Are You Dying To Be On ‘CSI’?

CSI Files

Captain
Producers of CSI have been hearing fans clamor for the past seven years that they would kill for the opportunity to play a corpse on the show. CBS must have been listening. Now fans will get their chance, in the form of a sweepstakes.

“We thought, ‘If everyone wants to be a dead body, why not make it a contest?’” says executive producer Carol Mendelsohn.

Beginning with the April 26th episode, an icon will briefly appear on the screen. The icon is the doll that has become the key prop in the season-long hunt for the miniature killer. A phone number will also be displayed. Viewers can call the number to be entered in the sweepstakes. In May, a winner will be randomly selected. The winner gets to play a dead body on the show. And they don’t even have to kill anyone for the opportunity.

The sweepstakes represents yet another effort the network has made this season to actively involve fans. A giveaway called CSI Q has been running throughout the season on CSI:NY, whereby viewers can call in their guess as to the killer’s identity for the chance to win $10,000.

The full story appears in this week’s issue of TV Guide.

OMGOSH that would be great.. I'd love to play a dead body
I should get my friend the actor to enter the sweepstakes

OMGOSH!!!! I'm definitely tuning in, calling. I wonder if it's only the April 26th episode that we can call in after? Like one entry per person sort of thing.

Imagine how busy their phone line is going to be after the show

ETA: Does anyone know if this is open to only U.S. residents?

Oh man I am so looking forward to this, I'm gonna practice holding my breath tonight in bed.

*wonders about the CANADIAN comment too*

That would be awesome....but I dont know if I'd be able to keep a straight face...lol

It better be open to Canadians! :p I think I'd probably burst out laughing or my eyelashes would fludder... Whenever I'm hyper or nervous they move alot. I'd probably annoy the hell out of the director...

I would love to play a corpse on an episode. With my bad memory, I think I can handle the dialogue. :) I hope Doc Robbins doesn't tickle the corpses between shots.

Since Alliance Atlantis (a Canadian company) is producer for the show, I think this will be one instance where a US Network contest may be open to Canadians. Here's hoping, anyway.

does anyone have actual information on this? i dont get tv guide and i cant find anything about it on the internet. maybe im looking in the wrong places but i couldnt find info on the tv guide website or cbs website.
