However you want to do it is up to you Rules: ~ This is an anonymous challenge, so don't go posting your icon anywhere until this round is over. ~ Your icon must not exceed 100x100px. It should be in .jpg, .png or .gif format. ~ You must use only the images provided ~ No animations will be permitted. ~ Submit your icon by sending me (Dragonfly) a PM with the subject line LIMS Round 8 or similar. ~ If you are unable to send PM's, you may use the hotmail address in my profile. Just include TalkCSI in the subject so it doesn't go in the junk folder ~ You may submit only ONE icon ~ If you wish to use your free pass for this round, you must send me a PM to let me know. ~ The deadline for submissions will be Sunday June 6th. You don't have to be an 'expert' ~ Vote for the Top 3 of least quality, and the Top 2 of best quality. ~ Votes for least quality Must have a reason, or they will not be counted. Reasons for best quality are strongly encouraged (the following examples may have been "borrowed" from other sources) Good Examples: 34: Text is oddly placed 50: Icon is over sharpened 62: Image is too blurry Poor Examples: 96: I don't like the colour (personal preference) 52: Tiny text/decorative brushes are unreadable (it's supposed to be that way) We have one person using a skip for this round *Please note that I will not accept any variation of "The icon is not framed" as a legitimate vote. Least: 06 - Aside of the frame and text, it doesn't look like much has been done to the image. 07 - It might just be my computer, but it looks overbrigtened, Flack's face is sorta beginning to merge into the background. 03 - As with the icon above, Flack's face seems to be merging into the background. Best: 04 - The text and the frame work well with the pic, great icon. 02 - Nice effect, works well with the pic. Well done.
Re: Talk LIMS #8: Challenge 8 - Voting! Man this was really hard!! Least 07. Flack's face is really washed out as the saturation seems off. Despite the brightness of Flack the icon itself seems dark. 05. The icon is too bright, and the crop doesn't seem very effective. 03. The text? brush? is distracting and doesn't lend any balance to the icon. Flack's face is rather bright which gets lost in the whiteness of the overall icon. Best 02. Great colouring and use of grunge textures in the negative space. The crop works really well. 08. Text is well placed and effective at making the white frame stand out. The crop is good and colouring well balanced.
Re: Talk LIMS #8: Challenge 8 Least 06 - except for the frame and the text, it doesn't seem much has been done on Flack's cap. 10 - while the frame is quite good, the coloring is rather distracting. It's too orange and it makes Flack's tie seem orange when it actually is brown. 03 - the coloring is quite good (though a little too bright) and the icon would have been much nicer without that brush (???) which is rather distracting. Best 09 - great coloring and I love your way of using the negative space 04 - the frame and the text match perfectly with the context of the icon. Also the coloring is great.

Least (this is so hard) 10 - The coloring seems a bit odd. 08 - Text is hard to read. 03 - Not sure what the text/brush is, and because of that it takes away from the icon overall. Best 05 - Love the coloring and the frame...caught my eye immediately. 01 - Clever!
