I was wondering: What about categories? I got several people asking already.
The only problem is: There are not that much people entering every time. And the people who do enter send in like 3 icons. If I divide that into categories, there will be like.. 2 people participating in each category. So: Could you please tell me:
Whether you think having categories is a good idea.
Whether you participate everytime there's a challenge.
If not, would you participate if there were categories?
I prefer personally categories in a challenge.
Because of not artist is so good how the others.
Some are condemned great in their art works. Some also not.
It becomes at first correctly fair with two categories.
I mean Beginners and Advanced. Maybe enter with this variant more CSI members as without.
And I would everytime to participate by a challenge...
I would really to try this with two different levels here.
I think (and I think a lot of people agree) that having categories makes a big difference, but this challenge unfortunately has yet to have enough entries to make categories seem worthwhile.
Roosey, perhaps something you can do is offer the categories (I'd start out with just two and see how it goes), but combine them if there aren't enough.
I agree catagories are a good idea, start with two and then see what happens.
Many beginners don't like being put up against advanced, as there is a huge gap in abilites. And where's the fairness in that? It could be a reason that many don't enter this particular challenge.
That's what I was going to say^^^ Maybe we get less people taking part in this challenge because beginers see no point in putting effort into something when it will look a little basic compared to some of the more skilled here. I know I did and still do but I just do it anyway
Even though I always vote, I think I only participated in the NY challenge once. Not that I have participated everytime in the others, but every once in a while, I choose one or another and give it a go.
I think the categories are definitely a good idea. It is not that exciting for beginners to compete against advanced, because they know from the start that they have no chance. So maybe trying the 2 categories once would be good and see what happens.
Though I think I should also say that one of things that kind of attracts me to participate is provided caps, because those make me only focus on the icon, and not in finding the right cap.
As I'm already here, I might give this one a go...just before the holidays end and I get busy again
Ok guys, you have 30 more minutes to send in your entries. 20, actually. But, as I don't expect any entries coming in in the next 20 mins, I'll have to extend the deadline.
You can send in your icons until MONDAY, 7TH OF JANUARY, 5PM GMT+1.
I'm sorry guys.. I've been sick in bed since last tuesday and this is the first time I'm able to get out of bed to do anything but going to the loo and taking a shower. But ah well...
