Wojo, I've said it before and I'll say it again..YOU ROCK! Yes, all caps was necessary there.
The scene from Grissom's office though, no matter how many times I watch it, I still feel bad for Greg, I think it's a combination of Greg just being tired, not just physically but mentally and emotionally as well, plus there's a little relief mixed in (until well, that garage), but still, there is a definite change there (not that that is unexpected), especially with what he said to Grissom, it had that hint of sarcasm that said that he wasn't taking what Grissom said as a compliment.
I think the only way I can describe it is it's as if someone has turned Greg's bright light to dim, (I really hope that made some sense) I think that eszmanda_luver put is perfectly by the word numb..so much emotions that the brain almost shuts them off to protect itself, like Greg, right now, probably can't get really happy or really angry.
Eric really is doing such a great job with this, it's a fine line to walk with emotional storylines, and Greg is such a dynamic character, just a little bit of a difference can speak volumes and he's doing it wonderfully.
If there is anything in here that is considered spoilery, I'll edit it out.
