See I don't think it as bashing but people being able to voice their frustration over the initial spoilers, Nick Stokes finds Warrick's body slumped over the steering wheel of his car.

It is what it is....
call it what you want but everybody has an opinion....and I won't bash you for yours, though I do agree with so many here...we are all entitled to what we believe...the one reason I joined this site yesterday was because it wasn't a totally GSR or WP driven board, a place where everybody can have an opinion without feeling that you are in a minority, more equal than the others.!

Well it is bashing when people say the only reason its written like this is because all WP wants is an emmy. I'm afraid that all the boards lately have become a bit more narrowly focussed on individual characters. I love Nick but some of the nick sites have become so anti-Grissom that it is hard to read them anymore. I have never been a fan of GSR but I still like to read YTDAW. But then they bash WP for bringing back Lady Heather.

My only issue with the difference of opinion is that some of the attacks on WP the actor have become pretty personal. We all have ways we'd like things to be written and there will be people who don't like this particular version of things while there are others that will be delighted. The Catherine people I suspect would like her to find Warrick. Everybody's favorite character will get their place in the sun regarding the upcoming angst and grief.

Well, I agree there should be no personal attacks and what I am saying is that it's not WP who wants the emmy but the writers possibly seeing it as their final opportunity to give their actor of eight years that final shot at one. We do know that Mendlesjohn (sp) and Peterson have a close friendship and why would she not want that for her friend but then why would she mess with the continuity of the show...yes, Warrick is the Rock of Grissom's team but if they wanted an emotional and heart ripping moment then the man of angst should be at Warrick's side and that is Nick....Catherine had been beside two men as they died, possible three if you count Eddie, so it would be a rerun of her emotions...but Nick would be new,it would show us what man love is all about!!!!!! Seeing the love between these two characters is a real turn on for me...I love the man love, brotherly love and they are real friends in life as well, it would be tremendous!!!! But looks like an opportunity lost!

One thing I've been wondering, though ... where did this spoiler come from? I mean, in looking at some of the spoiler sites, I've seen all sorts of stuff. I've come to the conclusion that anyone could pretty much post *anything* as a spoiler and it would eventually make its way onto other sites. I know we've had some info from CM and NS about general storylines coming up, but other than that it's all just stuff that various sources - some credible, some certainly not - are tossing out there. I'm not sure that the writers have done a 180 ... maybe they never intended for Nick to find him. Or maybe they did ... and maybe he will ... I'm still not convinced this scenario that's been posted is the real deal, even if it is reported to be from an official source.

Ali

AMEN, COULDN'T HAVE SAID IT BETTER!!
I have chosen, recently, to NOT post spoilers on my wiki due to the often wrong items given out and posted by "insiders" that have (from my exprience), been totally wrong.

So what is gonna happen with Nicky? He comes out of the diner to see Grissom holding his best friend's lifeless body and then Nicky says "oh my god"?

If Grissom is really the one that finds Warrick, then I hope we at least get a scene where Nicky has a nightmare that he's the one to find Warrick and that he gets to be the one to last speak to Warrick before he dies.

But, at least it sounds like the last face Warrick sees is a friendly one and not McKeen.

^^ I really would be okay with that. We don't know that Nick doesn't come outside at one point and finds Warrick and Grissom. The more I think about it, the more I like it. Especially if Warrick died without Nick getting to say good bye ... angsty!Nick time.

Here's the spoiler from the other site. I really hate to post this for obvious reasons, but I digress, so you all can see.

The GSR is brief, but wonderful.
Sara appears at the end of Act II. Grissom, who, btw, looks very hot in this episode as he goes through a range of emotions we've never seen from him before (far more than in Dead Doll) has had to strip off his shirt because it's evidence. So he puts on his dark blue CSI windbreaker.
We see him from the back walking through the halls of the lab and into his office. Sara is there, leaning against his desk, looking much prettier and softer than in previous seasons.
Grissom stops in his tracks. They just regard one another for a few seconds, then embrace. Sara tells him she caught the first plane out (We have to assume Grissom called her, but we aren't privy to the call).
Her voice is very shaky. Grissom says nothing. They just continue to hold one another. Their facial expressions say everything.

