Re: A New Fight

The doctor came back with the papers and Mac had to let go of Stella to start filling them out, even though he wanted to keep holding her.

"I can't escape the paperwork no matter where I go" he said, half joking, half annoyed.

Re: A New Fight

Flack lightly smiled to Aiden, kissing back before getting dressed and washing up. He chose to wear a sweatshirt, red tee shirt, and a pair of loose jeans. Flack splashed some cold water onto his face to wake himself up more and get his mind kicked into gear.

Re: A New Fight

Aiden came back in, wearing a pair of jeans that lightly clinged to her, and a black lacy shirt, she smirked at him, and licked her lips.

Re: A New Fight

Flack reached over blindly and grabbed a towel to dry his face on, still feeling the water run down his cheeks and a bit down his neck. He heard Aiden behind him, smirking a little. "You ready?" he asked, voice muffled by the towel as he dryed his face off.

Re: A New Fight

Flack turned after he hung the towel back up, looking to Aiden with a light smile. "Let's go, then," he said. Flack went and grabbed his gun, wallet, ID, cell and keys reflexively, putting each at their respectful place in a matter of seconds.

Re: A New Fight

Lindsay nodded and hugged him tighter. The first person that had really made her first impression on New York was Mac. He was like her father figure in a lot of diffrent ways. If she ever had a problem, Mac would be there for her. Although she was too stubborn to use that priveledge, she had used it once, and it helped her out a lot. Now she was going to have to be there for Mac, no matter how painful it was. No one want's to see what they think of as their father lying in a hospital bed and not being able to do anything about it. There is no justice that can be served, and there is nothing they can do to get any closure, which is what most people need in order to feel that justice was served. But this time, there was no one to take her revenge out on. This was purely genetic, and it wasn't like his parents ever wanted this to happen. It was no one's fault, and Lindsay didn't know if she could handle that. Her whole carrer trained her to find out who did what the whom, and this time it was diffrent. This time the blame could be put on no one. She wanted closure, and she wasn't getting it. That was the hardest part about it all.

(I pulled that straight from you-know-where lol what surprises me is that its actually kinda accurate.)

Re: A New Fight

Aiden grabbed her keys, cell and wallet, and smiled at him, "Lets go" and started walking towards the door.

Re: A New Fight

(It was good, Jess)

Danny kept Lindsay close, rubbing her back softly and letting her stay there for as long as she wanted. He remembered all that Mac had helped him through and the playful banter they'd do on occasion, that bringing a smile to his visage. He knew that it wasn't going to be the last time. It couldn't be. And Mac couldn't wind up dying. Hell, Danny didn't even think it was possible.
--
Flack nodded and followed her out, locking up his appartment after they stepped out into the hallway. He was now unusually quiet, not having much to say after he found out the news.

Re: A New Fight

(I have no idea where it came from.)
Lindsay sniffled a bit and rested her head on Danny's chest. "Do you think he'll fight through it? Do you think he'll be able to beat it?" she asked him. Just having Danny with her made her feel very lucky. She didn't know where she would be without him, or if she would still be thinking rationally if he wasn't there. She was so in love it was rediculous.

Re: A New Fight

Mac was finishing up the papers, still thinking about his future. The surgeries he could get though; it was the drugs and chemo that would be hardest. Nausea, exhaustion, weight loss, hair loss...feeling like crap constantly...he knew that'd be a hard thing to tough out, but if he had to he had to.

One thing had been lucky; the doctors had found no evidence thus far of anything in his lungs; he was told brain tumors were a frequent secondary site for lung cancer metastasis, but though they'd keep watching and testing, he was lucky there it seemed.

"Stel, you should know...these things might make something happen...They can alter behavior, make a person say something or act in a way they normally wouldn't. And if it happens, just remember that it's not really me, it's this" He pointed at his head. "I wouldn't hurt you, ever." he said.

"And I wanted to talk to you about one other thing. You're the highest ranked person on the team besides me, and I know you're capable. When I have to take the leave of absence for the drugs and stuff, I want to make you a supervisor if I can. If it's approved and okay with you. I know that I'll be able to rest easy if you're looking after everyone while i'm gone, and I trust you completely."

Re: A New Fight

Aiden wrapped an arm around his shoulder, "It'll be fine" and kissed his cheek, partly reassuring himself and her.

Re: A New Fight

Stella started to cry. "Mac, I know you would never hurt me intentially. And I would be honored to act as Supervisor while you gone, but you've got to come back I can't lose you." She told him.

"I really care about you, you know?"

Re: A New Fight

"He's gotta.. I mean, he's Mac for Christ's sake," Danny said with a weak laugh. Right now, they were both acting as eachother's anchor.
-
Flack looked to her and nodded weakly. "Thanks, Aid," he said, reaching to lace their fingers together.
