"The Two Mrs. Grissoms" Discussion *SPOILERS*

I loved the episode, watched it twice already. Jorja did an awesome job. Phyllis Frelich was perfect as Grissom’s mom, …the last scene was very sweet.

The case.. well it’s not as interesting as House of Hoarders, it was good... I learned a lot of things, but there is something about it though.., like how did Sara know or suspected that Sean can hear. I mean at this point all we know was that he was from Quebec. When Cath said “We're looking for somebody outside the deaf community.” Sara said “Yes and no.” my mind immediately goes to “yeah it’s the interpreter“ not Sean. Besides the bomb in the office was supposed to make a beeping sound to tell that it was armed, yet Sara and Ray didn’t hear anything nor did we. I guess it depends on how loud it was.
Anyway, the thing I love about this episode is that I’m more focused on Sara and her Mother-in-law that I forgot about the case, heh.. that’s why it’s called “The Two Mrs. Grissoms”.

Oh.. and the Canadian thing, Treena Hancock & Melissa Byer are Canadians, I think. First time I noticed was Hodges’ I was terrorized by a flock of Canadian geese.:guffaw:

how did Sara know or suspected that Sean can hear

I watched the episode again and had a closer look for a hint, that he could hear. Sean turns when Brass opens the door and comes into the interrogation room. He couldn't have seen him, he sat with his back to the door. And I don't think the interpretor told him, Brass was coming, because she couldn't see him before.

how did Sara know or suspected that Sean can hear.
They gave him some kind of test that emitted clicks or beeps and his brain waves or something indicated that he heard them.
I think the poster meant how did Sara come to suspect before the test that Sean could hear. Her suspicions were why she and Catherine faked him out on that test.

Oh ok. I misread it. I just got up, so I'm still a little foggy-headed LOL.

I'm not sure I have the right answer to this, but I have watched the episode several times now (yeah, I'm obsessed ). It may be that Sara was a little suspicious of him already because of what Michael, the TA, had said about Sean, that 'something was not right' with him; then the whole 'how did he know Quebec sign language?' thing. I don't think she necessarily knew he would fail the test, but they were looking for someone who could hear, so they tested him because he was already a suspect. She was wrong about him being the killer, though, so that was another little twist.

WOW, this had so many personal overtones, and for me it was a tough go. It brought up so many buried memories, pertaining to GSR. I was emotionally drained at the end:(

Jorja as Sara did an exceptional acting job, that ran the gamut from shocked to frustrated to confused to angry. But throughout she held her cool. Her expressions are captivating and tell everything~

The opening scene with her in the purple evening gown with her hair pulled up, stunning. She's beautiful, that smile:D Him calling from Peru, wow to hear his voice after all this time. The kids and the drums, nice touch. She finally meets his mom, and she's all happy but the mom, not so much. Phyllis and Marlee, great acting from both ;) Sara and her minimal sign language. And then the introduction of "Sara Sidle, she didn't take his name". And how she goes about Julia "she's been like a daughter to me" ouch:( "My son is away alot" Sara says nothing.~

An explosion, gee what's new? Sara runs to it, and Nick and Ray are stunned by her appearance. Nick:: "Wait a minute, you did something different" Ray:: "I didn't even recognize you". Victim Eric Lambert, wo what happened?

Julia lies about where she really was. Ray and Dave. Ray:: "This reminds me of my 1st case" Nick and him examine the evidence and realize it wasn't a accident.

Sara shares w/ Cath that there's a barrier between her and her mother-in-law. and comments that "it's hard to get close to her, and she questions everything" Cath :: "Like Grissom, like mother like son":shifty:

Greg analyzes crime scene and states that Julia couldn't have of heard the explosion from her office.

Mrs. Grissom and Julia come in w/ the interpreter, and Sara basically hits a stone wall with both of them. Nick :: "you don't seem to be winning any points with you mother-in-law. but she seems to like me though" Sara squints her eyes and once again says nothing~

Finds message from Lambert to Julia "this has to end" so she re-questions Julia w/ Brass present. She confesses to Sara that her an Gil were intimate, and she says "Obviously there's a conflict of interests here" Brass :: "Well this is awkward" She kinda of dogs Sara and she goes: "my marriage has nothing to do with this"

Sara is miffed off and Cath says Brass wants yo off the case" I told him you a professional and objective, you are aren't you" She nods and sayd "yes"

Nick and Ray [two peas in a pod] go over burnt out car their so funny :rommie:together~

Greg with Hodges and the bomb. The bomb at the cop funeral was more sophisticated. Greg fins a bell shaped charge. Hodges rambles about "his mom and how she snores like a bear so he has one of those in case of a fire" He's such a trip:shifty:

Nick and Sara go to the deaf guys dorm and find 3 of them~Michael Porter-"what happened to your alarm"~