Cut to commercial.
When we come back from the commercial break, Grissom and Sara are sitting in occasional chairs, facing one another, about knee-to-knee, and she's holding his hands in hers. He says, "Warrick didn't want to go."
She says, "Tell me."
Grissom: "God, Sara, I could feel his life..."
Grissom- (con't): "I thought if I could hold him tight enough ..."
Sara: "There's nowhere he would have rather been at the end. He loved you."
Grissom: "Yeah. I loved him."
Of course all of this is accompanied by incredible facial expression work by WP.
More to follow soon!
Continued from spoiler above & same information source; What follows is part of the
full scene leading up to the opening credits -- from the show, not from any CBS promos. (I obtained
a loan) the DVD of the episode as it was distributed to TV critics by
CBS.The full episode. Unless CBS pulled a fast one for some reason,
an expensive and destructive thing to do, what I saw is the episode
as it will air. Private sources own words. A man's voice is calling in an "officer down"
alert to the cops, and we see Jeffrey McKeen walking away from
Warrick's car as he makes the call.

Cut to: Grissom is standing at an
outdoor newsstand, flipping through a magazine (Traveler). His car
windows are open (I think this must be his personal car, not the crime
lab's SUV), and he has a hand-held police radio on the passenger seat.
The radio is calling for units to respond to the officer down call just received. At first,
Grissom is paying only half attention. Then,
as he realizes the gravity of the call and the fact that the location
is near his, he walks toward his car to hear better. When the location
is repeated, he glances up the street, realizing it's where
he's just come from.

Cut to: the bottom of the alley with Warrick's car about 30 yards
away. Grissom appears there and studies the car for a moment, then
starts running full tilt toward it. When he gets there, he looks in
the open passenger window and sees Warrick as we left him in May. He
hauls the door open and ducks inside and studies Warrick for a second
(we don't see it, but he might be checking for a pulse at the neck).
He then wrestles Warrick's body out of the car and lays him on the
ground, calling his name. Warrick chokes out blood on the front of
Grissom's shirt, and Grissom takes off his jacket and
puts it under Warrick's head.
It does sound like they changed it so Grissom could find him. I mean, I really don't see Grissom stopping at a newstand to read a magazine. That seems out of character for him and again he can express how he feels about Warrick, but not anyone else on the team. Namely Nick and Greg. If Grissom leaves without saying anything to those two, I will seriously be disappointed at such a cop out.

But the fact that Grissom is standing near by? Don't buy it. If they really wanted him to find Warrick, then he should've been the last one at the diner. Reading a magazine?

Now you guys know why I was so upset...I read these spoilers and I almost took a head spin.....the evidence looks too contrived...it is not a good thing...also if you go to this indivdual's site you will find one more piece of information....there is a reunion right after the hand holding scene which she even called cheesy and a 'let's do this for the old giper' speech from Nicky in which she even thought should be left out...it seemed also cheesy....Why would they do this to the fans????

The first ten episodes will be an Emmy drive looks to me for WP!

^^ Hm. I don't know. I'm not a fan of Grissom finding Warrick, but I guess that we'll have to live with it anyways, if this source is to be believed.

While I'm watching the episode I probably won't be thinking about how it could've gone or what should've happened, I'll be too engrossed in how the episode is actually playing out. Afterwards might be a different story, but who knows? I might actually think that "For Warrick" was amazing and my favorite episode. I'm actually already thinking that it'll be my favorite epi, no matter who finds Warrick. I love drama. xD

^^ I really do hope all the characters get their moment like this.

You know the more and more I think about the whole Nick/Grissom finding Warrick debate the more I think Nick will be the one to find him.
Think about it.If TPTB keep putting spoilers out that it's Grissom the more they get debate, the more get debates starting the more interest in the episode they get and that will give ratings a boost. I also think that this is a good thing because let's face it. Warrick dying in Nicks arms will give us some of the nost emotional scenes of csi ever. They just don't want to spoil it for us. Come the time the episode airs forget cry me a river it will be cry me an ocean. If they play their cards right they'll be on to a winner.

