.

I'm just afraid that after I write it and post it, it will read very cheesy, but i'm going to try and not dwell on it, and just do it...

Ok I can't find the kind of fic I want and I've never written one before so would someone want to write one with me? I want to do a story where Speed was deep undercover and no one knew not even Horatio. Any takers?

Well, I'm not really good at writing living Speedle. I've only written ghost Speedle (in dreams, not actually someone seeing him in waking hours lol). But, feel free to bounce ideas off of me if you want. I'm definitely willing to beta your story and give you advice and stuff if you need it. I'm sure you'll do fine though. :) There are a lot of online resources for ideas, opening paragraphs and what not (called "story starters" or something similiar). I could PM you the links to some sites if you want.

Shameless bit of self-promotion! Have a collaborative fanfic going at the moment called 'Rectification'. I'm writing it with another board member, CathWillows10 (aka My Twin lol) It's a CSI Vegas story, kind of a continuation of the miniature killer story line, but set in the current season (post Grissom's departure)

It's being posted here, and also on fanfiction.net.

I should add a precaution, not to discourage anyone from entering.

Given that the CSI fandom on LJ is primarily GSR fans, it's hard for nonGSR fans to win. The Love Fans have done okay, but if you are neither, it will be hard to win. Even though the categories are separated, if writers who are well known in the GSR and the Love world enter, they normally win. The mods are GSR fans themselves, and often times they win. It's not a very fair competition.

I don't anyone to get discouraged, but the reality is CSI fanfiction is primarily dominated by GSR fans, the next highest proportion being the Love Fans. Anyone and everyone else will find it tough to win in any category.
