After the shooting, those events put Mac and Stella apart. Stella needed someone next to her and this song describes how Mac is begging her a new chance

well, since i haven't watched 6.03 yet i dunno if something has changed about Stella's storyline. However i can imagine this is Stella during these months that took place before 6.01 or even after she was shocked by Frankie's violence