I also think anything less than Nick finding Warrick is just plain stupid. I think the spoiler said that Grissom heard about it on the radio. He did not hear the shots. So unless TPTB are telling us that grissom has all of a sudden aquired the abilities of Schumacher in a formula 1 car and the sprint abilities of Bolt running the 100 metre sprint at the olympics. Nick would get there first. Unless grissom is now super human and Nick super stupid. Would not surprise if that's what they do think of Nick.

Anyway thats what I think. I'm the eternal optimist.

.Catherine had been beside two men as they died, possible three if you count Eddie, so it would be a rerun of her emotions...

bwahahaha. see Catherine us uber experienced in angst and men dying. Gad I tell you what though I'm glad the focus is on anybody but Catherine. She has certainly had more than her share of dramatic/emotional moments.

I know this is supposed to be about Season 9 spoilers but I'll just make note of the fact that we all know things tend to be in a state of flux on the set. Something that looks good when it's written might not work out once the scene is acted out. Perhaps, initially, Nick was supposed to find Warrick. Maybe it was meant to be Grissom all along and "fake" spoilers were released. Maybe once they reviewed it, Nick finding Warrick didn't work for what they needed from the scene. Who knows? Not me for sure since I wasn't there when they filmed it.

As for William Petersen, these first ten episodes are his last as a regular and since they are Grissom's exit arc, they will focus on him. I'm sure we will see Warrick's death deeply affecting everyone and I fully expect Nick to step up and grab the reins here. I remember the wonderful job he did of rallying everyone when Keppler was pulling his "reverse forensics" manuever. I also think we won't just skim over the effect it will have on Nick this time.

I think we also need to remember a lot of things such as screen time are negotiated into contracts. I don't see WP as giving a rat's a** about an Emmy. He has said numerous times that he will miss his "brothers and sisters" on the set once he goes.

I'm going to step in here and ask ....what about Catherine?
It seems that the discussion has been going on as to whether Grissom or Nick finds Warricks body.

My preference is that Nicky find him, but apperantly that's not the way the writers want to go. I guess we'll have to wait and see.

My concern here is what about Catherine? She's been through a HELL of a lot over the past couple of years.
Is she going to need counciling? (my guess would be YES) Is she going to struggle with her new supervisor role after Grissom leaves? Again probably knowing Catherine and her strong-yet-sometimes-to-emotional ways.

She is one of my favorites and I hate to see anything happen to her again. The death of her friend Warrick is going to be very tramatic for her. I'm hoping TPTB give her a storyline to help her deal with this tragedy.

Everyone continues to say over and over again how Warrick and Nick are best buds so its illogical for Grissom to find him and while that is a plot device for Nick's future angst over this it's not necessarily a drive to Nick being the only logical one to find Warrick.

No, that's not what people were saying. We're saying that the reason its illogical for Grissom to find him is because he left the diner first and Nick's still there. Big difference. Nick's friendship with Warrick is a reason people want Nick to be the one to find him, but that's not why it's illogical that he doesn't. It's illogical because of the placement of the characters in the Season finale.

That makes me think of that song from the Scrubs musical (even though I only saw that scene on Showbiz Tonight) "Guy Love".

There was a spoiler that said they all have to get counseling, though it didn't mention Cath or Nick, but I'm sure they'd need it more than the others seeing as to how they were closer to Rick. As for Catherine getting a storyline, there have been spoilers that say that she finds her daughter Lindsey dancing at some adult club or something. So, I'm sure that'll give her something to do. That Lindsey... always in trouble.

Perfectly put.

I suppose things could change and they needed to re-write it (what could change, I have no idea besides the obvious). As someone mentioned, Gum Drops was supposed to be Grissom, and it turned out so much better as an episode for Nick (in my opinion). It's hard to imagine that they meant it any other way.

