Re: Grissom&Sara #23 - Hot, Butt-Kicking, Chainsaw Wielding

For the poll i picked the third one. Like many of ya'll have said Grissom was just being Grissom with the pumpkin quote. Now why he does this a lot I dont know ( referring to other scenes such as the "thermite" and "Bite Me" scenes). Im not worried about DOOOOOM!.... actually im looking forward to it

Re: Grissom&Sara #23 - Hot, Butt-Kicking, Chainsaw Wielding

I honestly think it's the last one. It's not what I think, but Grissom looked very worried, in my opinion.

And if he's considering leaving the state while he's already been in the midst of a breakdown, and leaving Sara, he has to think she'll assume it's partly about her.

He said something unintentionally subtextual (in other words, I think he was showing her how much he loved the language of the story, and she took it to mean that he'd rather be alone) and her pointed look at him sitting alone meant to say, "Have fun on your pumpkin rather than with me" - not in a negative way, but more a flirtatious one.

But again - Grissom assumed in Butterflied that Sara would leave him. So perhaps it's just that lingering doubt.

Sara seems far more confident about this than he does, and I think it's merely because she knows where she stands, and he may still be worried that it's all one-sided.

Hence him getting a little pouty when she called him boring. He memorized the title of the lecture. He clearly didn't find her boring. And then he seemed miffed that she hadn't memorized the title as well.

Again - I really think Grissom always assumed that he'd be more devoted than she, and unfortunately, Sara's flirt came off the wrong way with him, judging by his expression, and he took it to mean, "if you want to be on your own, I won't stay"

And this may cause another source of stress, because if he keeps the lecture letter from her, and there's another MCSK alert, and he continues to get migraines... he could wind up doing/saying something stupid before he leaves.

Re: Grissom&Sara #23 - Hot, Butt-Kicking, Chainsaw Wielding

I picked the second option. My initial interpretation of the scene was that he was just worrying about how he was going to tell her about the letter and his possible decision to accept the offer, but then I got caught up in misanthropic pumpkins and whatnot, so it kind of threw me for a loop. But now I'm convinced that his quote was not directed at her, and that his angsty look was mostly because prior to seeing her he hadn't really thought about what his possible acceptance of the offer could mean for their relationship, so now he's got a big decision to make. But honestly, I think after he closed the book he got his ass out of there and ran home to get some geek lovin' :)

Re: Grissom&Sara #23 - Hot, Butt-Kicking, Chainsaw Wielding

What threw me off a little was Sara's crossword puzzle definition. Was she referring to Grissom or was that just a coincedence that, that especific word was there and she had to tell him. Supposly it was there in the puzzle and he didnt missed it so im asuming that she was referring to Grissom in a teasing flirting way but it seemed that Grissom didnt took it that way.

Re: Grissom&Sara #23 - Hot, Butt-Kicking, Chainsaw Wielding

Sarah and your polls ;) I choose "I'm just reading my book.. we'll talk later.. remember "Kiss Kiss Bye Bye" when he was reading her book "The Best Is Yet To Come'? he would have, I think, had the same reaction.. doesn't want to be bothered nor disturbed, while he's reading. :(. you all should have figured this guy out by now.. what's great about Sara.. she lets him be.. now that their together.. and is OK with his quirky habits..bet when he did get home.. he then told her in his own private way about the letter..and made it all better.. TIGER.. fantasies run rampant :p

i agree with you 100% butterflied.

on the poll however, i picked no.2. i think i already made my reasons clear in my previous posts.

okay something OT right now, but still pertaining to CSI. i was in Target today, browsed some DVD sales and i noticed Sleepy Hollow, which i've seen a couple of months ago and which i completely loved. if anyone of you watched this movie you know that Johnny Depp played a kind of a CSI of those times. he was an investigator and after they found the first body he was doing the same things as CSIs only with a lot less skill, knowledge and technology. so anyway, here's what i found interesting.

