The Great One-Liner Debate Pt.1

The discussion about Horatio's one-liners became rather popular so I figured why not continue things here. It might be a fun way to finish up the summer before the show starts.

What I'm going to do is post a poll to choose the fans' favourite one-liner. (whether you loved it because it was cheesy or because it just stuck with you) I'm going to post a poll and thread for every two seasons so part 1 will contain seasons 1-2, part 2 will contain seasons 3-4, part 3 will contain seasons 5-6. Then a final poll thread will show which one-liner out of every season was the favourite and then we'll vote on them to find the ultimate fan favourite one-liner to date.

It may have been discussed before in the past but there are several new faces and of course new episodes since then. Hopefully it'll be fun for those who are itching for something to do before the new season.

Oh and every episode will be listed in order along with the one-liner (depending how much length can be used) so if there's an episode missing, it's because Horatio didn't say a one-liner or another character did aside from H. (For example, Megan had a one-liner during 'Wet Foot/Dry Foot' and these polls are about the fan favourite Horatio one-liners)

Sorry for any spelling errors or any possible huge mistakes I made with any of them--I can't go back and fix it so if there's a one-liner that's wrong, tough.

Ashes to Ashes. That line cracked me up the first time I heard it. That is the Horatio that I miss! :lol:

I voted for A Horrible Mind and Entrance Wound... Just because he sounded so funny saying them!!!

I chose

A Horrible Mind "Up a tree."

for season one. For some reason, that one-liner always made me laugh because it's literally true. :lol: In the first season, Horatio spouted off quite a few humorous ones without it sounding too contrived. It was very 'CSI' back then. I also loved 'Oh...I wouldn't be too sure about that' because in context, that was such a naughty thing to say and it cracked me up.

For season two, I chose

Money for Nothing "They never listen."

Again, very true. I just found that whole scene quite cool back in the day, even though he was blowing someone away. But the difference between that situation and a similar hoped-for 'cool moment' 'Mala Noche justice? Meet Miami justice' line was that he seemed a lot more real saying the season two line and it didn't seem contrived. I compare the two because they were both intended probably to make the character sound cool, only I thought that the one I voted for pulled it off better. (and the fact that the guy was an actual threat. Okay, moving on) *shrug* Anyway, it's probably up there as one of my absolute favourite sayings.

I voted for 'Forced Entry' from season 1. I absolutely cracked up when he said it...it was just too good.

'Money for Nothing' from season 2. His smart-allick tone was so perfect. One of my all time faves.

I laughed too, it was hilarious and something very 'Horatio-esque' circa the first couple of seasons anyway. I'm not sure he would have been able to pull that off in season 6 or 7. The tone of the show was very different back in the day.

I like 'they never listen.' When he said it back then, it was funny, and I laughed really hard. As Gen put it, he wouldn't be able to pull that off nowadays. So, they have him say stuff like 'as cold... as ice.' :lol:

I also love 'they hit one of us, they hit us all.' They don't all have to be funny, and it was just so true, and sad, too.

My favorite one isn't on the list, but it's the one where Frank says, "Divorce sucks." and H replies, "It's a killer." That just really cracks me up! I can't remember what ep it's from.

That was Nailed which was episode 8 in season four. I should know I watch it enough because of it being one of Togo's best episodes.

A Horrible Mind's Up a Tree, that line was too, funny!

Money For Nothing's They Never Listen, that was one of the best in my opinion. That man swore he was gonna kill H. and get away with it. Ha! And DID YOU GUYS KNOW THAT'S ONE OF DAVID CARUSO'S FAV ONE LINERS? THE OTHER IS 'WE, NEVER, CLOSE'

Thanks. Weird how I don't remember it being from Nailed. I thought it was from some other episode. I like Nailed because of the conversation between Horatio and Rick, but I like Ryan, too.

Okay, my favorite wasn't on the list. I think it's from Blood Brothers, well the first episode we saw Clavo Cruz.

Perhaps I should stick the 'We never close' line in the next poll. It wasn't a 'beginning of episode one-liner' but still just as memorable and seems to deserve a vote.
