Re: Season 8 Spoiler Discussion - There's Nothing You Can't Do In New

I'm really looking forward to seeing these flashbacks. Like someone mentioned earlier they could even include Jo because she was in Washington and we could see her perspective about what happened in the Pentagon. Between CSI NY and Criminal Minds I'm getting very excited for premier week :).

Re: Season 8 Spoiler Discussion - There's Nothing You Can't Do In New

They could include everyone, really. It would be just as interesting to see what the people not living in NY or DC (Lindsay and Adam) were doing and what their perspectives were too.

Re: Season 8 Spoiler Discussion - There's Nothing You Can't Do In New

Another season of NY, another batch of DL questions from the spoiler patrols. This one's from TVLine:

CSI: NY | Let’s kick off this week’s column with a dip into the reader mailbag. Jess writes, “Now that CSI: NY‘s Danny is a Sergeant, are we going to see that aspect? And most importantly, are we going to see a lot of Danny/Lindsay?” For starters, yes, in the Sept. 23 season opener, we will see that Danny’s promotion meant he had to leave the lab and return to patrol, where he supervises uniformed officers in his precinct. And as for the Messers’ marriage, you will need to wait no longer than Episode 2 to witness how Danny’s new gig is affecting things ‘tween him and Lindsay

So Danny's no longer in the lab as we suspected, and DL will remain as boring as ever as I suspected. At least TPTB is covering what's "most important" on a procedural crime drama.

If he supposedly supervises uniformed officers I wonder how they're going to have him working with the team?

I agree, Faylinn and PA. I'd want Jo to be supportive of Tyler.

If he supposedly supervises uniformed officers I wonder how they're going to have him working with the team?

That's what I wonder too. I don't know if I understand the writers' reasoning for doing this. Are they working on a spinoff for Danny or something? LOL.

Re: Season 8 Spoiler Discussion - There's Nothing You Can't Do In New

They can do a spinoff for Danny if Flack comes along and Lindsay stays behind. :D

Adam Bryant Tweeted this:

Got loads of juicy #CSINY and #CSIMiami scoop today. Keep your eyes here in days to come...

Being the smart ass that I am I tweeted him back and asked if at least some of the NY scoop will be non DL related. :p We'll see if I get a response or if I get blocked. :shifty:

ETA: From spoilers for the 1st 2 episodes Danny will obviously be working with the team. I just hope they use some form of Earth logic to explain it if his new job description is a supervisor of uniformed officers.

I really hope they don't go down the line of he misses working with Lindsey, or it put a strain on their marriage so he gives up his promotion and goes back to the lab

Casting news!

Exclusive: CSI: NY Recruits General Hospital Alum to Play Mac's Wife

After seven seasons of CSI: NY, viewers will finally meet Mrs. Mac Taylor.

Check out photos of the CSI: NY cast

Former General Hospital and Eastwick star Jaime Ray Newman has been tapped to play Claire Taylor, the wife Mac (Gary Sinise) lost during the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, TVGuide.com has learned exclusively. As we previously reported, Claire will appear in flashbacks during the show's Season 8 premiere, which honors the 10th anniversary of 9/11.

"We're taking all of our characters back to that day," executive producer Pam Veasey tells us. "You get to see them together. You see why Claire loved Mac, and why Mac loved her."

Veasey also hinted that Mac's moments of reflection may offer him some inspiration to look for love again. "We've had a few women in the past pursue Mac," she says. "We like the idea of maybe seeing Mac being the pursuer."

I thought season 7 couldn't get any better when they kept on bringing great episodes but season 8 sounds fantastic! i really can't wait to see it :D and it's about time Mac stops being shy and starts wanting to find love again, we all know he is this hot stud who women can't resist( well that's my opinion, don't know about other people) but it will be nice to see another side of Mac. Im liking the idea of maybe Mac/Jo, Sela Ward is beautiful woman for her age and im not even going to describe Gary cause i will fill the whole page up, he is just too hot for his own good but yeah , i thought they clicked instantly in season 7 premiere and Mac and Jo look good together and have been threw alot so i hope they carry on their friendship throughout season 8 :D

Some more casting news, this time for episode 8.02 -

'Hellcats' star to appear on 'CSI: NY'

Aly Michalka — best known for her starring role in the CW’s short-lived cheer drama Hellcats -- has snagged a guest role on CSI: NY next fall. The young actress will play a hard rocker named Miranda in the series, which returns to CBS on Sept. 23.

Here’s the description: She’s a rocker who “explodes onto the stage of New York’s hottest underground clubs.” (Yep, Michalka sings!) Her character is questioned by the CSI team when the guy she’s been dating is found murdered.

Her episode will air Sept. 30. Michalka’s credits also include Easy A and the TV series Phil of the Future.

Re: Season 8 Spoiler Discussion - There's Nothing You Can't Do In New

It will be very much interesting to see how the flashback with Mac's wife pans out in the end and how it affects his character and future love life.

As for future loves, I'd like to be with someone outside the lab, especially a teacher, a high-ranking police officer in a separate department, or a game developer. In this respect, I would gingerly delve into it over time.

As for Mac & Jo, they are best suited as partners or equals on the field. I am OKAY with that. :) As a couple though, absolutely not! Not after such traumatizing disappointment. I suffered mental TV-Injury once, am not doing it again with Mac/Jo. Even with the lingering upsetness, I do hold out hope that Stella could return, down the road of course and see how Mac reacts to Stella's return, even if for a short while.

Ultimately in the end, when it comes to the ultimate love life for Mac, when it comes to the point they decide it's time to end the show, I'd like it to be left up to the audiences imagination to decide where it goes in the end. I think it would be decent enough to give season 8 (if this is the last) a good send-off but minimize alienating audiences that are still following the show. :)

I just had a thought!!!!!! Does this mean we might get to see a Mac and Claire kiss?!?!!!*bouncy smiley* If that happens, I will be reduced to a starry-eyed melted puddle in front of my tv!

Kind of torn though about the possibility of a Mac romance. IF (and given the track record this is a big if), IF it is written well, it could be really cool to see Mac finally be able to move on. (although one could argue he pursued Aubrey in s6... :p) But given their horrible record in handling romantic stuff in the show, I am highly skeptical. Not that I have any doubt Gary will salvage what little quality they give him to work with, but the only romance I think they ever did right was Flack and Angel. And I totally agree that whoever they give him to pursue needs to be someone outside the lab. I'd be cool even with someone from within the NYPD, but a totally different department, say a detective from Major Case or something who actually acts towards him rather like Aiden did with Danny thereby putting him in a totally different position and having to 'pursue' like Veasey intimated. Could be kinda funny to watch actually

It's fantastic that we'll get a glimpse into the lives of all the main characters.
