Does anyone know why Britain, Ireland, Germany and France never have to participate in the semi-finals?

I heard that Britain, Germany and France pay such an crazy amount of money to the eurovision to organise it each year that they go to the finals even if they come in at last place or get no points.

OMG! Our country embarrassed twice! First with our rediculous drum song from Trebble. Than by our cabaret representative who was totally hitting (for fun I think) on the presenter.
But he was fun tho. Thats how Paul is  and for some reason I found the will and grace comment pretty funny.

Thanks :D

The Will and Grace comment was funny. When he said that I thought: Hey it kinda looks like it, yes. :p

Congratulations to Finland and well done to Lordi! :)

I did watch the beginning of the contest (cringes at the UK entry ) and I did vote for Lordi - it was the only reason I watched it. But I missed the end announcements. :(

No problem :D. The guy needs to be shirtless more often. Has anyone else seen the singer from Iceland lose it? Supposedly she threw a huge hissy fit and she insulted a bunch of people too. It was all over the Greek news .

^  I only saw their song. Mr. Lordi aka Tomi Putaansuu said in one interview that Iceland was pulling their show 24/7 and it eventually turned against them so I am not surprised. I have to do little research.
My Greek is *cough* bit rusty :p

We voted for Finland! We had a little Eurovision party just to see Lordi XD I've never voted on a ESC - not even watched one right through - but we did it this year because of Lordi :D We cheered and screamed so bad when they won

I also really liked the entries from Latvia, Romania and Lithuania too. It was one of the best ESCs ever :D

Belgium won 20 years ago, it was funny and everybody remember the song.
I do remember some of winning songs but no a lot.
But it's not funny anymore, because we feel everything is biased.
The songs are in english, and I think it's a shame because it's not the first language of most of the european countries.
Maybe I grew up and I now think it's ridiculous and a waste of time.
But it's just me.

i am so happy that finland won! but one thing that i whant to say! i like silvía Nótt! she is verry funny! its not realy funny for people who are not from iceland id it???? becaouse i think this is more about a personal joke in iceland that she has maked and i realy think she is soooooooo funy! but i whant to know what you all think!
:p

Congratz to Lordi for winning this year. They were very awesome. :D I love the music.

Ah, been listening to their earlier album "Get Heavy" and esp "Devil is a Loser" and "Would You Love a Monsterman"

I go to see them to Helsinki on Friday  It wasn'tplanned but I go to south anyways on Friday because go to theatre with my sis on Saturday (to Helsinki) so we go to see Lordi's party/concert there :D

I heard that Iceland's girl had called Carola "the worst bitch" I guess her "funny" went bit over the normal sense of humour. Inside jokes don't always work in public.

I laughed this morning when I saw pic from yesterday's pressconference where our Prime Minister was with Lordi

Lordi and PM of FInland

He is doing "the devil" In our own newspaper had that pic from better angle, that pic is from Helsingin Sanomat
It's really fun, because our PM is very calm and dry person with stuttering when he speaks
