Casino Royale

Ive only seen 2 Bond films: Casino Royale and Die another day, and Casino Royale is definately a lot better, it thought it was fantastic
The action sequence at the start of the film was great, even though it was a little unrealistic :p and while the poker game scenes were very stressful to watch i think they did go on a bit.
But i think the scene where Bond gets poisoned and goes into cardiac arrest was such a great scene: really on the edge of your seat stuff but it did make me laugh by one of the guys saying something like this to Bond "dont panic but if you dont do as exactly as i say you'll be dead in 2 minutes", no need to panic then...lol. Also, one more thing, but Bond's first killing scene really shocked me: it wasnt like just shooting a guy, it was beating a guy to a pulp, trying to drown him and then shooting him, it was absolutely brutal (not that shooting isnt brutal though) but i just didnt expect that, anyone else agree?
(softballgirl22 love your avatar:)

thanks! it took me a while to find one that i liked.

and i agree that opening scene was brutal. it was overkill. but the movie was fantastic and definitely better than Die Another Day.

Oh sorry- I forgot about the "all in" part. What happens then is, the guys with the smaller pots have sort of "side-bets". So if one of them takes the pot, they only take as much as their own pots from the others. That is, one guy goes all in with $5 million, and he beats the ones that go all in with say $20 million each, he only gets his $5 plus 5 from each of them, I think. And then, within the same hand, the other guys see who has the best cards out of say the two of them, and that person gets the rest of the $$$.

Does that make sense? It's sort of hard for me to explain because I haven't been playing "hold'em" for very long (and I also suck at it! )

"Casino Royale" reminds me the other "Casino Royale" (1967),the parody of James Bond's films with Peter Sellers,Ursula Andress,David Niven,Orson Welles,Woody Allen and so many others.
Have you watched it? It was very funny.

I was so disappointed when I heard the new one was named Casino Royale, that parody was so funny. Then again it's not really a Bond movie neither. But is was a great movie.

I've seen all Bond movies a dozen of times and this one I'm really skeptic about.
Craig looks like a bad guy rather than a Bond to me. Having said that I'll probably end up in the theater this week. Good thing they've come back to the old ways about the action scenes though, I was getting tired of all the special effects in the last couple of Bond.

Thank you :D
It's all very clear now.

there was a lot of pressure on daniel craig to pull off this role, people didnt think he could do it. i know i thought why did they pick this guy who doesnt even like bond movies? the movie reviewers in our papers here said he was the best bond, and he was great. i know i was wrong to jump to a conclusion before seeing the movie. i was pleasantly surprised.
i didnt even want to go to, but im glad i did. i had sexy bond dreams all night long

I saw this movie yesterday, and wow! They have kicked up the violence a lot, and Craig looks a lot better in his speedo (and buck nekkid!) than he does in his tuxedo. There is also nothing subtle about this Bond, either. But this movie was amazing, action packed, and quite well done. I could also easily get lost in Craig's eyes. Rowr!!

I loved the film & everything about it. I loved the action scenes, gadgets, plot, music & especially the location.
Are you talking about the European locations or the Bahamas? I was involved in the making of this movie (in a very minor way, handling the horse!) and, although I didn't meet Daniel Craig, I met his stunt double who is equally as gorgeous in his own right! The crew spent three months in the Bahamas and, of course, Sean Connery has a house here. A few of the original Bond movies were filmed here, and Mr Connery liked it so much he bought a house. I've seen him out walking a few times! Now, if Daniel Craig would do the same, it could get very interesting!

that horse was beautiful! what was the breed if you dont mind me asking? i thought it was funny with the little boys on the beach drooling over the woman, and i though 'what a sweet horse!' but then daniel craig came out in the little bathing suit, so i forgot about the horse...
both ocean front locations were amazing. craigs bare chest wasnt the only treat for the eyes in this movie :D

He's a Holsteiner called Max and an absolute sweetheart. He was so clever that, after he had rehearsed the scene with Caterina Murano a couple of times, he knew his cue and started down the beach when the director called 'action' - unfortunately before the camera was rolling!

I saw the movie on Saturday and I liked it.
It was funny and also had the typical Bond action.
IMO Daniel Craig is a good James Bond and I agree his eyes are so beautiful.
It was clear to me that the love affair will end badly.

I also liked the Austrian Croupier. I laughed everytime when I heard his Austrian accent.
I wonder if it's also audible in the original versions. I have to buy the DVD to hear the English version.
He's also in real life Croupier.

i loved that movie it was so cool even though i felt ill watching it, the lines were cleaver and witty, there was the right mix of humor, romance and action

Ooh all the locations were amazing. The shots of the beach in the Bahamas took my breath away & seeing Saint Mark's square in Venice was fantastic, especially since I was there last summer myself.

I still don't find Daniel Craig all that sexy but his body is amazing. I read that he worked out for 4 months to achieve that look & the day he removed his clothes the ladies in the crew were amazed at how fine he looked & they're not the only one .

Still, it's nice to see a real English Bond for a change.

i just googled 'daniel craig' and it was one of the first that showed up on an image search :) then i cropped it down to get as much of the package, erm, man, in there. people seem to be thoroughly enjoying it
