Oh my word... Anyone else been watching Derren Brown's events... I cannot believe that he predicted the lottery numbers... I'm quite intrigued to see how he actually did it, so I'm really looking forward to Friday nights show, it's going to be interesting to see how he actually did that...

I'm also quite intrigued to see what he's going to do for the next 4 events... But what I can say is that Derren is awesome, no matter how he did it, it was amazing...

Well I am a huuuuuuuuuuuuge Derren Brown fan and was so excited bout tonight, like you I cannot wait till Friday to see how he pulled it off! Apparently next week hes gonna perfrom something on everyone watching so they can't move out of their seats, I can't wait!

i'm sooo upset! i adore derren (i've seen him live 4 times!) and i was waffling on to all my friends about how they MUST watch the events. so what did i do? i went out and forgot to sky+ it. DAMN! i'm sure it's already on youtube and/or will be repeated so i'll see it but what a bloomin' div!

bring on friday's though!

oh and he lives about 15 mins from me - woo!

Yep I heard that too Chazzawazza, I saw an interview on youtube, he said he'd do the lottery thing, another week he'd talk about the subliminal, and do an experiment with then, he said another week he's going to show how to bring down some of the largest corporations and the final week he's going to show how to singal handedly bring down a casino, sounds like it's going to be awesome to me. :D

Lisa, check your PM box. ;)

Did he actually predict the lottery results correctly, then?
I cant say im a fan, but my ex flatmate went to a few of his live shows and absolutely loved them.

Yeh he did! I actually can't wait to see how he did it, the guy is too smart for words. I also heard he's going to be doing something with Man United, which makes sense due to the web address on the trailer. I can only hope he's going to make them forget how to play football!

And you're so lucky *lisasimpson* I don't think i'd cope living so close to him i'd be arrested for stalking within a week.

^^ haha, well yes i know what you mean but i have a useful thing to keep myself away: he lives in croydon (at least as far as i know, he's definitely *from* croydon, i believe he still lives there). i try not to go there too often if i can help it:lol::lol: (although i am going there - and voluntarily!) next week...

I cant say im a fan, but my ex flatmate went to a few of his live shows and absolutely loved them.

his live shows are *incredible* - literally. the last one wasn't, i thought, as spectacular as some of the ones before but it was still great. you just leave those shows with a blank look, trying to figure out what just happened. i love him!

just watched it on YT - god that man is a legend. i can't wait for friday now. whoever would've thought that croydon could produce someone that cool?!:guffaw:

Can't say I'm a fan either of Derren Brown, (I think his tricks are amazing but I'm not fond of how he uses the public in some of them), but then hubby thinks he's a genius, so I'm forced to watch. I saw this and have a feeling he might have been using a split screen.

Just before he makes his way back over to his balls (haha - chuckle) He looks across the way, past the balls, stops a step (as if someone is telling him to wait) and then begins to make his way over to the balls.

Not sure if split screens can be done live, but I thought it was interesting that he looked up, stopped and then started walking again.

:)

well we'll find out tonight - i had heard the split screen theory (and various others, he's been posting all the various conspiracy theory ideas on his blog!) but i can't see him stooping to something so obvious! i'm looking forward to finding out :D

Yeah he said he's been working on it for a year, split screen could be sorted out by anyone and it wouldn't take a years work. I really hope it isn't something that obvious, not long till we find out I can't wait!

Well, what did you guys think of his explanation... I thought it was very clever, one of my best friends and I have been chatting about it, and we think whatever he did it was very clever... I loved how he spent most of the show with this grand explanation about how emotions etc can make people do things in a more predictable way, and his whole explanation into the group theory and automatic writing, mixed with all of the mathematical stuff, then he went on to say or I could have rigged the lotto... He' cracks me up, no matter how he did it, it was all very clever, now I'm looking even more forward to next weeks show. :D

i thought it was really clever too - he's used a lot of those techniques in his live shows and i like the idea that it wasn't just him using his brain to control a machine but him using his brain to control a bunch of people, it's far more his style.

the stuff he was saying about "i didn't do this because it's illegal, but if i had..." afterwards was great as well, i love how, even tho he's the smuggest man in croydon, he's able to allow people to doubt him and he's able to almost send himself up.

next week's will be ace, although tbh i spend most of my evenings stuck to the sofa anyway ;)

Yep I agree with you, all of the techniques which he uses are fantastic, it's all to do with the power of suggestion... I love how he can say stuff, and immediately it makes you doubt all that he's said before, he's very clever when it comes to stuff like that.

I'm contemplating buying a friend of mine a ticket to one of his Belfast shows for his birthday (of course I'd go with him), is he worth seeing live?

yesyesyesyesyesyesyes!!! he is amazing live, you always leave with a mixture of "omg! that was amazing" and "wtf just happened?"

i didn't know he was doing more shows - i saw him very recently (in june) so i wonder if it's that same show if it's not far off - is the one you're thinking of the enigma show? if so, do it, it's a really really good show!

Yep it's the Enigma show, it comes to Belfast in April. I'm seriously contemplating it... I know Jonathan would love to see him, and I would too, so it could be a nice birthday present...

I see there's a whole outcry in the media today about last night's show, apparently a lot of people are angry that he didn't tell them how to win the lottery... Come on, let's be realistic, what exactly were they expecting? Him to give them tonight's numbers? I thought the show was amazing, it was thought provoking... It's not like he's going to give away all his secrets, if he did that, then he'd just be like everybody else...
