Episode # 411 ' Payback ' ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

I hope their ratings continue to fall. I love the show, I watch it religiously but if the writers think they can pull this off, then they had better lose a few ratings as a consquense. I guess my expectations are a little high of the show now, and there is a reason for it. They had some excellent episodes in season 2, and 3, and even in season 1 which is why we expect more from a show which has already impressed its viewers. This episode should be burned from the series. I mean..when the box sets come out, are you really going to watch that episode?

I think it was dry, lame, boring, and just plain stupid. They can do better than that. Thumbs down, and I give it out of 10, a 0.003. Horrible. Dissapointing.

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

Agreed. The way things are going, I won't even be buying the Season 4 DVDs.

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

I didn't watch the whole episode just the part were eric gave natlia her bracelt but then it wasn't even her braclet. I dunno i'm glad I gave up this show.

I haven't liked Calleigh since like.....the middle of season 3 but whoa GO CALLEIGH! I loved it when she yelled at Boa Vista!

But I talked to my sister late last night and she said that the secret was that there was a mole. Well good lord we already knew that. Well some people did. But anywho yeah this show so far isn't making me regret leaving it behind.

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

Wow i am in the minority here because i actually liked the episode, and i don't think that calleigh dislikes Nat, I think they just don't know each other well enough.
But they seem civil enough and in that one part while calleigh said her peace on the subject there didn't seem to be any hmm dislike in the conversation, as to Nat questioning Calleigh, if she wanted to help the best way is to discover what you can about the case. They both seemed Professionally friendly IMO.

Do i think that Nat should have done the press conference, i don't think she had to speak, but the fact that there are things regarding the grant we don't know about makes it difficult. Also thinking about this i don't blame her either she was proud to help bring justice, someone in prison for something they didn't do, and from the conversation with calleigh sounds like he was convicted on a lot of little evidence, that couldn't completely exclude him.

I am sorry but in a way calleigh was both right and wrong, while the press conference did bring a light on the lab, it also brings into fact that they are not perfect and that there was a time when certain testings were not available that is now.

Eric and Nat hmm *shrug* as long as they keep it off the screen in my opinion i don't have a problem with it. But in reguards to her dating, i don't see a problem with it, alot of co-workers date each other, some discover their better friends, besides they eluded to something sexual they didn't actually say it as far as i can remember, so heck they could have just made out, or they could have fallen asleep (alternate thoughts).

As to Frank and Nats argument that may be something that will come out later on. It could also be that he didn't like the fact that she got the guy released and though it might have been off camera gave that impression. Again i hope they bring it to light.

Re: The mole, nope i don't think that its nat myself, only because as ryan said, it was someone from the lab, that they really trust, and is really close to them. Nat is way to new. besides she was way to surprised to find there is one, and didn't act like she was hiding anything.

Re: Alex and the case, i figure it this way she got screen time, she got a storyline, and she was part of a process that helpped future victims of this doctor.

Overall, i again liked the ep, especially when the victim asked H "if he didn't rape me, who did?" and her on camera how many rape victims recant their I.D of their rapist? but admitting something more about rape victims they suffer from PTSD is getting more out to real life people who suffer it to.

As to her killing her rapist, did that surprise me no, but it made the story come together imo the emotions that she had tried to deal with, with the new evidence and everything all together just made it worth the watch.

Could anyone guess the plot sure, could they guess the ending sure, but i personally also gauge the emotions for those involved, for those in the lab, and in general for the over all of it.

But then again this is just my opinion, though i don't have a lot of time to put in all that i want i might do that later on, as i taped it so i could rewatch anything i missed. :)

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

:( This episode was dull, and I only watched bits and pieces of it. Because the episode was  boring and predictable, so I just changed the channel to TNT and watched the new :) Wanted episode that was on.

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

I have to agree, the episode was not my favourite - however CSI Las Vegas had a period where they're episodes were really predictable and the cases were obvious too and now they're back to great episodes. I think we just need to let the writers get over their slump and get back into the awesome groove Miami had for such a long time.

I enjoyed the episode overall but I agree the writers need some fresh ideas. I love the episodes that are ripped from the headlines - real life is usually freakier than what they make up!

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

This Episode was So Blah I just kept rolling my eyes at it. The only Thing Good about (Other then seeing Saint H) was Seeing Michael Shanks (From Stargate SG-1). Although they could've Given him More Screentime!

When Joe Flanigan (from Stargate: Atlantis) Guest Stared in the 2nd Season Ep "Slow Burn" he had abit more screentime, He was in the Casino, Interigation Room, Swamp (At the Scene of the Crime) then at Miami HQ Where the Girlfriend Comes to comfort him.

the only Screentime Michael Had was Just the Boat and Interigation Room.

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

Alexx and Frank having screentime was good. Calleigh taking on Snake was good.
Not anywhere near enough to save the episode though.
The case was predictable and the Eric/Natalia thing was so forced that it was painful to watch. I think it might be time for me to start going to bed at 10 on Mondays.

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

I agree the cases were pretty lame...Even not so bad as I thought it will. First I actually thought it's not the victim who killed... but when Alexx wondered why sculputre didn't smash the head, then I just thought "well, it's a woman just like in "Hell Night" and doh, they go with some injury.
Besides... Michael Shanks can't be the killer <3 LOL!

Good things:
Michael Shanks.

Michael Shanks not being murderer.

