Idea for a fanfic challenge

I enjoy writing fan fiction, but this would be my first CSI one. The challenge is:

The plot line is that an old friend of Nick's pops up, possibly able to heal the pain of losing Warrick. It has to be less than 2,500 words, and try to keep it clean. I'm working on mine right now, and I will have mine posted when it's done.

It just occurred to me. I have a better idea for a Nick Fic Song challenge. The songs I have in mind are "You Found Me" by the Fray and "Inside Out" by the Mighty Lemon Drops.

Hi AmericanStalker! :)

You are most welcome to join the Nick Fic Song Challenge if you want! The thread is located here. If you want to join, just go ahead and post there.

Normally I ask that you PM me your song choices, but since you are too new to Private Message, I'll go ahead and put your song choice on the list if you want to play. :) Feel free to post any questions there too. :)

NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month

Is anyone taking part in it? Sorry if this sort of thread isn't allowed!

Does it belong in the FF/RPG section of the forum? It seems like it should but I'm posting it here to be safe.

Re: NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month

I'm signed up at the site. I'd love to participate.

BUT...

It turns out I suck at writing original fiction. :(

Writing fanfic is a lot easier (not that I'm actually any better at it, but it's certainly much less daunting than original fic). You don't have to come up with any back stories, any character quirks, and usually you don't even have to come up with major conflicts. You stand on the shoulders of the genuises who poured their blood, sweat and tears into the universe they created. Easy, right?

With original fic, YOU have to be that genius. Problem: I am not that genius.

Re: NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month

Yea same here Spoooky. I was signed up for a AugNoWriMo which was during the month of August. I was aiming for 10,000 words and I don't think I even made it up to 2,000. So I won't be signing up for NaNoWriMo.

I'm taking a Writer's Craft class this semester too, and it's really hard for me because we have to write a "masterpiece", and I take so long to write or think up anything. I ended up actually basing my story on another story I was writing for CSI: Miami but never posted. :/

Re: NaNoWriMo: National Novel Writing Month

Same here, Spooky. But this girl that wrote for this fandom I was in long ago participated in NaNoWriMo writing a fic under that fandom. So I think it's okay, besides there's people who are planning to write Supernatural, Harry Potter, Twilight, etc.

I don't think I'd ever be able to write original fiction myself either. I'm pretty brilliant but nowhere near as good as authors out there.

I signed up for it. Wasn't planning to but then this bunny that had apeared out of nowhere started talking and i began to outline it. Then, i got talked into signing up. On the plus side, h and rick have been talking nonstop. I'm definitely looking forward to sunday when i can put pen to paper and do mroe than outline this plot *grins* Its gonna be fun

I finished my story "The Brave and The Bold". Figured I'd just go ahead and put up the link. It'll take you to the first chapter.

Title: The Brave and The Bold
Author: Praetor Corvinus
Rating: T
Summary: Las Vegas is caught under a casino crime spree that will test the trust and stamina of the CSIs.
Ships: Simmers, Yo!Bling, Curtann, leanings toward Nick/Greg and slight GSR.
Warnings: Spoilers for everything up to Season 7. Canon character death (but not any major characters)

Title: How to Break Up a CSI Fight
Author: Samsara Dallaire
Rating: K
Genre: Humour
Summary: Nick stops a fight between Hodges and Greg in a most unusual fashion. The idea came to me via a You Tube video called "How to Break Up a Cat Fight" and George Eads' most embarassing moment while he was in the hospital for back surgery. I had fun writing this because I ventured into Greg's POV for a bit and added in a bit of Lab Rat humour for fun.

Okay so having got 26 reviews on FF.net I decided to post the link for my story here and it is my first one so I would love reviews if you guys like it at all. Please don't flame me I know its not the best thing ever written.

Title: Therapy Can Be Murder

Rating: T
Genre: Angst/Suspense
Summary: The CSI start working to track down a serial killer that kills people by using their phobias against them. However when two members of the team get taken its a race against them to find the killer before they become the next victims. I have this fic set sometime between season 5 and 6.
