Banner can't be bigger than 20.0 kb. When it's bigger, animation is not working. You need to resize it.

It says its 27096 bytes in size. I don't know how many bytes equals a kilobyte. Can anyone else make it smaller in size? I don't know how to do that. It's only got the two frames, so culling it won't help. And it's the standard 220x75 size. I don't know why it ended up being too big. Is it because of how slow the animation is going?

MsCatherineBrown, did you try the first version? Maybe that one would be the right size?

I tried it by putting both pics as stills on the same frame and then just having only the words flash. If the first version I made of the banner (the one that flashes from pic to pic faster) is also too big, you can try this one:

I know it doesn't look as good this way, but I don't know what else to do. :lol: Hope this helps. Sorry about that. I don't know why when I hit properties it only tells me the size in bytes. It doesn't let me know how many kb it is.

Photbucket says this one is 16kb, so that should work.

When you have 27096 bytes, it's too big than in rules. All about the dimension. Except standard size like 220x75 we need to remember about 20.0 kb. Animated banners and icons are always "bigger" than non-animated ones. I hope it has sense. I had this problem too with my last banner.
 
But the new size is 450x100
and for that the 20KB limit is not enough, usually you always have something over that limit
just take a look at my signature, it's just a simple picture and it's over 20kb

and i have no idea why it works:confused:
 
This is what it says:
Note: The maximum size of your custom image is 450 by 100 pixels or 20.0 KB (whichever is smaller).

I have no idea, guess it was changed
 
okay, I cropped the orginal banner in Animation shop and got it down to 20kb (according to photobucket), but the size isn't 220x75 anymore. I hope it's okay. It's now 181x66.

ETA: for this special "too-big-in-the-file-size-problem" you should take a closer look on Option #2 :)

Thanks for all the help everyone. I got the side by side one GNRFan made for me to work. Which I really like by the way. So I will use it. I plan on working on getting the other to work when I have more time. Thanks agian.
