Anyone ever broken a bone?

I was at Lake Havasu for July 4th weekend and my best friend decided to light fireworks (COMPLETELY illegal in Arizona) at the lake after midnight. So we did and they lit up the sky! It was absolutely amazing! We decided to run so we wouldn't get caught. I turned around to run to the RV and I stepped on a beer bottle that was left by another group. When I stepped on it, I rolled my ankle, popped the bone OUT OF THE SKIN, and on top of that, broke the bottle, sending chards of glass into my foot. So I left the lake with a broken ankle, 18 stitches, and a $500 fine to take home to the parents.

I broke my collar bone as a child...
I was putting a Spice Girls poster up and I was leaning off by bed...I fell back suddenly and twisted around trying to stop myself from falling, but I hit my collar bone on one of those spinny chairs ...the bottom of it was metal (OUCH!) it hurt a lot and I had to wear a stupid sling thing for about 7 weeks.

I've only broken two bones nothing major.
First broke my left wrist when i was 4 years old but have no memory of what happened so i'm also the proud owner of retrograde amnesia woohoo.
And then i broke my little pinky toe on my left foot a few months back lol

Well, I'm in just a fabulous mood because I'm pretty sure I broke my nose today. It was the stupidest way to break it too. It hurts a bit and now I'm scared I'm gonna have terribly black eyes. :(

So for all you broken bone experts, if it's a minor break, how black do you think my eyes will get? Because I so don't want to go to school with pitch black eyes.

I've never broken my nose but I've gotten a black eye before from fainting in the bathroom and hitting my face on the tiles (the reason I fainted is too embarrassing!) Anyway, just put ice on your eyes to lessen the bruising and dark coloration. My black eye faded in a week's time. Lucky for me, I was on a break then, so I didn't have to go out of the house. :p But still it was embarrassing!

I hope you feel better soon! I think you should go to the ER or something to have your nose checked out just in case.

Haha I woke up this morning and ran to the mirror but I was lucky. No black eyes. :) My nose still hurts though, I was helping at a pool for 3 hours tonight so I had no time to go to a doctor but I'm gonna go tomorrow. :)

Well, at least you have no black eye. That's really good. It's embarrassing trying to explain to friends how you got it in the first place. It's even weirder going out in public with strangers giving you a funny look like your boyfriend or husband must be a gf/wife beater or something.

Never broken anything. But when I was 6 years old, I slammed a door shut. Crushing my hand. I remembering going to the doctor with my mom who told me I was very lucky, If I had slammed the door any harder, I would've lost my fingers. Don't know if that means it was broken though.

It healed very good, so good that I can't remember which hand it actually was :p

The first year I went snowboarding, I managed to break my tailbone trying to slow down from an immense speed. I landed in full speed on a piece of ice right on my tailbone. I couldn't move for 10 minutes and felt the pain all the way to my neck. I kept boarding for the rest of the week, untill the last day when I tore a muscle in my abdomen. I was rushed to the hospital where they took x-rays. One one of those, you could see my tailbone. The doctor was like, "Hey, does your tailbone hurt? 'Cuz that one is broken." :p
This was 6 years ago, and I still can't sit on a chair for an entire hour without pain. :borg:

I managed to do something to my tailbone. What it was I'm not entirely sure. However it involved doing sit ups on a concrete sports hall floor and it went. May have been the tip breaking off or just heavy bruising. Either way I didn't go to the hospital and I wish I had done. Couldn't sit or stand without immense pain for weeks or even lie in a comfortable position. That was 7 years ago and I now have to have a coccyx cushion to sit on if I'm sitting for long periods of time.
I also broke my thumb playing netball aged 14. Minor break but suffer from mobility problems with it now as I damaged ligaments badly. Apart from that I was accident prone as a kid. I sprained wrists and ankles, had 2 nose x-rays taken, bruised my shoulder and knees very badly and generally required a first aid kit at least twice a term at school. I learned first aid and have had to do it more times on myself than anybody else lol.
