"Leave Out All the Rest" Discussion *SPOILERS*

They did not solve this case. I liked it, they always find something, it's a little more realistic if they don't close ever case. I belive this is the second one in eight years.

As for the Nick, Greg, Riley sex talk, I think Nick was just sick of all the sex talk. Listening to people go on and on about their kinks gets old. Fast.

Hey, remember in the third and fourth season when Greg was chomping at the bit to get out in field? Now Hodges gets sent out twice? WTfreakingF:scream:

As for Nicky, I can see everyone's takes on it...I honestly saw it as playful and kind of "ok ya'll, get back to work" comment, but at the same time, he wasn't exactly lashing out at them...and Nick CAN be a lot like Grissom, in that when something needs done (in this case, info needed gotten and sent to Grissom ASAP) he'll get it done at the expense of a light hearted atmosphere...if a crime scene with a dead body and weird sex toys can be lighthearded...hahaha
Actually, I took that scene as a bit of a flashback to the original Lady H episode, Slaves of Las Vegas when Cath & Nick were processing the pool house at Lady Heather's.
-->"CATH: Just because you never did it doesn't mean you never could.
NICK: No way, never gonna happen"<--
I think he's still a bit squeamish talking about the S&M stuff, and that's why he put a halt to the Riley/Greg conversation.

Some other points:
* Melinda Clarke ROCKS!!
* Did you guys realize that you were actually watching "the team" in action? That's what it's going to be - Cath, Nick, Greg, and Riley working the case with a little help from the lab rats. Grissom off on a tangent. I thought that was a nice subtlety by TPTB in this one. yes, there was lots of Grissom in this episode, but "the team" was doing the work.
* Cath & Hodges - LOL those two crack me up!
* Jorja looks great, but the continuous Sara video was annoying.

I can't remember the rest of the points right now. You can check out my full review at this link

To me, it seems out of character for Lady Heather to sleep with Grissom, especially when he's heartbroken and vulnerable like this. Last time, there was the promise of more between them, until he accused her of being a suspect in their investigation. And I know her profession and everything, but I never pictured her as someone who had random sex a lot, she even said that S/M was more about fantasies and the human mind than sex. I think she's too independent to acquisece that easily.

Sooo, I don't really have a point to this lol, I just wanted to put two cents in and say that I find it unbelievable that she would jump into bed with him, both because of how confused Grissom is and because of how she tends to remain very stoic, and even if she was still attracted to him, wouldn't put herself in the position to be hurt by him again or feel used. So I don't know what to think about that last scene.

Feel free to tell me this makes no sense :)

Yeah, I was thinking about that scene in SOLV too, but I couldn't remember the comments. All I remembered was that S&M made Nicky uncomfortable.

Good point. I didn't think about it that way. Yeah, all Grissom was doing was discussing the case with Heather. He wasn't out there working on the case. Well, he was at first, but then he just walked away and went to see Heather.

And I know her profession and everything, but I never pictured her as someone who had random sex a lot, she even said that S/M was more about fantasies and the human mind than sex.

Yeah and the people that worked for Heather weren't supposed to actually have sex with the clients. I think I remember her saying that one time.

I find it unbelievable that she would jump into bed with him, both because of how confused Grissom is and because of how she tends to remain very stoic, and even if she was still attracted to him, wouldn't put herself in the position to be hurt by him again or feel used.

Yeah, I agree. I think she probably knows if they did, she'd be the rebound since his relationship with Sara just seemingly ended (for now anyway). And I don't think Heather would enjoy being the rebound.

I did love that she's now a therapist. But they never really told us if Gil's guess that she was a sex therapist was correct or not.

Yeah and Nicky may have slept with a hooker, but that may be as kinky as he gets. He's not a prude, but he's from Texas and was probably raised to believe that "you don't talk about such things in mixed company" or "a gentleman never talks about his sex life". So, it probably makes him a little uncomfortable to hear that kind of talk. Remember the first ep of the series when Greg said something to Nick (I'm sure it was case related, but it was something to do with sex if I recall) and Nick just turned about twenty shades of red. He's very uncomfortable talking about that kind of stuff.

Yeah, that bugged me too. Though I loved that Cath told him he was her last choice. I guess they needed Wendy in DNA that day. I got why Hodges went to the scene with Cath in the ep with the old couple who died in their bed ... cause they needed his sense of smell, but what was his purpose of being there in tonight's eppy? Couldn't they have borrowed a CSI from day or swing shift if they were that short handed?

Most provocative Lady Heather episode to date, my ass! What was so provocative about that? Yeah, Grissom asked her to stay with him but that doesn't mean they had sex. I don't like this Grissom...pining away, withering away. Yeah, he's lost a good friend and a girlfriend but man...suck it up!! It's getting to be dragging and tiresome. WTF has happened to Grissom? Yeah, they brought Lady Heather back but then it all had to be about GSR. Surprise, surprise!! [sarcasm] Regarding Sara's video message, good for her. I think it would be best if they don't get back together.

