Rodriguez: The Tension Is Building

CSI Files

Captain
Love may be in the air this season.<p><I>CSI: Miami</I>'s <font color=yellow>Adam Rodriguez</font> (Eric Delko) <A class="link" HREF="http://www.csifiles.com/news/290708_01.shtml">spoke about</a> the romantic attraction between his character and Calleigh Duquesne (<font color=yellow>Emily Procter</font>) in the fifth issue of the <A class="link" HREF="http://www.titanmagazines.com/app?service=external/Product&sp=l1075">Official CSI Magazine</a>. "Both of the characters have been there for each other when they really needed one another," he said. "There has always been a strong friendship and attraction but it has never been fully delved into."<p>According to <A class="link" HREF="http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/index.html">Watch with Kristin</a>, this might change. "The tension is building, and there's only so long we can probably wait to pounce on each other," Rodriguez said. Procter explained that her character's feelings for Eric and Jake Berkeley (<font color=yellow>Johnny Whitworth</font>) would be dealt with in upcoming episodes.<p>"In the seventh season you get to sort of watch Calleigh sort through the parts of her life she's unsure about: Here's Delko, who's a great choice for her-you know they have a lot in common. He's very loyal to her; she's very loyal to him. They've been through a lot together, and he's a kind person," she said. "And then she's got Jake, on the side, who's kind of the bad boy, and you see her being drawn to that."<p>The original information is from <A class="link" HREF="http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/watch_with_kristin/b24301_spoiler_chat_house_heroes_brothers_more.html">Watch with Kristin</a>.<center></center>

Please no more "colleague with benefits" storylines.
Men and women can work together without junping in bed together. Its called friendship.

"Between men and women there is no friendship possible. There is passion, enmity, worship, love, but no friendship." - Oscar Wilde

And yet Calleigh can't seem to find a boyfriend outside of the lab...

I'm an EC advocate, so I can't really complain. What I *will* complain about is the handling. If they turn their relationship into some form of 'sex only' 'colleagues with benefits' sort of thing, I'll be annoyed.

They have something good working here, and the writers need to either move things forward, keep the tension up or forget it. It wouldn't suit either character to simple 'mess around' with their best friend. I know Miami's not one for continuity and is renowned for pushing OOC storyline but.. still. That'd be too far.

I like where it's going right now and I hope they stick with it and treat the possibilities with the respect they deserve.
