 You have entered a spoiler thread! STOP or be spoiled!

Welcome to the Season 12 Spoiler Reference Thread!

The difference between this thread and the Spoiler Discussion Thread is that here you will find just the spoilers themselves, no discussion. This makes the spoilers easier to find for those who are looking for them. There is no need to wade through all of the discussion to find them.

This thread will be closed to posts. If you have a spoiler, feel free to post it in the Spoiler Discussion Thread, and either Smokey or DJRideout will copy it to this one...with all due credit to the poster, of course! :) Or if you prefer you may just PM the spoiler to either of them.

In general, we will not post spoiler pics here (there is a thread for those) or promo videos (those can be found in the Spoiler Discussion Thread).

Please remember that spoilers are subject to change and should only be considered as a guide to what could be happening in that episode, and not what will happen. :)

If you have any problems or questions, especially about citing sources and what you can/cannot post, please do not hesitate to contact one of your friendly LV mods, Smokey or DJRideout. :)

Marg, who is currently promoting CSI in France is currently saying she'll be here for half of season 12. She also says that logically Nick should be replacing Catherine.

Beware... Translated by Google!

Eleven months a year was too much. So, I turned that 19 out of 22 episodes in season 11 and I will be present on half of the season only 12. (...) Logically Nick (George Eads) should replace me , "she reveals.
" As the end of each season, negotiations are underway between the actors of the series and CBS. (...) I hope that Marg will be with us. We will do whatever it takes to keep it. The negotiations will probably last until late May early June, we should be fixed! "says the producer

As for future serial killer plans, McGill reveals that "there's a very strong chance that Sqweegal will return next season."

There's also the possibility that Haskell could reappear again, too.

"Given that he's proven to be an arch villain who's come to us in many guises using many devices, I don't think you can ever say you've seen the end of Nate Haskell," McGill says.

Here's the link if you want to read the whole thing.

According to article posted on CSI Files...
Mendelsohn revealed that fans can expect to see a familiar nemesis during the new season. “[Season 12] will be focused a lot on the comeback of that slick, elusive and all dressed-in-latex serial killer called Sqweegel,” she said, echoing statements from fellow executive producer Don McGill. Mendelsohn added, “This character was created by Anthony Zuiker, the creator of the show, for his book Level 26.” Fans first saw the forensic-proof killer in the episode named after him,“Sqweegel”.

CSI..Will Langston ever be the same again after committing murder?

Internal Affairs won't be the only problem for Laurence Fishburne's CSI after murdering serial killer Nate Haskell, "Once Langston crosses over and accesses the violence within..stares his own demons in the face..how does he go on"?, asks exec. producer Don McGill. "This isn't just a quandry for Langston, it's a quandry for the whole team. Expect tension among the core group of CSI's as they grapple with what the evidence told them". In their hearts, I think they all knew what really happened in that house", says McGill. "Next year will be a challenge for the team to deal with the fallout, each one carries with them their own doubts, misgivings and feelings about what to what extent there is a conflict between their duties as CSI's and their obligations to a member of their family". The good news is that , for now, the entire team..including Marg Helgenberger..will be there to tackle the dilemma. "As far as I know, Marg will be back", says McGill. "Then we'll have discussions about where she wants her character to go and whether she'll be eventually leaving sometime next season"~

EXCLUSIVE: After two-and-a-half seasons, Laurence Fishburne is leaving CSI. The Oscar-nominated actor's deal on the show was up and he opted not to renew it. He is expected to return to features full-time. It was a major coup for CBS to land Fishburne as a successor to original star William Petersen who left the series in December 2008. But when he last renewed his contract for CSI last May, Fishburne only did it for one season. After ten-and-a-half seasons as CBS' Thursday 9 PM anchor, CSI is moving to Wednesday 10 PM this fall. I hear CBS and the veteran crime drama's producers were not surprised by Fishburne's decision. "Nobody expected him to be on the show for 7 years," one insider said. "He is Laurence Fishburne!". Fishburne will next be seen in Steven Soderbergh's thriller Contagion.

