"All In" Season Finale Discussion *SPOILERS*

Riley's a bitch.
And unless you can tell us what your reasoning is for the comment I would like to referre you to the rule for "Show Criticism" the part which states "It's fine to say a certain aspect of CSI is bad, and as long as you actually back up what you say. Jumping in and shouting "Willows sucks!" is not an acceptable form of constructive criticism."

Well. I sure hope they show this as a rerun before the series premiers next season because it was that forgettable,I'll definitely not remember it.

Did anybody else hear the death bell toll? I fear my show is dying. (Based on this terrible season finale):(:(:(

On the bright side we did get more Greg than usual tonight,a glimpse of Mandy and some Catherine. :)

Nothing like attempting to squeeze juice for a piece of wood.:)

I'll throw in my lowly opinion. There are good things about the new team and I do miss the ones who are gone. It just hasn't been as interesting as seasons past. I miss Nick since George injured his back and hasn't been able to participate as Nick would have. The season ending last season was mind blowing and a real cliff hanger. This season's ending was " This is it?"
I will be looking forward to George healing so that Nick can be a big part of season 10. I hope the writers will come up with more juicy scenes for the rest of the cast. Here's to bigger and better shows ahead.

This kind of reminds me of the one CSI:Miami season finale... I think it was "Born to Kill". It was okay as an episode, but was a very poor finale.

Pretty much the whole team got to have a scene or two, which is something that you'd want in a finale, but in general it just didn't feel like it. It felt like the beginning of a Ray Arc, which is more fitting of a premiere or just a regular episode. This just felt out of place. I got a huge feeling of wanting more from it. It wasn't cliffhangery, it was just... ended. No climax, no big bad guy, no character in danger, no ending.

All in all a lackluster finale for a lackluster season, IMO.

According to internet chat, Grey's had a hell of a finale (offed 2 characters).

So, me thinks tomorrow's ratings won't look so hot. Did anyone switch back and forth?

At least with the two offed characters, Grey's ratings will hopefully drop next season though...

Well, CSI never did the 'big' OMG episodes, ever. I can't even think of a distinctive sweeps episode. Well, except season 5 finale.

I am betting they had to re-write a lot of the last bit of the season, to write out Nick. Marg probably doesn't want as much screen time, and they seem to hate Greg. So they are left with the newbies...and Hodges.

It was alright...i still like Ray's character.

I watched the second hour of Grey's (it was a 2 hr. finale). It actually was more of a cliffhanger; and I have to say, there was a twist at the end that I didn't see coming. I thought it was well done. I don't think we know for sure who lives or dies; but if they lose Katharine Heigl I think their ratings may suffer.

To be honest most of my tv shows have had really great finales. CSI has been the biggest disappointment.

Well that sucked, It feels like Ray has been in all but 10 scenes since he started full time in episode 11. Way to much overload. I am so sick of looking at his character. I missed Nick in this episode but I understand why George couldn't do it. These writers are really annoying me. They've gotta come up with better story lines. The NY finale on the other hand was great and made CSI's look just plain weak. Overall, a very disappointing season. Here are my top 5 episodes...

5. One to Go (Grissom's exit. The case was okay and it had a nice ending.)

4.The Grave Shift (Ray's first day on the job. I didn't hate Ray for being a screen hog then and it was a nice team episode. Loved the scene with Nick, Riley, and Greg at the end.)

3. No Way Out (One of the more dramatic episodes this season. The hostage situation was okay and had drama most of the other episodes didn't.)

2. Turn Turn Turn (A great episode. Nick first storyline since like season 6. George had a great performance and the episode was great start to finish. The only thing that would have made it better would have been if Gary Dourdan could of guest starred because of the flashbacks.)

1. For Warrick (One of the greatest CSI episodes ever. I almost wanted to cry it was so moving. Every aspect of this episode was amazing. Only Grave Danger from season 5 might be better.)

Now the worst 5....

5. The Descent of a Man

4. Say Uncle

3. All In (Horrible season Finale)

2. A Space Oddity

1. Mascara (Possibly the worst episode ever. Nuff said.)

Anyone agree? What are your 5?

Riley was totally and completely in the right to be upset. Langston could have gotten himself killed. That guy could have very easily pulled the trigger on his own gun and at that close a range, he could and would have most likely killed Ray instantly. So I agree with Riley that it was very stupid/reckless what Ray did. However, Ray is also a doctor, so his doctor intincts came out over his CSI instincts. So, I can kind of see both sides. But, mostly I agree with Riley.

Moving on, who actually killed the first vic? Was it Gerald McRaney's character or the younger guy? I'm confused.

~Nick? WTF??! Langston is not able to hold down the fort. First of all Catherine is supervisor. Second of all, Greg and Riley are both higher ranked than Ray. I know it was probably meant to be funny or something, but it's not.

That bugged me too. Though I don't think Nick meant it as "you're in charge while I'm gone". I think he probably just meant it as in "look after everyone while I'm gone" because well, he didn't see Cath then and Ray is older and the only other male on the team who carries a gun (excluding Brass). Or it could have just be a passing comment like someone would say "be good while I'm gone" or something to that effect.

I'm not sure I like the idea of Nick studying entomology. Couldnt' they just call Griss if they ever needed bug related help? Nick's a bird guy not a bug guy. Continuity is missing here. Nick HATES bugs after the whole being buried and bitten by ants thing. I can't fathom him wanting to study them and be the new bug guy. No way. That's just stupid and irresponsible writing in my book. Hodges would have been the better one to become the bug guy. Not Nick who HATES bugs. Grrr... dumb writers. Can't remember what they previously wrote. Ugh!

