Criminal Minds #4: We Take Care Of Our Own!

Grrrr....

Witness protection sounds interesting, but it wouldn't surprise me to see her killed off for real (JJ's exit was bittersweet, I'd think writers will want some major drama with this one). And considering JJ's making a special return.....sounds like it'd be for a funeral, unfortunatly.

I haven't been following much CM news lately, has there been any word on another female replacing Paget?

I got a question, Where do you get the idea that Emily will get killed off? It's didn't said anything about that. CBS said they hope Paget stay with the show.

The only new female they've added to the cast is Rachel Nichols who plays Ashley Seaver. So far we haven't heard anything about another new female coming onto the show.

NHRfan, I don't think they'll kill Emily off. I'm hoping they won't anyway. I think given the indication in the last episode that someone from her past might be targeting her, that she might have to go into hiding for a while. I'm hoping she'll be back next season. :crosses fingers:

Ugh... I was hoping there was nothing official on Paget leaving CM. I want to go against everything my gut tells me will happen and believe GNRF's scenario. Witness protection sounds way more interesting and original than killing her off. I also agree that I don't think it will be a smart move from the writers to piss off the fans even more. CM is a good show and I love the guys, but four male members, a JJ lookalike, and bits of Garcia isn't going to be the same. Plus Emily is my fave along with Hotch so I'm even more pissed.

I really hope she comes back next season.

As much as it pains me,kiling emily at the end of the season is posible. But I agree that it would upset too many fans.I am still hoping that Paget will be asked to stay.

JJ return to sent Emily away, not getting killed off. Just in case, they decided to bring her back next season, I hope and so it JJ. If Seaver didn't work well with the team.

I'm still puzzled by the addition of Seaver to the team. I know this isn't real life, but the average FBI VICAP member has about a dozen years of experience, and the fact that they would bring this girl (who doesn't even look like she's had any police experience) onto the team is just baffling. They should have gone with an older woman in my opinion. Well, actually... they never should have gotten rid of JJ in the first place. In a just world, the entire cast of CSI would quit at the end of their contracts to stick it to the man.

The addition of Seaver has upset 99% of the fandom because a character like her would NEVER be allowed in the BAU. She needs to go, and we need JJ back. We need Emily to not get killed off and to come back next season. But we also need the writers back that the network (or whoever) fired at the end of the 4th season. Without good writing, the show will keep floundering.

Do not watch the spinoff. Watching the spinoff is like praising TPTB for messing up original CM. Join with other loyal fans and participate in the "Switch to ION Event" on the night that the spinoff starts airing. When the episode of real CM ends, either switch to ION or your DVDs to watch one of the excellent CM reruns of the earlier seasons instead of watching the spinoff. Or you can also switch to NBC to watch SVU. I watched the episode with AJ Cooke a few weeks ago, and it was excellent.

I hope they won't kill Emily. It will be too predictable and heartbreaking for us fans. I guess it all depends whether Paget wants to renew her contract or not. I hope she'll choose to stay.

I'm glad AJ Cook will return to reprise her role.

I'll watch CMSB pilot episode just because I want to see Garcia. But after that I'll watch SVU and record SB.

By the way, I really don't like CM's spin-off title. Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior? Really? It's redundant. It's like saying a CSI spin-off would be CSI: Forensics Investigations!!! :wtf:

Well, suspect is supposed to have a double meaning... I guess they're going with the "To distrust or have doubts about" meaning as well.

Unless you have a Nielsen ratings box, not watching the spin-off or watch CM on another channel isn't going to help.

I agree, it does sound redundant LOL.

Yes, it will because nowadays the networks are able to get the info that people watched a show from the cable companies and from your DVR. So if you absolutely can't not watch that spinoff, go get the antenna ("rabbit ears") put that on top of your TV and watch with that. Be sure you have temporarily disconnected your cable or satellite. Then there is no way anyone can know you watched. But I would like to think that loyal fans simply won't watch this spinoff as it is responsible for everything bad that has befallen the original show. Such as:

1. The shows most important writers being fired at the end of season 4. These were the writers that gave all the characters good screen time and interaction with each other and allowed everybody's favorites to shine. Now we get way too much of the Unsub's screentime which has become more and more an exercise in exploitive garbage.

2. AJ Cooke's contract not being renewed and Paget being offered a reduced amount of screen time was part of the "refreshing" of CM so that it would fit better with the spinoff and CBS's "franchise" plans. Nina Tassler said so herself during a recent network meeting.

Yes I know 'suspect' has double meaning. But the 'suspect' in the show's title sounds like 'unsub' to me. And in the show's promo, it's pronounced as the noun meaning (unsub) not the verb one.

Well, even if nobody watches the spinoff (I'm expecting around an equal number of viewers for CM and CM:SB that night), that just means the spinoff will be cancelled. It more that likely won't have any effect on Criminal Minds. Just like the falling ratings of the two CSI spinoffs have no direct bearing on what's going on on CSI.

The spinoff getting cancelled would be a very good thing. And then the showrunners could focus all their energies on repairing the original CM.