Breaking: Ted Danson takes over 'CSI'

http://insidetv.ew.com/2011/07/08/csi-ted-danson/

The crime scene behind the yellow tape just got a lot more interesting on CSI.
CBS is set to announce that Ted Danson will take over for Laurence Fishburne as the drama’s leading man for the show’s 12th season. Danson will play the CSI supervisor for the grave shift after heading the crime lab in Portland. He comes to the team as they are still grappling with the professional and personal fallout from last season’s take-down of serial killer, Nate Haskell.

“You can create a new character on the page, but until the perfect actor comes along and breathes life into it, it’s just words,” said executive producer Carol Mendelsohn. “We’re very excited Ted Danson came along.”
Danson — the veteran Emmy-winning TV actor who was most recently seen toking doobies with Zach Galfianakis on HBO’s Bored to Death -- replaces Fishburne, who left the series in May after CBS declined to renew his contract. Fishburne came to the drama more than two years ago in an attempt to fill the void left by William Petersen (Gil Grissom). Despite his high-profile status as a film actor, Fishburne’s presence as Dr. Raymond Langston wasn’t enough to keep CSI’s ratings strong in the wake of Peterson’s departure. The former Top 5 show finished the season with a 3.3 rating among adults 18-49, ranked No. 30.

The casting of Danson caps off an exhaustive search by CBS to find another star worthy enough to help return some luster to the aging CSI franchise. EW learned that offers went out to actors like Tony Shaloub, Robin Williams and John Lithgow before the studio landed on Danson, who’s been enjoying a career resurgence thanks to a critically-acclaimed run on Damages. He received three Emmy nominations for playing Arthur Frobisher. Danson will remain a series regular on Bored.

“From the moment we all started talking about the role, it was clear he couldn’t be more perfect,” said executive producer Don McGill. “Intelligence, wit, warmth, depth of character and emotion, he brings it all. And now he’ll have to bring latex gloves, too.”

Presumably for investigating crimes.

CSI 12.01 ''73 Seconds''

STORY LINE: A crazy, chaotic shoot-out on a hotel tram leaves two dead, almost no witnesses, and a lot of contradictory evidence; another dead man in Panaca County has a young man's face and an old man's body...

From Michael Ausiello on TVLine.

After four seasons as a recurring guest star, Jorja Fox is returning to CSI this fall as a full-fledged series regular, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.

The actress left the procedural at the start of Season 8 after appearing in only a handful of episodes. She returned for Season 9, but opted to remain a guest star until now.

The news comes as CSI is undergoing a major cast shakeup as it enters its 12th season. As previously reported, Ted Danson has replaced Laurence Fishburne as the new supervisor.

CSI is in Vegas today filming scenes.

'CSI' shooting at Golden Nugget

All roads lead back to Vegas.

Just ask the folks at CBS' "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation," which returns for its 12th-season opener, "73 Seconds."

Today's production headquarters: downtown's Golden Nugget, with scenes planned on the casino floor and in the hotel's Rush Tower.

Cast members making the Vegas trek: original regulars Marg Helgenberger and George Eads, along with returning regular Jorja Fox and newcomer Ted Danson, who takes over as "CSI's" crime lab supervisor following Laurence Fishburne's departure.

"CSI" veteran Alex Smight -- who's worked on the series as both director and editor -- directs from a script by Gavin Harris ("Cold Case").

Other planned background locations for today's "CSI" shoot: the Fremont Street Experience, plus Strip-adjacent sites on Tropicana and Hacienda avenues.

The episode is scheduled to air Sept. 21, when "CSI" moves to a new night and time slot -- 10 p.m. Wednesdays.

Created by former Las Vegan Anthony Zuiker, "CSI" continues its reign as the world's most-watched TV show, with more than 73 million viewers in 68 countries, according to the Monte Carlo TV Festival, which last month awarded the show an International Television Audience Award.

From Ausiello:

Question: What’s going on with Marg Helgenberger? Is she still planning to leave CSI this season? —Ilona

Ausiello: She’s definitely leaving towards the end of the season — and I hear she’s going to get quite the send-off.
