Re: Speed/Rory #17: 'Just Because You Can't See Something..'
I loved that scene in "Invasion" where Speed's like "Now what do I do?" That's what I miss about this show, the levity and humor (I think it came back a bit in last night's episode, actually, but it's never been near where it was when Speed was alive.)
One of my all-time favorite scenes is when Speed tells Cal she's "way too cheerful" in "Hurricane Anthony". Those two really did have a good vibe goin, and I loved them working together. I really liked the way she handled him in "Dispo Day" - firm but wanting to talk to him as a friend before going to H.
I really miss Speed, I think a lot of fans do....but at least we had some fun moments - loved his interaction with Delko, especially when they were on that boat sifting through garbage and Eric pulled out the rat  Also, love the way he always has a 5 o'clock shadow
Just wanted to share this, as I thought Speed fans would appreciate it:
Speed was one of the main reasons I started watching CSI:Miami - his dry wit and sarcasm brought a quirky human element that mixed well w/all the other characters.
When I was watching "Lost Son" I wasn't really "plugged in", I guess, to what was going on behind the scenes of the show. I had no idea Rory wanted to leave, but I did know one cast member was going to die. I never thought it would be Speed, though - I was actually concerned it would be Calleigh. So here I am, watching the ep., and there's a part where Eric goes diving, and I'm thinking: "oh man, here comes an alligator to eat frogman" (at that point, I wasn't a big ERic Delko fan - I thought he was kinda shallow and he was my least favorite, which is not true anymore, BTW).
Anyhow, I thought Eric was gonna bite the dust, but then there was that foreshadowing w/H - the whole, "I got plenty of time for that line." That's when I was like "Uhohh...NO WAY!" And then all of a sudden - BAM! There goes my favorite character in one of the most action-packed and emotional death scenes I've ever seen on TV.
Anyhow, I was blindsided by the whole thing, and I wasn't even sure if I wanted to continue watching Miami at that point, but I did b/c I really liked Calleigh, and Horatio too
Anyway, "Lost Son" is at the same time the best and worst episode to me - it was the worst b/c Speed died, but it was also the best b/c of the raw emotion (and fortunately they fixed the crappy way Delko reacted to Speed's death in this year's episode "Bang Bang, Your Debt).
Well, anyhow, just wanted to share that w/all you fellow Speed fans - I really miss the guy! Long live Tim Speedle! Man, I miss that guy.
