But who sees this making certain shippers insufferable? As if they somehow picked the 'right' ship as opposed to going with the obvious, unimaginative answer.

This is what I hate about TPTB putting a 'ship' on the show. There's always the gloating of the ones who are fans of the ship, and the groaning from the ones who prefer other ships. It completely screws up fandoms. And the only thing worse than having a canon ship, is when they put half the pairing in another canon ship and you end up with 2 groups of fans at each other's throats.
I've lived through the Carby/Luby 'wars' in the ER fandom, trust me, it's not a pretty sight.
(sighs) why do all the good shows have to degenerate into soaps.

i think canon ships are bad for fandoms, for the reasons you stated.

i think these writers seem to assume that the only way to develop a character even more, is to stick them with some other person on the show and make them "date" or whatever.
for god sake, there are other things in people's livves!
and me being a danny/flack shipper, would like to see their friendly relationship go further.

i'll be pissed off like hell if this does come about as a result of Flack's injuries, and that bloody "ride" line.
 
^ that will not only piss me off, but also screw up their frienship. i mean, who leaves their best friend in the hospital to take some chick home and get on with her or whatever. that'd make it seem like danny doesn't care about flack at all.

if they think pairing people will develop the character more, it shows that the character is a weak one. i mean, what kind of character is only someone in relation to a more complete character. what would lindsay be without danny? i think i'm going to go crazy if they make them canon. :mad:

I don't think I could ever leave D/F, not matter what they decide to do with the D/L ship. They're my all time favorite NY ship.

me, neither. i love DF but at this rate, they're gonna kill it! it's like TPTB are blind and don't see how painful and hard it is for carmine to fake chemistry with anna.
 
Hmmmm, it seems the whole D/L possibility thing might be overblown at this point. We only have one person's account that it might be possible based on a snippet from a script of that episode online ... So, who knows how the final episode will really be like?

I'm actually more optimistic now that the whole Danny panicking over Lindsay becoming a hostage thing is more that he's afraid of losing another co-worker/friend again. Ya know, what with him having lost Aiden, and nearly losing Flack in the bomb blast too. While we D/F shippers definitely don't like the idea of D/L getting on ... it's quite obvious that Danny is at least friends with Lindsay.

*shrugs* I'm still hoping there's a D/F shipper or two on the writers' team. :devil: There's hope yet! :lol:

I don't mind that Danny gave Lindsey a ride home, I just wish that he'd acted a bit more conflicted about it. I mean, I'm sure he wanted to make sure that L got home all right, but the way he played it, it was like he wasn't really worried about Flack at all.
 
he did play it pretty chirpy considering the circumstances. once he was done looking heartbroken when staring into Flack's room. he just turned round and acted as though nowt had happened.
i mean, i like to think it was because he was trying to shove it out his mind, but he didn't even look at all bothered. and no one an act as if everything is ok that well. so yaar, got a bit raged :lol:

I agree..I think Danny's reaction will only be because of Aiden, Louie, Stella, and Flack. Not a love thing just a "I can't lose another friend" thing.

I bet the final scripts are nothing near to what the early drafts are. I know over in Miami last season lots of spoilers came out (from Ann Donahue herself) and they never happened. (some examples: 2 CSI's might make a little CSI, the mole would have to leave the show--there was no little CSI made and the mole did not leave.) This is just another "maybe" thing.

Maybe TPTB wanted it to get out to see what the reaction would be. If they read these threads, they'll back away from D/L.

Fanfic will always have D/F no matter what the show does. Tim Speedle was killed on Miami and that didn't stop all the fics about him. They all just pretended like it didn't happen and it worked.

*cries* That would be terrible! They can't do that to D/F! I know! It does seem like they're blind to that fact that D/L romance is hard to witness [lines and scenes are tense and almost forced].

I'm not going to try to over-react though since the spoiler may not even be true or real. :rolleyes:

I keep hearing about this spoiler that leads to making DL canon -- what is it, exactly? *is curious*

I think I'd giggle if there were D/F shippers on the writer's team.

About that rumor. It was posted in the spoiler thread in the NY forums. It doesn't really state the source. It only says they are "early scripts" and "network drafts" but when asked for the website they say it is subscription only. That poster has also made statements regarding the 4th episode too but still won't provide sources. IMO, I'll believe it when I see it. Maybe if some of the things they are saying (except for D/L) really happen, then maybe I'll trust them. :rolleyes:
 
Good for all of ya! :) I've mellowed out a lot over the D/L thing, so I'm just gonna wait with everybody else and see what unfolds.

And ya know. I'm thinking the TPTB are really doing everything they can to stop D/F from overwhelming the show. :p All it took was just one episode to spawn teh lurve ... If they started developing something deeper between the two like Carmine said he'd like, oh my, D/F will rule. :D :devil: So ...

WRITERS, LISTEN TO CARMINE, DAMNIT.
 
If something does happen.. There could be a war between the Danny/Lindsay, Flack/Monroe and Danny/Flack ships... O__o; This could be interesting.

Ah well.. If Danny and Lindsay really do get together, we know Danny is cheating on Lindsay and is really in love with his Flack. Nothing can and will ever change that :D
 
Yeah, the initial shock has worn off.

Back the train up Kimmy. What have I missed?? Carmine said that?? You're kidding right? Oh how I would love it. Besides, Eddie and Carmine are already doing it so why shouldn't Danny and Flack. :devil:
 
K, even if the rumours are true(I hope not!!!) I'll just replay the D/F porn that I created in my dirty mind. Yes, it is possible for me to use my brain and not my urges all the time. Now Flack is unloading his barrel into Danny's home and....*BOOM* :devil:.

Why won't season 3 come faster :(...
