*Glen Campbell country music legend, has been diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease, and plans to put out his final album ths summer. Campbell's representative Bobbie Gale made the annoucement recently. The disease is in it's early stages. The 75-yr. old's wife, Kim, also talked to People Magazine and said they wanted to go public with his illness because they wanted fans to know if he has trouble on stage. Campbell's CD "Ghost On The Canvas" is scheduled for release in August. He also is set to go on tour called "The Glen Campbell Goodbye Tour"~

Singer's voice problems cancel Duran Duran tour

LONDON (AP) - Veteran New Romantic band Duran Duran has called off its summer tour because frontman Simon Le Bon is recovering from voice problems.

The European tour had been due to start in Dublin next week and continue through mid-September.

Le Bon said Tuesday he had damaged muscles controlling his vocal cords, leaving him unable to hit top notes, and had been advised to undergo physical therapy.

He said it was unclear how long he would take to recover. But he added: "I am doing everything I can to work through this and get back on track as soon as possible."

Duran Duran became superstars in the 1980s with hits including "Wild Boys" and "Rio."

The band's latest album is the Mark Ronson-produced "All You Need is Now."

As usual, she was sharing her parents with hundreds of others on her special day. *Elizabeth Smart is taking a job with ABC News as a commentator focusing on missing persons and child abduction cases. The Utah girl who had been kidnapped from her bedroom at knifepoint, was raped and held captive at age14 by a Salt Lake City street preacher. A deal with the now 23-yr. old has been in the works for several months and she could be on the air within a few weeks. Smart was kidnapped from her family home in the dead of night on June 5, 2002, by Brian David Mitchell, a itinerant street preacher whose writings have revealed he took the blond-haired, blue-eyed girl so he could pratice polygamy. Mitchell, 56, was convicted in December and sentenced in May to life in federal prison, without parole~

I heard on HLN this morning that the ABC canceled soaps All My Children and One Life To Live will stream online after they are no longer on ABC.

They tried that a few years ago with Passions by airing the show on a new channel only for those with Directv (which aired on NBC) I believe. It didn't last long and they quickly canceled it and wrapped it up. Which will probably be the same with these two shows, maybe they're just going to do it long enough to finish out stories and such.
 
*Jerry Seinfeld comedian, is selling his home in Telluride, Colo. for $18 million. The 14,000 square-foot, 12 bedroom, contemporary ranch home is fully furnished. It sits on almost 27 acres in a sub-division. According to KMGH-TV, the home features 4 fireplaces, a pool, a 5,000-square-foot deck, a guest house and a private road~

Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony call it quits

NEW YORK (AP) - With three failed marriages between them, Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony finally seemed to find true love together when they married seven years ago. They had twin children, went on tour together, did a movie together and even planned a music-based reality show they were working on together.

But on Friday, the pair announced they were no longer together.
"We have decided to end our marriage. This was a very difficult decision," the couple said in a statement by Lopez's publicist. "We have come to amicable conclusion on all matters. It is a painful time for all involved and we appreciate the respect of our privacy at this time."

It was a surprising split for one of Hollywood's most high-profile couples. They seemed inseparable: Lopez even danced in the background for her crooner husband when he performed on "American Idol," where she debuted as a judge this past season.

*Linda Ronstadt broke barriers for women as one of the top-selling artists of her generation, and she's going to detail how she did it in a new memoir for Simon & Schuster. The publisher announced Thursday that is had acquired her autobiography, titled "Heart Like A Wheel", after same album title~
