Casino Royale

Who else saw this and what did you think of it?

I myself thought it was brilliant and although i was skeptic about Daniel Craig being James Bond, he completely changed my mind once i saw him in the movie.

Watched it two nights ago...
I think it's the best Bond I've seen in ages. I really liked that the whole thing was more focused on the characters, and there are hardly any high-tech gadgets, or overdone action scenes. And it's a nice change to see Bond finally getting hurt, and even being on the receiving end of quite some unpleasant treatment(one of my favourite scenes in the movie... So painful, yet so funny).

Daniel Craig as Bond? Excellent. I think he's much better than Brosnan.

I loved the film & everything about it. I loved the action scenes, gadgets, plot, music & especially the location. I clearly underestimated Daniel Craig & now I've realized that he's one of the best Bond's this franchise may not ever had. He may not be a dark brunette like the past Bond's but the hair colour clearly did not screw up his acting ability. The girls in the film were beautiful, especially the Italian one in the beginning. My favourite scene was the one that took place in Venice. I almost bit my nails at one point due to sheer suspence. I also enjoyed how the film explained the beginning of Bond in a tux & Bond's thing with the martini. I figure they would drop that but they metioned it quite well. Oh, and I loved the chase scene in the beginning. The fact that the guy with the scar tried to show off while Bond was running like a normal person was quite funny. Speaking of which I liked the humour in the film with the witty one liners.

James: You're not my type.
Vespa: Smart?
James: No, single.

I also loved it how she called him on his tight ass. Good for her for having a sharp eye .

Overall I was clearly not dissapointed & it was worth the 20 minute wait in line. I would definitely watch it again before it's released on DVD. Daniel Craig is one kick ass Bond!

5/5 stars :D!

I can't wait to see it. I'm a big fan of the Bond series, but I'll have to wait until it goes into prtemiere here on Thursday.

i went and saw it again but this time i dragged my friends along. they both looked quite happy when the credits began to roll. they're not very big Bond fans. lol. again, i was very happy with what i saw. definitely one of my favorites.

I'm not sure if I shall watch the movie. I'm not really into the Bond-thing.
The movie'll start here tomorrow.

Never really noticed Daniel Craig in any movie, but I like Mads Mikkelsen very much! :D

Does Mads have many scenes?? If he has I should go and watch it.

I saw it last night, and I was a little disappointed. It was a great movie, but I thought they milked the love scenes between Vesper and James a little, there were way too many of those after Le Chiffre got killed. Besides, I thought Bond being really in love with her ruined it a little tiny bit for me. The story was a little bit complicated, but I think I'll understand it better after reading the novel (Casino Royale is one of the few I haven't read yet). Also the pre-title fighting scene wasn't very good. Normally the filthy places in Bondmovies somehow don't look THAT filthy, but here it did. Loved the part in the office though. The titles I loved, especially the part where those harts came out of the guns (they did that sort of thing in a previous movie too). Only thing I didn't like about it was Craig's head full-on screen at the end. Plus there could have been some female silhouets in it, but it was good withoutthose too. But like I said, overall it was great. I loved it that Le Chiffre had some deficiencies. Fleming always did that, but in the movies that didn't really come forward. I also just loved M's scenes. Like always, Judi Dench was great. But was that guy her secretary? If so, I think they should have sticked with Moneypenny; she has that charm.
I'm worried about the next movie in november 2008 though. It would be a closely related sequal to this one. I hope it works.

I have a question about the poker though, actually I have too. I know the blind is the person you start with, and the number of the blind is the minimum amount of money you're playing for. But what is the difference between a big and little blind?
And at the end they went all in, but those other two guys looked excited too. Though how can they be excited? They only had 4 and 5 million while Bond and Le Chiffre had way more? Can they still play for the money?

The little blind puts in the first amount, say $100. Then the big blind is double that, so $200. If everyone wants to stay in the game, then they have to match the big blind. Once it comes around the the person who put in the small blind, they have to put in the other half to stay in the hand.

"Casino Royale" reminds me the other "Casino Royale" (1967),the parody of James Bond's films with Peter Sellers,Ursula Andress,David Niven,Orson Welles,Woody Allen and so many others.
Have you watched it? It was very funny.

Coming back to the topic,I'm not a James Bond films' fan but I read very good reviews of this one so maybe I'll watch it.

lol i want him too now. i thought he was ugly and i thought he was ugly when i saw the movie too then i kept thinking about him and i was like, 'oh man... he is good looking.'

he's signed on for two more films i believe. one in 2008, then 2010. the 2010 movie might not be true though. i'm not too sure.

its those eyes. i thought they were enhanced or he was wearing contacts but ive been looking at pictures of him and they really are that blue. but the accent and the frequently naked body didnt hurt
i went with my parents and in the car home my dad says 'they were really focusing on his body more than the girls in this movie' and my mom and i both said 'yeah, whats the problem?'

Thanks. :D I thought it would be something like that. But the small blind seemed a little redundant to me like that. o you also have an answer for my other question about all in?

The movie in 2010 is still a rumour, but Craig does have a contract for three movies, so he will do a third if the second movie doesn't go completely south like Licence to Kill.

He totaled the gorgeous aston Martin.. I mean.. come on.. it was such a nice car... and danile craig IS the new bond.. hope he gets to make more.. love his blue eyes... and the song.. totally LOVE the song.. listening to it right now :D
