Promotion...*snickers to self* Perhaps HE'LL take charge of everything and everyone...Just kidding. I dunno, perhaps a CSI level even though he hates the field. Be it for me to say, but he looks rather comfortable when he does go out...even if he does complain.
He does, actually. He just does not want to be know for pulling a Sanders as he always use to say.

Hmmm, wasn't Greg supposed to get a promotion/new job last season?

The way I read it, it's more Wallace "getting a promotion" (ie, becoming a more regular member of the team), not Hodges. Perhaps he'll take over DNA, and be like Greg was in the earlier seasons (Greg did as much trace as DNA sometimes).

Hodges has said that he doesn't like field work (dirty and messy compared to the nice clean lab). He does seem to have gotten over that a few times lately though.

I think Hodges will represent the group of fans who are upset with Wendy’s departure. The perfect person to take it on would be Kacey, which the same group of fans have a hard time accepting right now. His anger and heartbreak would be directed on her as an acknowledgement to the group of fans who are frustrated. It would be cool if this goes on for a few episodes to a point where Hodges can accept Kacey for who she is and not as the person who replaced Wendy. It would also be more entertaining if she doesn’t take his behavior well, and thinks it's personal, that’s my opinion

I hope Hodges will be a strong guy and things will go well between him and Wendy..I wonder how and what she'll tell him about her departure? He was less than cool, when his idol/mentor Grissom left. So, he's got alot to deal with, and it will show Wally's stellar acting:bolian:

From Ausiello:

Question: With Liz Vassey leaving CSI, what can you tell us about the fate of Wallace Langham? —DJ
Ausiello: He's staying put. In fact, sound like he's getting a promotion. "We're focusing primarily on the core team this season, and I want to bring Hodges more into that core group," says exec producer Carol Mendelsohn, who adds that Vassey will be back in episode 2 to wrap up Wendy's story line. "I think fans will be satisfied. She will be able to say goodbye to Hodges, and Hodges will take his anger and heartbreak out on a fellow tech."

Well well... how about that... ;) If they put all the effort they should have put in onther departures in this particulary one.. it's gonna be interesting.... if this fan will be satisfied.. I don't know... it depends on what they have in mind ..(actually Liz not leaving would make this fan happy  but being realistic I have to go for second best..)

...I can't believe he answered my question! Well thank you to whoever it was that suggested asking the questions to the people that could answer them. I can't remember who it was sadly enough.

I think it was Blackflag who suggested that I should write if I was looking for more news... Fortunately you took the virtual pencil and wrote this guy (is he a guy?) ( of whom I didn't knew he existed until Blackflags suggestion )

I don't think fans are going to be "satisfied" with Wendy's exit, no matter how they wrap it up. Just another indication of how out of touch tptb are.

Official cast list and new title for episode one, courtesy of CBS:

CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION is a fast-paced drama about a team of forensic investigators trained to solve crimes by examining the evidence. They are on the case 24/7, scouring the scene, collecting the irrefutable evidence and finding the missing pieces that will solve the mystery. Catherine Willows, a hard-working single parent with a checkered past and a teenage daughter she's raising on her own, heads the team of investigators at the Crime Lab in Las Vegas, following previous leader Gil Grissom's departure. The team's other members include Dr. Raymond Langston, a former pathologist who joined the Las Vegas Crime Lab after consulting on a serial killer case; Nick Stokes, a true-blue stand-up guy who empathizes with victims via his own experiences; and Greg Sanders, the off-beat tech analyst turned field investigator. The CSI team members also work closely with Capt. Jim Brass, the former chief, now assigned to Homicide; Dr. Albert Robbins, the ever-professional medical examiner and his assistant, David Phillips; and David Hodges, a lab technician with specialties in trace and foreign-substance analysis.

Hmm, so is it the new girl or poor Henry again he takes it out on? Henry would be funnier.

What depresses me is that a few seasons ago 'a fellow tech' would mean any of them. Now it seems to be either Henry or the new maybe-tech maybe-CSI are the only choices.

*Goes back to corner to sulk more*

Carol has said that this new tech has only filmed one episode so far with the possibility of her character being recurring. Kacey may only be in one episode.

So I think we all can breathe a sigh of relief. For now anyways. :shifty:

No mention of them being the night shift which always seemed to be mentioned originally. Although I suppose 'being on the case 24/7' pretty much covers everything.