Grissom /// Johnny

lol. the funny thing is that the movie was made in 1999, so there was no CSI yet and Billy was making a threesom-ic Kiss The Sky.

or maybe it's just me being weird after watching too much action in Casino Royale. Daniel Craig has a nice body though. and the movie was pretty good too.

Re: Grissom&Sara #23 - Hot, Butt-Kicking, Chainsaw Wielding

He said something unintentionally subtextual (in other words, I think he was showing her how much he loved the language of the story, and she took it to mean that he'd rather be alone) and her pointed look at him sitting alone meant to say, "Have fun on your pumpkin rather than with me" - not in a negative way, but more a flirtatious one.

I totally agree. Him quoting that particular line didn't have double meaning, it was probably just...the sentence he was on. And she was teasing him, but when it came down to it she was still rather serious. It probably didn't really hurt her feelings too deeply, but it seemed to kinda smart her. So she shook it off and teased him a bit to let him know how she felt... without getting melodramatic. She's incredibly tolerant of his lack of tact in the relationship department.

So I think the look on Grissom's face was like "Oh shit! I totally forgot I have a duty to let Sara in on this whole thing. What if she won't wait up for me...?" Because like you mentioned about Butterflied, I think one of his fears has always been that she will get bored and move on.

But in my opinion, um, a month...not all that long, dude. Not after you have been together for over a year. It's not like she had a crapload of boyfriends before Grissom. What's a month of waiting for him after years of waiting for him?

But a great way for them to stir up some angst would be for him to withhold that information from her. I honestly hope he won't, but I can seriously see him being so worried about how she will react, that he keeps putting it off. And her getting really angry because he didn't trust her enough. Especially if someone else finds out before her.

omg, adzix that's amazing, it's almost exactly the same head-thing!!! omg, i reaaally didn't notice that, good job :D
for the poll, i picked the second option, cause my opinion is that he was looking worried because he needs to tell her, he might go away for a seminar... that's pretty tough for a guy like him, especially when sara is such a flirt at that moment, that makes it even harder for him.. you know, i don't want him to go at all... :p but i don't control the show ;) maybe she said misanthrope pointing out to... and then i really mean MAYBE!.. to that man who wrote the book about the pumpkin thing... maybe.. but that's just my thought.. ;)okay, that was my post for today, going back to homework, we have a few important tests next week.. :( but, to make everything a bit more fun, here's a picture i made about the whole 63-69 thing *my mind is also sooo perverted*

Re: Grissom&Sara #23 - Hot, Butt-Kicking, Chainsaw Wielding

I think the "I won't wait up for you," comment was her way of saying she understands him and his need to be alone. She "gets" him, ykwim? And her flirty way of saying so means it didn't bother her.

As for the sabbatical letter, I think he already told her about it off screen.

Re: Grissom&Sara #23 - Hot, Butt-Kicking, Chainsaw Wielding

For the poll i picked #2 i think that he hasn't told her about the letter and he was kind of distracted, trying to figure out how to tell her about it and wasn't really paying attention to how "the pumpkin thin" could be interpreted.

On another note i LOVE sara's new hair.

Edit: whoa that Grissom/Johnny is freaky

 You've got a point Adzix. Never thought of that! I love Sleepy Hollow and Johnny! :p

Re: Grissom&Sara #23 - Hot, Butt-Kicking, Chainsaw Wielding

Holy Hell are you serious? That's kinda ridiculous. She hardly even looked at it. Not only that but she says "hey you missed one" but um, he didn't miss it. He just wasnt finished. There were like a crapload of other missing ones, lol. Either way, what a coincidence that the word was misanthrope.

I think that she canned the list of clues and one of the clues was misanthrope - not the answer.

I totally agree. Him quoting that particular line didn't have double meaning, it was probably just...the sentence he was on. I'm going to say this scene was an answer to Bite Me for a couple of reasons. The first is that it's a Sarah Goldfinger script (Happenstance) and Bite Me is a Josh Berman script. Those two are/were big Sara fans. And so I seriously doubt that two people who are/were Sara AND GSR fans are going to write a scene where Sara is wounded by Grissom without it meaning something good.

