I know this comes pretty late, but I thought I ask in how many countries they show this during the christmas

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0084701/

So what day and is it annual?

Here it's shown on Christmas Eve, between 11am and noon  today it's aired at 11:33am. It has become a tradition and even my father watches it and also leads to argument, because PEOPLE WON*T SHUT UP

Yeah, the Snowman is usually on at some point over the festive period. I like it. :) In fact, having checked the tv listings, it's on this afternoon in the UK.

I've never even heard of it! And I'm usually pretty good with movies, Christmas classics, etc.

Here in Canada, growing up my family had the big three to watch every year: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, Frosty the Snowman, and The Grinch (original cartoon, not the lame Jim Carey movie). My older brother also always watched A Christmas Carol- the 1950's one with Alistair Sim.
