but seriously, i think most of the surprises are going to pertain Catherine and i think it's going to be her season. she hasn't gotten a major storyline in a while and since, imo, Cath is soon to leave, the writers are going to make up a creative way to write her off. something different than a burnout, cuz we already got one from Grissom and Sara. something different than killing her off cuz we got that from Warrick. and something different than CSI!InDanger cuz we got that in 4 season finales in a row.

I think you're right which would be sad. I can't figure out why there needs to be one character arc season when other shows have done great with multiple story arcs for all their characters (ER). I guess it's all got to do with Carol M.'s old school way of writing shows. Sad, but true.

I hope Marg doesn't leave this season, but she seemed so sad last year and out sorts in her role and it was hard to tell if it had to do with her personal issues (divorce) or the events of the character(Losing three friends in a year)

Wasn't David Berman made a full time cast member last season? And I don't think Catherine will die in peril-it will be most likely she'll move on to continue her dad's work.

Wendy becoming a CSI, yep I see that. Maybe Mandy will move into DNA and then we'd get more 'Manic" scenes (Nick and Mandy) which would be awesome!

To be honest, from what I read from one writer, I don't think Sara or Grissom will be back this season. I'd rather they not return.

I think Marg has changed her mind about leaving, I'm sure I read in a recent interview she'd be around for awhile.

I'd like to see a whole season without Grissom or Sara involved at all.

I'd love to see Grissom and Sara back sometime during the season. I doubt they will be in the season premiere because WP is busy doing a play this summer.
We have had references to Grissom in many of the episodes, but I would love to hear something about Sara, too.
I don't know about Marg. She has said conflicting things in interviews. She was excited to be back after the writer's strike, and seemed to have a renewed enthusiasm for the show; but she has also said how much she misses Billy and Jorja. I do think if she leaves the ratings would get even worse, so tptb will do what they need to do to get her to stay.
I think we will have a better idea of what will happen with Marg, and Catherine, with the summer press tour, as well as to what the 'surprises' might entail.

I'm with you. I would love a whole season Grissom and Sara free, but we probably will not get that.

I just really want a bit less of Langston and more of Catherine/Nick/Greg, the three original CSI's before he came along.

i wish David Berman became a full time cast member. he's way awesome. i bet they're gonna make Wendy a CSI Level 1. Langston is probably gonna advance to Level 2. i'm afraid Catherine is going to step down....

i agree with this - i have felt like catherine's faded into the background a bit on the last season, we didn't see enough of her, so i hope she gets a bit more to do this time around (and i hope she doesn't leave, it'd be a shame).

david, wendy and hodges are probably my 3 favourite characters so i love the idea of them getting more to do as well - i think wendy would be a great csi and her getting level 1 while langston goes to level 2 would make perfect sense. it would also add an extra dynamic to her relationship (working) with hodges.

I just want more Catherine. If Marg is going to leave, I'd love to see her get a great exiting storyline. I love angst, but come on, the poor woman has been through so much in her life. I hope that if Marg does leave, she gets a happy ending. I'd also like to see more of Lindsey in this season. Thanks to her Rapid Aging Syndrome, she should be in her high school senior year.
