"Deep Fried and Minty Fresh" Discussion *SPOILERS*

'old guy'? LOL That's Marg & Billy from Billy's 'Walk of Fame' Star ceremony.
Oh, really?! Oops! Sorry about that - I saw the white hair and thought it was someone else. I can totally see that it's Billy now!

That would be William Petersen. He dyed his hair (or maybe undyed it; not sure what his normal color is) for the Hollywood Walk of Fame star ceremony.
Ooooooh!

I think he did dye his hair blonde!

Billy's hair is naturally grey, he dyed it for CSI, and now doesn't have to anymore, but this topic is on the ep. so I won't say anymore about his hair, if you want to see more go to his pic. thread!

Oo I just remembered I had one last question: Why did Greg and Catherine need to ask the next-door neighbor for permission to search her trash can? Last I checked, trash cans (at least those put outside the house and set up for pick-up) are considered fair game for searches without search warrants because the homeowner has discarded them, based on California v. Greenwood. Was that a blooper/writing mistake?

I think maybe they just asked out of courtesy. They probably didn't want her coming out there and making a scene yelling "Hey, what the heck are you doing?"

^I guess that makes sense.

One thing I also realize that I've liked in this season in general is the way that the show has touched on the economic crisis from perspectives both expected and original. Interesting way to incorporate the housing crisis through the mortgage broker/real estate agent husband/wife duo, and the previous mention of Griss's condo and how he can't sell it. I like that it still feels like the show is grounded in real life.

I think, too, it was really in her driveway right over the fence. So...on her property they had to ask?

This episode didn't have the great potential that Sarah Goldfinger had with "The Happy Place" earlier this season and Corinne Marrinan with "Let it Bleed." I'm starting to agree that there's too much Langston--you have a new entry into the show, who's supposed to be a CSI Level 1, and he's getting more screentime than say, Catherine, who's the supervisor?

About three minutes of the episode cut out because CBS broke out with a Special Report (which you would think wouldn't happen after it happened during Season 1 of CSI: NY and the producer who did it got fired), but I got the idea of who did what and who killed who. Catherine delivered the best line in the whole episode in my opinion: "Death by Smurf?" The way she delivered it was quite funny.

Not my favorite episode of the season, but still enjoyable in some places. I have to give credit to all the writers this season for getting the show back on track. I just believe that this episode was a mishap and am much looking forward to next week's episode.

B-.

That would be correct if it were on the curb then it would be considered public, since it was against the fence in her yard therefore required permission.

Well I think the fact that his Chinese was correct was props to them because I've been to movies with my Chinese friend and when they have Chinese in them and translate it on screen she goes "That's not what they said!"
