Orphan...? The movie?

You don't like Reid because you don't like it when characters are written in such a way that their trauma defines them. You like that other characters have PTSD and use it, but you don't like it when that PTSD is blatant and seeps into the rest of the show.

At least, that's what I've been getting from your posts.

Yes Orphan the movie. I am less scared now. It's scarier than a really creepy CM, but not by a whole lot, actually. I probably won't be able to sleep though, LOL.

Jeez. You keep reading my mind. It's kind of creepy. I like that the writers don't forget about PTSD, but none of the other characters' lives are run by it. They can all function. Maybe it has to do with his age or his past, but this is not called The Reid Show.

Oh, I found my CM tape. So I can now have each episode for two weeks. You still win, but it's better than nothing.

So... We're kind of running out of discussion topics, so here's one: Unit Chief Morgan. Thoughts? I know you have thoughts.

Eh, I just think we have similar opinions.

Unit Chief Morgan: I'm hesitant about this. On one hand, it'll be a very interesting change in the team dynamic. On the other hand, Morgan is, quite honestly, not exactly who I'd think of when I think "leader". I know that he's Older Brother, so it's naturally who would step up, but he's just not really someone that I would want as my boss. First of all, Hopeless showed a severe lapse in judgment that needs to be addressed. He didn't listen to Garcia, who, for all intents and purposes, was 100% correct. Morgan's a good agent, and is good at the how-to-raid-an-UnSub-cave stuff, but there are some problems that just don't make me believe that he'd exactly be a great leader. Also, he seemed to be a *tiny* bit whiny in Cradle To Grave considering some of the stuff Hotch was asking him to do was actually his job.

Again, I'm not saying that Morgan's a bad agent. I'm also not saying that team leaders are perfect or don't have issues. I'm just saying that Morgan's not the first person I would think of to take over the team, even if seniority/ranking wise he'd be the next in line.

Okay... My thoughts on Unit Chief Morgan...

I think he makes a good leader because he's the Protector, Big Brother. The problem is being in charge of a unit... Like he's used to doing whatever he wants because he knows Hotch will fix anything he messes up. The biggest dilemma will be him playing politics and showing good judgement, plus making the adjustment.

It will be interesting to see how the team reacts and how Morgan steps up. I think I'm most excited to see how he will step into that role.

Also, Hotch is still going to be there. So I'm wondering if this is more like a formality... Like Morgan signs the papers but Hotch still leads.

Will Hotch point all eyes to Morgan as the leader? Or will he continue to be in charge? Will the team accept Morgan as their leader?

Gosh I'm so excited!

See, that's my other problem. If Hotch was leaving (first of all, I'd die), then maybe- maybe- I can see it working, even though Morgan'd have very large shoes to fill. It wouldn't necessarily be great, for reasons I've mentioned before, but it would be an easier transition. Since Hotch is still going to be there... I'm almost tempted to think that nothing's going to reallly change. Even if Morgan is the Unit Chief, he'll still defer to Hotch, as will everyone else (except maybe Rossi, which is something I've been thinking about. Rossi will probably know what the hell is going on, and treat Morgan like his boss if only to strengthen the "yeah, Hotch is totally stepping down. don't know what you're talking about" ruse, because I still say that this whole thing is essentially a ruse.). Hotch-is-leader is so automatic at this point, that I think the biggest transitional problem will be whether anyone will actually treat Morgan as the boss.

Bryn, both of us should go to bed now. It's almost 2am. (Although, technically, it's almost 1am. Yay daylight savings time giving me more hours of sleep!)

Ugh. I had half of a post, and then my iPod died. This greatly upsets me.

Anyway, I was wondering why you were still up, LOL. We decided to watch something not scary, so we watched CM. It was 'Poison', which I hadn't actually seen. I'm liking these old episodes. I like Elle. Not even close to my fangirling love of Em, but Elle's still pretty cool. I can't stand Gideon though.

Anyway, back to Unit Chief Morgan. I agree that's it's just a ruse. Like, shut up Strauss. Hotch is not in charge, so you can't complain about him.