Michael Shanks had white pants.

 And the episode was about...?

Alexx more on the screen. She totally kicks ass... and gosh her looks very priceless when Snake Lady left Mr. Nipples and he had problems to concentrate and Alexx put 1 and 1 together... yay!

Calleigh kicking ass again. That's what we blondes do.

Frank getting angry at Snake Lady. YAY!

Than this Cal- Snake Lady thing. I think part of Calleigh's saying was right. That people always don't get that they didn't have all that stuff (for processing), like good example was the guy who was released who was with "you all get sued!" attitude. But then Snake Lady's point that takes lab to publicity...it can also be a good thing.

And then to whiners who whine it's too much H Caine... see, again an episode where was LESS H Caine.

This episode just missed something. But then again...every show, every season needs 1-2 lame episodes. You cannot expect them making masterpieces all the time. (Think how lame LV has been this season after Tarantino's Grave Danger)

What comes to mole storyline. Of course it's now Snake Lady. Of course it's the person, who is told first (I'm assuming Cal and Eric and Alexx and stuff doesn't know... H and Ryan knows) and then go "Geez. Really?" So it has to be Snake Lady. Can't be Frank since he isn't working in the lab.

Bad things: WEll... 70% of the episode... and not enough Michael Shanks.

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

That's another thing that was wrong with this episode. Not enough Horatio!

Michael Shanks was a good thing about this episode, that's true DaWacko. :)

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

Gross. And is she giving Ryan goggly eyes in the preview, too? Hi, Slutty McSlutterson.
Ha!! That's what I was thinking when I saw the previews. Now that I see how it turned out, I'm kind of miffed that they're basically calling them both sluts. I thought Eric was supposed to have gotten his man-slut bug out of his system!

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

I have to agree with the majority here. Yes, there were some very good parts of the episode. I always like it when Frank and Horatio get together on a case. And I LOVE it when Frank starts getting pissed with people, because he has such a great "cranky" way about him.

I didn't really like how both cases had basically already been done before. Alexx got some nice face time (for a change this season!), but it was basically the same issue she's had to deal with before - another doctor's incompetence. I mean, this time, at least the doctor was a bit more sympathetic, but it's still his responsibility to stop practicing medicine before he starts hurting people, and he didn't do that.

They've already done the "rape victim kills rapist" story! Twice now, if you count the episode where the woman killed the person who set up a date for her with a rapist. I was REALLY hoping the murderer had been either the stalker or the boyfriend. That would have been much more unique.

Heck, the thing with Natalia and the press has already been done, like FIVE MINUTES ago. Shades of Ryan, anyone? I mean, he's chastised for being too friendly with the press, and basically gets it together, just for BoaVista to go all press hungry one week later? I don't think so.

I didn't like the Eric/Natalia thing either. Bad enough she's been flirting with everything that moves (she flirts with Horatio, too), but they didn't have to show Eric bringing his sex life to work again. He was supposed to have learned his lesson about that kind of thing after he got his badge stolen by being careless. Why do something like that with a coworker anyway? I'm sorry, but I have more respect for Eric than that. I just don't think he would be stupid enough to do something like that.

Besides that, he's supposed to be this seasoned Cassanova. Why the heck would he make a goofy mistake like bringing that bracelet to the wrong girl? I would think he'd be smart enough to at least wait for Chick # Whoever to come looking for it, instead of taking the potentially embarrassing pro-active approach.

But as many have said already, after so long a time with no new episodes, I was happy to see ANYTHING! Even if I do whine about it.

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

hmmm i wasnt crazy about it either. for the same reasons most of you arent. however, i am cursed with eternal optimism so i did like the ep somewhat. i love ryan and h and the whole Calleigh/nat thing was also good. so i like it for those reasons. i do hope nat is the mole. really, im half and half with it. because they dont trust her yet but then again she needs a perpose and she just seems like the perfect mole with the flirting with all the guys. then again, making her the mole is what everyone is expecting so.... and then AGAIN, csi miami has been sort of predrictable....
In short, i have no idea. but i would LIKE it to be nat because i dont like her. lol so we'll just have to wait and see.

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

you know i agree on one thing . it wasnt the writers best work ..not by a longshot .. but i think the actors did the best they could .. I enjoyed Alexx's screentime and how she finally convinced that dr he shouldnt be in the operating room ... Ya the writing sucks .. but as was mentioned they need to get by this slump .. not all seasons in a series are the best ... hopefully in the New Year things will change .. but I'll stick to this show and it's actors who I love immensely :) .. i honestly dont think im going to be reading this thread anymore .. i m really tired of the negativity of it to be honest .. and yeah that is my 2 cents worth of it rofl !

Re: next episode: Payback ***SPOILERS INSIDE***

very ture. i dont think anyone in this post will actually sotp watching. i also think that this is just a hurdle they will get over. and also, you have to think; 3 shows about the same thing are going on. all 3 are watched. some more than others but still. so, i think its probbly hard because though there are many ways to die.... idk i sometimes worry that the writers are going to get a block because not only do they think of things they've done for their show, they also have to worry about is it to close to another csi's ep. now they might not worry about that, though i think they do. because i watch all 3 and im just worried im gunna start seeing the same ideas in different shows. so, because i love the characters, im going to continue to watch even though the writing is done a bit. and before everyone bashes the writers, remember, they've got a HUGE job.
