Re: A New Fight

Hawkes laughed a bit. He had the old Danny back. "I'll do that Danny." Hawkes said before turning to go back to the car. "You're lucky I love you Lindsay." he said before looking at the dent in his car. "Damn." he said before getting into his car and driving back to the lab.

Lindsay on the other hand, went back home, getting a ride from a cab. She walked back into her apartment, where it all started. She walked past the tiny pool of blood, not looking at it, and went straight to her bedroom. She closed herself in and stared out her window again, looking out to as far as she could see. For some reason, sitting by the window had always calmed her.

Re: A New Fight

Aiden waited a minute, trying to process everything in her head, and then she glared at him angerly, "You're kidding me, right?" She clinched her fists, and turned around to keep from hitting him.

Re: A New Fight

Danny soon found himself outside Lindsay's appartment building and looking up to her floor, standing there in the rain for a while. Do I really want to do this? he asked himself before walking into the bulding and going to her floor to knock on her door.
-----
Flack sighed weakly, reaching out to Aiden and gently wrapping his arms around her. "I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry.. I was edgy about doin' it, and we didn't go any farther than losin' our shirts. I swear to you, that's all that happened," he told her softly.

Re: A New Fight

Lindsay was brought out of her tranz whene ther ewas a knock on her door. She walked past the blood again, not looking at it. She wondered who it was. She was pretty sure it wasn't Danny, since he was probably out of the state by now. Or so she thought. She was startled when she opened the door. She jumped back, almost as if he were a monster in a closet. "Danny?" she asked. "What are you doing here?" she asked, now regretting not covering up the blood pool. she stepped back to let him in. "I didn't think you would even want to look at me after that, let alone come to my apartment."

Re: A New Fight

Danny hadn't stepped into her appartment yet, just looking at her for a while, his trenchcoat and hair wet from the rain with a bit of his underclothing. He wasn't shaking or shivering, just looking at Lindsay. "I heard you on the phone with Hawkes," he finally said. "He had you on speakerphone and I was standin' right there." Danny finally stepped into Lindsay's appartment, looking around the room a bit and noticing the blood on the floor, the bloody key and then the bandage on Lindsay's wrist.

"Just thought I'd come see how you were doing.. seeing as you were all ready discharged from the hospital an' all," Danny said, lying of course, but all his emotions were hidden behind a solemn mask. "I probably shouldn't stay too long.. I've downed 'bout twelve painkillers today, and I've gone off my rocker, as you can see," he said, motioning to the bruise and split lip. He had left his glasses as home and put on his contacts, so his face looked a little more older.

Re: A New Fight

Lindsay helped him with his coat and everything else. "Oh, Danny." she told him apoligetiacally. She looked up at him and took in what he looked like. He looked horrible. "You shouldn't do that to youreslf." she said, which was ironic considering what she had just done to herself. She went into her bedroom, grabbing a pair of men's pajamas that she always kept in her drawer, just incase. Being the country girl she was, she was prepared for anything. "Here Danny, get changed into these." she told him as she held out the pajamas. "You look cold, and I don't really feel comfortable with you going home in the condition you're in." she said, still keeping her caring voice.

She then adressed what he frist said. "So you heard me huh?" she asked, shrugging a bit. "I guess I sound like a real jackass." she said softly.

Re: A New Fight

Danny smiled a little, soon pulling his long sleeved shirt over his head to reveal a dry tanktop and a couple more bruises. "Thanks.." he said quietly before laughing lightly. "No, don't even go there," Danny soon said to her last comment. "You don't even measure up to what crap I pulled this evening.." Danny was about to go change when he paused and just gazed at Lindsay. Not once since seeing her again did he picture his hands around her neck or anything of the sort. Damn you Hawkes and your wisdom.. he thought.

Re: A New Fight

Lindasy just stood there, staring at the floor until she heard him pause. She glanced over his shoulder, looking like a broken woman, who was just trying to pick up the pieces to her life. She looked down the the floor once more before turning around completely. "What?" she asked softly, not wanting to make it sound harsh. She was just wondering what he was thinking about.

Re: A New Fight

Danny silently reached out and touched her cheek for a moment, tilting her head up a little to look into her eyes, still hidden behind a blank mask. "I'm sorry," he told her in a quiet tone before dropping his hand and going to change in the washroom. After he was done changing, he looked in the mirror and winced. "Jesus, what the hell did I do?" he asked himself aloud, staring at his beat up face and then his knuckles, having a better view of what he looked like under the light. He now just hoped that man he attacked on the street was fairing okay. Danny soon destincly remembered denting Hawkes' car, making a note to pay for that.

Re: A New Fight

Lindsay just looked at him for a bit, watching him go to the bathroom the change. She closed her eyes for a moment. Replaying what just happened in her head. She touched her cheek where he had, feeling it tingle from when he had touched it. He was the only one who could do that to her. He was the only one who could go through all of that, and still love him. She went into her bedroom, feeling the need to pull up her hair, since she thought pulling up her hair usually made her feel more free. Besides, it left more space for Danny to touch her. She put a few clips in it to hold it up, and then went back out to the living room, just standing and staring out the window again.

Re: A New Fight

Danny soon emerged from the bathroom, folding his wet clothed up and placing them on the floor next to his jacket. He'd chosen to keep his tanktop on instead of changing out of that. Danny soon went to the kitchen and got a few cleaning supplies from under the sink and a roll of paper towels and wordlessly set to work on removing the pool of blood. He didn't care if he got her blood on his hands, but rather used the image of a reminder of what could happen in the future. Once he was done, he threw out the papertowels, washed up and put everything away again. It was then he went to Lindsay and stood close next to her.

Re: A New Fight

Lindsay watched as he cleaned up the pool of blood. She would have helped him if she had noticed that he was doing it earlier. She was really glad that he was here. She didn't know what things she would be doing if she was stuck in her apartment by herself. She watched as he came back over to her. She was still utterly baffled that he was even here. She didn't think that she would see him for a long time, maybe not even for the rest of her life, but something must have changed his mind. She liked the feel of him close to her. It just felt right, like he should be there filling that spot.

After a few minutes of silence, Lindsay finally conjured up something to say. "Danny, you didn't have to do that, I would have cleaned it up." she told him, desperate to break the silence that had settled between them.

Re: A New Fight

Danny looked over to her after breaking his gaze from the window. "I have a lot of things to make up for.. an' I haven't even started.. Don't worry 'bout it," he replied to her with a slight smile. Danny soon took in a deep breath then slowly let it out, feeling strangly calm for all that had happened that evening. With all the painkillers he took that day, he was one, amazed he wasn't in the hospital by now, and two, numb to any pain his body was feeling. Danny took a look at his knuckles, judging by his right hand being swollen he figured he'd fractured something, but as long as he didn't feel it, he didn't care. Danny soon looked up to Lindsay again, smiling lightly.
------
Flack hugged Aiden back tightly to him. "By all means, do so, I won't stop you. I deserve it," he replied to her.

Re: A New Fight

Lindsay turned to him. She wasn't ready to smile yet tonight. She was still in awe about all the events of the day. She looked down to his knuckles, seeing how bright red they were. She then looked him over and saw all the bruises and his split lip. "I'm so sorry Danny." she told him as she hung her head. "I provoked you when I shouldn't have, this is all my fault." she said, running her fingers lightly over his knuckles. "Why don't you go lay down in my bed, I'll take the couch tonight."