But without putting our own wishes and spins on it, it might turn out okay. We KNOW each character is going to have their moment.

Okay, I'm finished trying to convince myself. I'm still sick over it tho.

If Grissom is the one to find him, I just hope they at least let Nicky come out of the diner and find them before Warrick dies. Maybe Grissom holding Warrick in his arms and Nicky holding Warrick's hand as he takes his last breath. And people have said that it looks like Grissom is looking up at someone in the spoiler pics. Maybe it's Nick.

If Warrick is still conscious during the time he was found or prior, I wonder if maybe, just maybe he leaves something of a clue of his assassin that will help his csi team to start of the case. Just like on Holly case.... really should try hard to leave any evidence until his last breath.
I believe his death will not go in vain, they are great CSI's, they would uncover the truth later on. But i have yet to ask for how long are they going to play it out?

This waiting adds more gray hair as days passed. How many days left?

Given the epi descriptions out there, the resolution of Warrick's death will last until at least epi 10.
I don't understand the argument that WP is leaving, so all the epis leading up to it have to be centered on Grissom. As much as we all enjoy Grissom, the tv series CSI is a business; the question is this: does CBS want the immediate gratification of drawing audiences for 10 episodes, or do they have Grissom fade out gradually to ensure continuity so the fans remain for however long TPTB hope to keep the show going? If the former, does this mean TPTB believe that, no matter who joins the cast or what they do, the show will jump the shark when Grissom leaves? TPTB have me very worried at this point because I feel the departure of a single actor in this ensemble (yes, even TPTB consider it that) shouldn't doom the show; that is, unless the show runners, writers, etc. have already given up on it. Hopefully, the major financial investment in hiring LF indicates I'm wrong in my fears for the show's future.

I really get annoyed when someone does 'it's a show' particularly when it's clear that their favourite character is Grissom because it's easy to go along with the writers when they focus on your favourite character, but not easy when your favourite character is not the star of the show and yo have to sit there and accept whatever crumbs your character gets in terms of screen time.

So you may ask, why don't you like the star then? One doesn't have control over which character becomes your favourite you just gravitate to certain elements of the personality and the actor's ability to present them.

So the writers have dropped the ball on this one and it's a shame. It really is. I hope the spoilers are wrong, but it doesn't sound like it. It should have been Nick.

Nick did find Sara in the first episode of season, but a GSR moment soon materialized so it didn't matter.

But given the fact that the writers are simply going to try and help Billy win an Emmy it just means that those of us who are fans of the "minor" characters as the BP fans like to reminds us, then we've got to accept it and move on to shows like FLASH POINT-REAL TEAM DRAMA, GSR FREE!!!

Well, that's not really fair is it? I like all the characters and everytime one them gets an episode or scene to shine is great. I particularly liked Gumdrops for Nick and Weeping Willows for Catherine. My point is that i think this is a great show. Obviously everyone here agrees with that. So the writers and all actors have done a great job these last 8 years to make sure that it is still fresh and vibrant. But i don't care that Grissom finds Warrick because they have a close connection and we will get a wonderful performance out of everyone. I'm just wondering exactly how much of Warrick they are actually showing.

But if you listen to the commentary on the DVD...Gumdrops was suppose to be a Grissom and Sara centered episode but unfortunately something personal occurred in Peterson's life and it was changed for Nick (george eads)...it was suppose to a shower scene with Grissom and Sara and he left his room because Gregg was snoring and went to Sara's....IT WAS only by accident that Gumdrops became one of my favorites...and George did an excellent job...I think it's time we start focusing on Catherine, Gregg,Nick and Brass...they actually still want to be on the show.....they want it to work...it will not be the same but I am hoping it will be better, and please no more relationships of the GSR genre.

I would definately LOVE to see more of Brass. He always makes me laugh, but i doubt that will happen because he isn't a csi. Plus, does anyone know what Lindsay's role is is the crime that she becomes entagled in?!! I'm dying to know.