In both scenes, Grissom says something potentially hurtful IF it is in fact about Sara. In Bite Me, it's a little clear that he is perhaps trying to get her attention, but I think that it was meant to always feel like a fight they'd had prior to coming to work, and Grissom maybe feeling like Sara was doubting his commitment to Sparkle Motion (GSR) and wanting to hold off on "romance" wink-wink nudge-nudge until she was sure.

His thinking? It's been 10 freakin' years.

(according to Billy)

ANYway, again we have a scene where Sara assumes that what he's talking about it precisely connected to their relationship.

Here's the difference: Sara is now secure about it. Maybe because they're living together, maybe because they're sleeping together, maybe because he made it clear he wants to be with her forever (Way to Go), but she's secure.

And she felt secure enough to actually jab back at him.

The problem in this instance is that while Grissom didn't have their relationship on his mind before, he does now.

And again - you can't expect a man who's lived alone all of his adult life to immediately realize exactly what he's supposed to do if he has to leave town now that he's in a relationship.

I think that Grissom was used to just... leaving.

And it's at this moment when he realizes that Sara isn't a sure thing, necessarily.

I think Sara wouldn't leave him unless he cheated on her or did something awful, but again - Grissom is still in the Butterflied frame of mind - she's beautiful, she's young, and she'll leave me when I get boring.

Which may have been why we saw him bringing her lunch or doing little romantic things this season, to sort of prove that "things are different now"

Pairs himself with her all the time to make up for the years that he shoved her away.

But now he's worried again. And he probably wouldn't be AS worried if he didn't also have the migraines, didn't also have the MCSK, and so on.

It's bad timing, and while I don't think that they're going to break up, I do think (or rather hope) that we're going to get an emotional goodbye scene.

Rather like Willow/Oz (the OTP of Buffy... pointedly glares at Tara and raises an eyebrow at Fogi - WOZ FOREVER) scene at the end of Wild at Heart when he has to go on his spirit guide quest.

In that instance, she did leave him.

But then - the guy playing Oz was leaving the show, so...

Oh. Crap.

Um... nevermind.

*protects Tara from evil Sarah and raises an eyebrow back*

Well, I liked Oz and all, but if we're going to draw parallels to GSR, then in my mind Oz would be Skank... um... I mean Hank. Afterall, he did chase another girl's tail, as it were...

Whereas Tara and Willow were soul mates, much in the same way Grissom and Sara are. And had she not died... *begins to cry* *weeps* *mourns*

But yeah, on the subject at hand, i'm hoping for a really solid, emotional (for both of them, not just Sara) farewell scene. Fingers crossed that we get it...

Ahem, and just for you, Sarah, a little bit of Tallow lovin:

Oh, and while I'm digging out old photobucket pics, this one's for Adzix and Ziggy ;)

Grissom /// Johnny

Great, now you have me wondering who is hotter? Johnny Depp or Billy Petersen? NO!! You're making me go crazy..

Could you imagine Johnny Depp on a CSI episode? Wow.. I'll keep my fantasies to myself.. HAHAHAHA! I just imagined the look on Johnny Depp's face if he were to walk into Grissom's office and see Sara and Grissom making out. HAHA! Wow.. that would be funny because Depp has the funniest surprised looks.

Anyway, I couldn't pick one that exactly said what I thought about the poll, but one was quite close so I picked it. Uhm. Anyway, I think Grissom was pretending to read and really he was just thinking over what he should do about his sabbatical issue, so he didn't care what he was reading. Then Sara was in a fun mood, and noticed Grissom wasn't really in a good mood, so she said that she wouldn't wait up.

Basically she said 'I'll let you sort out whatever it is on your own, and I won't bug you about it.'

I would love to see that too!!! At least Johnny in an episode would be sooo cool! If Sara and Grissom wouldn't be together I could imagine him flirt a little with Sara making Grissom jealous. :p
