'CSI' Season Opener Loses Battle Against 'Grey's Anatomy'

Re: 'CSI' Season Opener Loses Battle Against 'Grey's Anatomy

Again, triple posting, but it's been almost 24 hours.

I know this sounds nasty, but I think the writers of CSI have become arrogant and complacent. They go on with the CRIME SHOW mantra and don't even dare to enter into the personal lives of the characters with the exception of Catherine, Sara and Grissom.

The writers, producers, executives have no one to blame but themselves for the drop in ratings. If I don't see any fall out from Nick's ordeal, or any mention of Warrick's marriage then I'm ready to call it a day for this show. Not because of the cast or the actors whom I love, but the writers really burnt my goat last year with Daddy's Little Girl.

Re: 'CSI' Season Opener Loses Battle Against 'Grey's Anatomy

we have no clue if we'll actually see Nick's reaction to what happened to Catherine or not. On any other show, we know he'd be grappling with major guilt issues, but on this one? It could easily get swept under the rug. And that's annoying. I agree as well that the aftermath of Nick's ordeal and Warrick's marriage were great story lines that never went anywhere.

That's exactly what I was thinking when watching. Well, Nick will either never know because Cath won't tell him or we will never know Nick's reaction because they won't tell us.

It's sad actually. They could go so far with "character development" without having each one jump into the sack.

Re: 'CSI' Season Opener Loses Battle Against 'Grey's Anatomy

How come I always see the actors from Grey's on all the talk shows and I see ads promoting Grey's in all the entertainment magazines and I hardly see anything for CSI?
Also, I noticed last week (before the premiers) that while showing college football, ABC kept showing the date and time of the premiere on the bottom of the screen.
I don't think CBS promotes CSI enough, I think CBS has become too complacent and cocky.

And for heaven's sake, please stop exploiting the women on the shows! Stop turning each and every one of them into victims for ratings.

But then, what would we do without our gratuitous coochie shots? Do you just expect us to believe women serve purposes that aren't sexual in nature? Well I never!

Re: 'CSI' Season Opener Loses Battle Against 'Grey's Anatomy

Worse, we're seeing a woman once again engaging in risky behavior that is at odds at the character's development over a period of time doing something silly. Why did she kind of wave to Nick as he was passing by with the girl? Why did Nick so willingly abandon her? He doesn't seem like the type to have left without actually saying goodbye to her more than just a casual "see ya later, 'cause I'm about to get laid" from across the room.

Sigh. One more disappointment.

Re: 'CSI' Season Opener Loses Battle Against 'Grey's Anatomy

meh, theyre both almost 40, in fact catherines character is probably over 40, they can take care of themselves. if nick wanted to leave with a girl he was going to leave with a girl, it has been six years since he got a little action (that we know of) after all. i dont see it as abadoning her, shes been at bars alone before, and basically gave him a 'go get her tiger' before he started dancing with the other girl. if the writers choose to have everyone pissed at nick i will be very mad, hes a grown man, catherines a grown woman, they can do what they want. whoever did this to catherine could have just as easily slipped cath the drug and carried her off while nicks back was turned but still in the club.
i share your pain myfuturecsi, but ive given up hope on nick having a fallout. its been too long, the writers screwed up big time and i dont think they can rescue that storyline now. its sad that this half-assed story line with catherine as well as grissom/sara will get a lot of air time whereas nicks issues which should be just as intense if not greater than catherines go unnoticed.
and they definately need to tell us about warrick and tina, they should have at least had something about it in this episode so we know where that relationship stands.

It's crazy talk, I know. Crazy talk!

You know, I keep trying to become a sexual object, but nobody will let me! :p

Sheesh, let me be a woman! Cuz that's all we're good for!
