For 3 nights, December 14th, 15th, and 16th on the Syfy channel. Childhood's End (official Syfy pages) I've read the book - a long, long time ago so I don't really remember much. The start if it brings back memories of "2001: A Space Odyssey". Where "2001" has the monolith on the moon "Childhood's End" had basically what's wrong in the world today - poverty, war, famine. The character's were great - Mike Vogel (Ricky Stormgren) and Charles Dance (Karellen) were excellent. The special effects were amazing. I'm glad it's the Syfy channel that doing it. For a book that was first published in 1953, the story does stand the test of time and it applies very much to today.
