Surprised Idol rating are still strong despite Simon leaving the show...I did really like this season, the judges didn't really jell well enough imo. Plus the talent wasn't too great. I'm assuming that America X factor will take over the Idol ratings... btw anyone know when X factor starts in the State?

WOW:wtf: how people percieve shows so differently. I thought the judges were so in tune and "jelled" perfectly. Steven Tyler was a jewel, and so likeable. And the talent, was the best ever in "AI" history, I thought~

Well the fact that it Tyler, J.Lo and Jackson - is what makes it so odd :rolleyes: I mean what were they thinking, anyway like I said, with X Factor around the corner the rating for Idol will drop like a stone.

It should be starting around September here (US and Canada). I don't know if there's an exact date listed, but I believe it'll be on Wednesdays on CTV (and FOX?). It'll be interesting to see how they do in the ratings with Simon and Paula on the panel.

About the judges this year, I kind of agree. I thought they had some chemistry and they were a lot of fun, but I didn't feel like anything they said had much weight to it--they seemed more interested in being as nice as possible instead of giving constructive criticism for people who are about to enter one of the most brutal industries. Maybe I felt they were a little too easily impressed, and concentrated too much on the theatrics instead of the actual talent. *shrug*

On a related note, I didn't think the 'talent' was all that much to shake a stick at this year. I felt like previous season groups had a larger array of marketable singers.

That being said, it's nice to see CSI still up there as a top show, despite it being currently in re-runs, and 12 (or 13 now) seasons in. :lol:

Alot of people/fans liked this season better. The talent was unbeliveable. I think any one of the contestants could have been the new "IDOL". And I was getting sick and tired of Simon's constant negativity and put-downs. [Ellen] was fun with her brief stint. Niceness for me goes a lot furthur. The odd combination of Steven, Jennifer and Randy [he's always been great], clinched the show, the were all so in tune and courteous with one another, and with nearly 30,000 fans tuning in, I think if these same judges come back it will still hold it's own in top place. The "time will tell" rings true with this show;)

Well then it seems Simon will not be doing British X factor then....:rolleyes:.

Bah I think Simon's most likely gonna want a christmas No.1 out of the winner just like he does here.

Btw, Cheryl Cole got dropped (because of her accent :lol:) but I believe she's in some of the episodes.

That maybe so but these contestants needed some negativity and criticism because the music industry isn't nice, it's one of the most brutal of industry. This show can either make you or break and these contestants need to face up to reality. So your not actually doing them a favour by being nice to them, your making the situation worse by do so.