Nick and Sara on Julia Sara:: "She is pretty" Nick::"Yeah she is"

Sara runs into Mrs.G again on Her son and Julia "She goes 'I thought you knew" Sara: "NO" and then goes "Maybe if you and Gil saw each other more often, you'd know more about each other" [another burn] Sara again says NADA:bolian: She does give her a few tid-bits about Julia and Lambert~

Hodges with hoof and mouth disease:scream: On Grissom "quite the libertine and brings up Lady Heather and starts a off the wall tirade "for sexual adventure, women whose voracious appetite is dangeous yet unbridled passion" [I thought Sara was going to smack him upside the head], and he keeps going on and on. "although you can have sexual passion, it doesn't hold a candle to spiritual, intellectual, not to say you don't have a great sex life, when your in the same city":klingon: Cath intervenes "Isn't that your phone ringing"? Sara's expressions, so remarkable. She turns to Cath and goes "Grissom and I have great sex" [bet they do]. Wow we've never heard her talk like this before:bolian:

So cutting to the chase [I've got so much more] but the whole time it was the guy Sean and Michael who were scam artists wantihg the grant money and he was French-Canadian not English.~

Back to Sara and Mrs. G."Do you miss being with your husband? what kind of marriage do you have, you barely see each other"? Sara We talk everyday and see each other once a month" [now we know, that has never been addressed on the show] Mrs. G "I lost my husband way to soon, but in all the years, we never spent one night alone" [wow,] Sara:: "It's unconventioal, but what Gil & I have together works, we're a family, and if you don't want any part of it that's fine":wtf:intense banter~

They give Sean a test and he's not deaf, they tell Julia and she's shocked [she's very dramatic] Ray tells Cath it was a grant scam all along and it's his cousin from Montreal and "he's been hiding in plain sight"~

Brass with Dennis "Must feel a little lonely huh, ? your like invisible, for an invisible man you leave alot of evidence" so Lambert found out and the bomb on Julia's desk was to throw them off~

Sara and Julia grasp hands nice;)

The the last scene with Grissom on Skype to Sara, and about Peru WOW!!!!!! his hair is grey but he's still so handsome and sooooo charming that sly grin:p "How was your week"? She tells him and as always his snarky "Well good you've kept busy", then his mom walks in and he goes "I hear you and Sara had an exciting week"? she brings Sara Africian Violets, nice touch He goes 'I told her you like vegetation" [remember when he ordered her a plant?] Her and Sara make up and she says "I'm sorry" he goes "When I come back, the 3 of us will go out to dinner" Mrs. G goes "when"? he goes "Soon" Mom and his and her's sex life and he goes into his Girissom rhetoric about the Inca's & "sex pots", and "sometimes too much" and he's doing his signing. then he goes "I love you both" and I lost it then started sobbing:confused: and realized there will never be another Grissom ever no matter who or what happens on the show. A really personal episode that the writers show us that GSR is alive and kicking. :bolian:

I love the episode but agree the Mrs. Grissom was not warm and certainly not supportive of the choice her son made in a wife. She should be grateful that at his age, with his issues he found someone that accepted him as he was. I think Jorja did a phenomenal job in this and seeing Billy is always worth the wait.
I have a comment about the ratings...IF TPTB had been forthcoming, if they had let the public know that Billy was going to have a small part in this...the rating would have gone through the roof....try it and see. But you showed NOTHING except a bit of Sara on the telephone calling his name....it wasn't enough for your precious ratings draw....next time ADVERTISE!!!!!

I watched it again and I think I'm even more obsessed :)

I realized I was more focused on Sara and all that drama over the actual case. I forgot when she was looking for the deaf fire alarm device she found the kids porn magazines and was like sorry! lol Honestly everytime after Betty or Julia would burn Sara I got so mad because I felt for her. It wasn't until Julia confessed she was used I felt bad for her. And then the end! I got into liking Betty and I cannot wait for that dinner...

I think that Jorja/Sara has mega fans and the writers know that. She was incredible in "Nesting Dolls" "Committed" "Dead Doll and "Living Doll" some that come to mind on her emotional rollar coaster ride through life, as this spectacular character. Her timing and her expressions are nothing but enticing, intoxicating and gripping always. This just zeroed in on those qualities in this episode. She was wonderful:bolian:

Yes.. this is definitely one of my favorite episode too, Jorja's just amazing.
Well I suppose Sara could’ve noticed something else about Sean (other than his ASL) when she visited Julia at the hospital or something.

I loved this episode. The drama between Gil's mother and Sara was great. It was nice tt see some backstory on Grissom even if the small cameo left me feeling cheated. I wanted more than that small "visit". This show has been improving recently and I hope it continues.