I was also thinking that Rossi was going to treat Morgan like the Unit Chief. I'm thinking because he's Stepdad and he's going to get Morgan to step up and be the leader.

Morgan definitely has leadership potential.

As for everyone else... I think Em and Jayje will understand the politics of it, and they will give him hell, which is going to be hilarious. I haven't figures out how Reid will react. Garcia will be proud of him (I'm reminded of 'Profiler, Profiled' when she was all proud that he was a QB).

Why were you still up? We live in the same time zone.

They pretty much said that it was practically a ruse. I mean, Morgan flat out said that as soon as the Reaper was caught Hotch was Unit Chief again.

Reid will probably be confused at first, but I think in general everyone will understand.

Okay, if they don't have the rest of the Kids giving Morgan hell, I'll be very disappointed in the writers. If only because it would be freaking hilarious.

I slept over at a friend's house, watching scary movies. With CSI:Miami screaming at me. I had an excuse. :p We are currently watching A Haunting in Connecticut. Holy Frick on a stick.

They did basically say it's only a ruse. Which 1) makes sense, and 2) makes us happy, since Hotch is NOT leaving. Because then we would have a serious problem. I'm glad they're doing it, though. It works politically for them and lets us have a change in team dynamic, which we haven't had in a long time.

Morgan knows its a ruse, but will he act like it? I have a feeling he'll still look to Hotch for stuff, but those pics have him looking very official. In fact, he looks like s1 Morgan.

Oh, yes. We NEED snark.

Gosh I can't wait until Wednesday. Highlight of my week.

Yeah, well I was... crap, what was I doing? Oh, playing this addictive game on my iPod and talking to you on here. Ha.

Yes, he does look very professional. It's probably a job requirement.

CM is definitely one of the highlights of my week, because it's actually something interesting, since school is kind of boring.

Hahaha. I'm too addicted to talking to you on here.

Maybe it is a job requirement, LOL. But he used to be all formal and then he went casual. I wonder if he'll wear suits past catching The Reaper. Whoa. Wait. Are we really so bored we're discussing clothing?

School is VERY boring. Plus I'm actually home on Wednesday nights, which is nice.

Wow. While wathing all of these movies, I've realized I can relate everything to CM. Good God, Alex. I'm turning into you.

Yes. Yes, we are discussing clothing. Because there are no spoilers.

*evil laughter* Yes! I have corrupted you! It's actually kind of scary. You're like a Hispanic, younger version of me. If I were you, I'd be worried. (I assume you're Hispanic. If I'm wrong, feel free to yell at me for being stupid.)

Here's a question: Will Hotch be Unit Chief again in the episode right after the episode in which we catch the Reaper, or will there be a little bit before the transition is made?

Ugh. Why do some shows, like Bones, have so many spoilers that everything is ruined, but CM has NONE?

Yes, I am Hispanic. And I'm turning into you. Trust me, I AM worried.

Um... I wanna say there will be a transition. Because that would just make sense.

Ugh. I'm leaving my friend's house, and therefore leaving the Wi-Fi. I will try to get on sometime soon. But I've learned I should stop making promises.

Ha ha. You should've gotten an iPhone; I hear that they have their own internet.

In some ways, having no spoilers is a good thing. It makes everything so much more intense and have-to-watch. Because when you watch an episode, you have no idea what's going to happen and you get this awesome panicky feeling that makes you just sit and stare at the TV.

A transition would make sense, but if they decide to have a "X # of days later" thing, there wouldn't need to be one.

Lets slow it down a bit please it was about to turn into chatting... I don't want to bring in the no-no sign. ;) Thank you much.

*sheepish grin* Sorry, Destiny.

I just saw Ride the Lightning, which is only my fourth first season episode I've seen. I must admit that I rather enjoyed it. My dad and I had a big discussion on whether or not they should tell the son (this was before the ending), and I decided that I wished they could have found a way to save the woman without ruining the boy's life. In some ways, I kind of think that they should've found a way to say that the husband had killed the son... which would've made Sarah Jean completely innocent, and alive. But, you know, she kind of wanted to die in the end, so I suppose I can accept that ending. Kind of depressing in an uplifting way, which makes no sense but there it is.