~"And I think she's a little trigger happy." Why? She didn't shoot anyone. She was trying to keep you from getting killed. Shut up.

That got on my freakin' nerves. It was like retaliation. Ray's too old for that kind of immature garbage. So Riley says he was reckless (which is totally true) and he comes back with "well she's trigger happy". Childish, anyone?

~Who's trigger happy now, jerk?

Hehe. Isn't it ironic that he calls her trigger happy then he's the one who actually shoots someone? LMAO!

We got a little peek into his past by his box. He was in the military and received a metal I am assuming it was him, anyway.

I thought it was a son/brother who was maybe killed in action or something. It wasn't really explained.

Missed the Stumpy/Hole in the head part.

Me too, Mel. I sometimes end up missing several of Brass' good lines. I don't know why.

According to Rambo, they love Greg and he's one of their favorites to write for. How often does that show though?

Ray called the CSI job his "day" job. Funny... I thought it was the grave/night shift.

Hodges: It's not porno, it's a life style. Loved Wendy's expression when Hodges said that.

Riley: I love guns. We know!

Rya: I'll lead this time. - nice continuity there. Remember when Riley wouldn't let him go first cause he wasn't carrying a gun? hehe.

Brass: You got a real knack for making dead people happy.

Overall grade: C. If it was a regular episode, but since its a season finale and poor excuse for one, grade is D-.

Summary:
- Okay, other than the really crappy who-the-heck cares ending, that was a good episode! However, the writers had been so intent on showing the closeness of the new team, with the lunch get togethers & other bonding things after Grissom left, then all of a sudden they seemed to have dropped that. It would have been great to have that for the ending here – reminiscent of the season 1 finale – instead of the somewhat nose-wrinkling ending that we got. I’d have taken any of the last two or three episodes to be season finales over this one.

- So great to see Gerald McRaney again. I first saw him back in the day in the series, Major Dad. Then with Marg in “Blind Vengeance”, and of course, the series “Jericho” a couple years ago. Bummer that there was no Marg/Gerald scenes. I hate when they do that! People that have worked together previously usually have a chemistry when they’re paired up again. Why don’t they ever take advantage of that?

- Loved the Sam references. I wish we’d get a few flashbacks with Scott Wilson. That would make me smile. I’m glad Greg can be the voice of Old Vegas now. Although, Hodges’ knowledge of that Button Company kind of raised my eyebrow a bit.

- Great team distribution in this episode. Yes, there was a lot of Ray, but some decent Riley, Hodges, and even Wendy screen time, as well as an Ecklie appearance. Not quite enough of Greg though.

- At least there’s a little bit more of something resembling character development for Riley here. And I couldn’t help but notice how ‘refreshed’ Lauren looked in this episode. Lauren just recently got married, so maybe she’s bringing some of that happiness to her character. Or, maybe it’s just that she hadn’t been on a whole lot lately, other than a few ‘routine’ scenes, and I’ve missed her.

- I liked the uniform officer. However, I don’t like when they show them seemingly incapable of doing their job – slipping on the chips while chasing the suspect, walking outside the house while trying to talk on his phone, etc.

I had to watch it later as I was outvoted - everyone else wanted to watch Hell's Kitchen.
So I decided to type my reaction as I watch it.

People gambling... what's new? It's Vegas
A woman opening up her diner, a homeless guy in a car? Kinda normal I guess.
And back to the casino
People jack hammering... and then back to the casino
Back to the diner... and the casino again
Guy in a hospital... and what the hell is stuck in that man? WTF? Why is he holding a knife to the doctors?
Is Langston volunteering at a hospital?
Oh there's the dead guy
What's with all the buttons?

Where is Al or David? Riley and Hodges are in the morgue with the dead body
Oh, shoe prints, typical
Nick going to Hawaii? Fun, but I don't know about going for some workshop
I take it Langston's father was in the military?
There's Robbins - with the bullet in Catherine's office
I was wondering why they kept showing that diner, now I know, the dead guy worked there
Ah good, rain took out the fire
And it's the car from the beginning of the show
Blood and a twenty two
Okay, a bunch of things that famous dead mobsters touched
Earrings made of chips, hmm

Wow, that's a lot of chips considering how many they thought there were
I guess this guy could be the killer, but I have my doubts at the moment
Ah, a connection to the many buttons on his jacket
There goes the suspect running, well liming away
Could he be under the tarp? Yes, he is
And some old gambling chips in the hole

So somebody buried the chips in the ground and then put concrete on top of them? That explains it
Looks like they amputated his leg
Well, I guess the old man did kill the guy
Or maybe Bruno did kill Houston? What was his motive?
Oh, so Nevada has to pay out money to whoever has the chips, oh I see he wants them all confiscated as evidence before people start trying to cash in
Well, she's clearly dead as well now

Oh and now he has accumulated more chips
Ah, so he does know about the fact that the chips can be cashed in
Now someone else is involved
She was married? So the husband killed her and was selling the chips I take it
Wow, that's quite a lot of chips in that car
Did Ray just kill the husband? I think he did.

Overall, I didn't think it was all that great. Sure it was a good episode but I don't think it was a very good season finale.