I like commanding Nick BTW. It's really good to see the team just working one case and yeah, Hodges out in the field sucking his booboo was hilarious. I even liked the fact that they weren't able to solve the case entirely. I like it that left it hanging. Kinda makes you wonder if they'll ever revisit it again.

Lady Heather was about to close the guest room door when he asked her to stay. I think she's got too much decency to take advantage of someone so broken, plus I think she understood he was asking her to stay with him because he didn't want to be alone, not to stay and have sex. It's her turn to take care of him, like he did for her after her daughter died and when she lost the custody battle for her grandaughter. Much as I feel they could be a great couple because they complement each other so well, TGTB seem to be sold on Grissom's and Sara's mutually destructive relationship. We know Sara comes back later in the season; I guess her months at sea will have miraculously cured her lifetime of trauma so they can ride off into the sunset together.

If I keep watching this show I am going to have to get on an anti-depressant...Emo-Grissom is just a shell of a man right now, maybe the powers that be are trying to get us to dislike the character....It's working...I dreaded another flashback to Sara in a boat sailing the high seas telling Grissom she is just sooooooooooooooo happy...okay let's be happy and end this one way or another...this is getting way too much! I am starting to suffer from PTSD or PTSSLV (post-trauma since Sara left Vegas) syndrome.

I am seeing some major personality shifts which I like, Nick now the mature CSI and Catherine, more in charge.

Riley and Gregg and just young and it shows......I wonder if his book deal fell through or if he is now an author?

I hated one thing though....the one case that Grissom is not working on goes south...tanks....no clue of the killers whatsoever? They need to go back to the crime scenes and readdress their new theory and see what they missed........I hated them to fail......and I aked myself ...Why would TPTB want the team to fail.....aren't they trying to show that they are capable of moving forward once Grissom is gone?

I am scratching my head this morning with so many questions....Did he or didn't he? My guess is that he did....she had that look on her face and it was still there the second time I watched it.....which is fine with me...maybe it will move this show forward and we can all be happy again!

I liked that they did not solve the case because it really is more realistic. More cases go unsolved in the real world than solved. I did not see it as the team failing...I saw it as reality.

I think the mysterious killers will show up in a couple more episodes...or at least their victims will. Isn't that the reason the Laurence Fishburn character comes in? He's a specialist in the minds of dangerous killers, right? I think they're laying the ground work for for his arrival.

And if that's not the case, I think it's more realistic if they don't always catch the bad guys. In real life, some people actually do get away with murder.

Sorry, but I happen to disagree that Nick was in the right.

Yes, I'm quite aware that Nick is a level 3, just as I'm aware that Greg and Riley can joke AND work at the same time.

No kidding? They were at a crime scene?

I never ship. I was in no way shipping a Nick/Greg relationship.

They're all grieving for Warrick in some form or another, and if a little levity helps to alleviate some of the pain, then so be it.

There's a time and a place to joke around. If it was one or two jokes than it would have been fine. But Greg and Riley were going on and on and it was getting old fast. I was getting tired of it too.

Nick is their superior and he was trying to meet a time line.

And he also knows how at times Greg can go a little overboard with his humour and so he simply trying to put a wrap on it.

And yes there was a time when Grissom disciplined Nick and Warrick for doing the same thing, and Nick learned from it and is passing it on to Greg.

As for Grissom and Lady H, I didn't realy see anything provocative about this episode. All I saw was a broken man going to an old friend's house and yeah they probably did the deed.

By the way, who looked after Grissom's dog Hank.

I don't thin Grissom and LH did the deed, for the simple reason that Grissom is really, really down and I think all of him is down, if you know what I mean.

Not good........I kept tuning out and thinking of other stuff and missing parts of the ep.

The Hodges bit was funny.

I think Nick said what he did partly because it reminded him of what he would've done if it had been him and Warrick. Like someone else I think the grief is going to come trickling out slowly. I think that Grissom leaving might just be what tips him over since he will have lost three team members in under a year (or whatever the CSI timeline is)

LOL!

As for Hank: Here's the scenario

Grissom walks in and sees Hank sitting there with his little bag packed.

Grissom: You're leaving me too..

Hank nodding: ruff! ruff!

Grissom: Where are you going?

The door knocks and there's Nick waiting: C'mon Hank!

Grissom looks at Nick and Hank: traitors!

I really liked this episode. My fave bits:
*Lady H - loved the bit when she said about her psychology masters. Of course she's gonna be a sex therapist!

*The whole Cath/Hodges bit - hilarious!!

*The case was interesting, there's definitely going to be more from the psychos who did it, which would be a pretty cool storyline

I have to say, while it was quite a big bit of the plot, the way they kept cutting to and from Sara's video irritated me slightly

Overall loved the ep and the use of Linkin Park's amazing song. Bring on the next one!!!
