Rerun Reviews- A Place to Review the Reruns :)

Yeah that's what i thought. See you can watch some parts on YouTube, but they're either posted by CBC, or they don't have the actual audio, only music or something of the like.

Ok, this isn't strictly a rerun, but considering that Rio only just aired here and has re-runned (haha, funny word...even though it's not a word) in America/Canada already, I'll post in here. And besides, I can't be bothered digging up the old thread anyway.

Ok, so like I said, season 5 finally premiered over here, and to be quite honest, I wasn't terribly excited. I wasn't excited before the episode and after I wasn't the least bit impressed. I know I'm probably being incredibly critical, but after season 4 I was expecting something REALLY good to make up for it. And what I saw in 'Rio' was nothing but a continuation of season 4 storylines. The whole Marisol, Riaz and Boa Vista drama was pure s4 to me. *shudders*

Ok, I wasn't liking the Brazil idea from the start. I can understand why Eric would go down there, but I don't think it was in Horatio's nature to go to a different continent for a revenge killing  And I still think it was incredibly ironic that every person they happened to encounter down there spoke English, even though Eric speaks Spanish.

And Ray Snr? Don't even get me started on that debacle, about all the time and effort to have him dead, then spend an entire season bringing him back to life, then disappear only to kill him again? i don't see the logic in that...Now I would've thought Horatio would've been a little more upset about Ray dying than he showed. The emotionless stare, followed by the equally emotionless "I love you". Riiiight. He flew to Brazil for 6 weeks to avenge his wife of less than a day, but won't show any emotion for his own brother? Again, don't see the logic in that.

And again, that line at the end to Ray Jr. "If you cross that line, theres no going back". *claps* Way to go Horatio, considering that earlier that morning he killed Riaz, which, while there was a self-defense case, the look in his eyes said that it was pure revenge.

Though I do have to say, probably one of the only parts of the episode that I actually liked (besides Yelina coming back, but that goes without saying) was Ryan yelling at Boa. Ok, since the whole mole debacle, I was seriously hoping that someone would have a go at her and Ryan did. And I was happy with that. I really was.

Ok, long story short (because frankly, I'm getting tired and running out of things to vent about) i didn't particularly like this episode. Now I know my review was somewhat critical, but thats what I honestly thought of it. I'm really hoping that the rest of season 5 is better than that. not that I'll stop watching, because I won't, but if the storylines don't remove from season 4-ishness, then many people may stop watching.

Ok, I think i'm done now *wipes brow* I apoligise to anyone I may have offended that actually liked this episode...

(Oh, and I forgot. I really hate those damn split-screens. AH! they are so annoying. But i guess I'll just have to get used to them ;))

Yes i saw that episode, one of the things that shocked me...

Yelina gave a GPR watch to her son? Holy Horatio! Like, talk about over-protective! Nah JK. Since she's a cop, people might kidnap the kid for a ransom or something. So nevermind...

But the best part of the episode of COURSE was Horatio taking the life of the basterd Riaz.

And then the showdown between H and the druglord Matos. Who's wearing white suit. Who's he trying to fool? "Oh look at me, i'm a good man, i look like an angel, don't shoot me." *sigh* Some druglords these days. And of course, Matos fires at H, but Horatio and his wicked aim take him down. Which gives us THIS awesome pic!

Already made an icon of it. :D

The split-screens ain't that bad. Sometimes they're nice! Like the cell convos! Example, the over-the-razors conversation between Clavo and Horatio. :)

Good review carlz31. :)

*waves hand* That's really not a review anyway. Kinda. Maybe. *shrugs*

Well i really don't watch 24. The show kinda bugs me. It has 2 hour specials that take up the time on Global. (peasent tv) If your going to have 2 two hours specials, make a freaking movie.

I was going to talk about another episode, but the name of it totally slipped my mind right now.

This isn't really a review but I'd really like to say that I liked "Game Over" a whole lot. Mainly cos they had Tony Hawk in it. The guy who threw the first 300!!!

The fact that they made his character lose his foot that was cool, I liked Eric's line to Alexx, "So what's the COD or do you need the foot for that too?" Had me laughing real hard. And in the end Alexx really needed the foot to determine the cause-of-death.

It was just awesome for me to see my fave sports hero skating a vert ramp on my all-time fave show.

I wasn't writing a review. I was making a reply to someone's post about the split screens.

And replying to someone's post without posting a review of your own is fine. :) As long as we're discussing the episodes in here and not chatting, it's all good.

For what it's worth, I agree...the split screens are beyond annoying.

*shrugs* You gotta learn to live with em' guys. We don't run the show. (Sadly...)

I watched Grave Young Men again today. Aw man, the first scene with Horatio and Yelina (on what look like a date) was great! Here's a LITTLE convo.

Yelina: Well this is me.
Horatio: That's right.

This part is the one that annoyed me, Horatio repeats Yelina and sounds like the cop part of him again. C'mon H! Loosen up!

And then a couple seconds later Yelina smiles this smile. Like a big beautiful smile with a shine in her eyes, and if i had a cap of it, i could put the caption 'Daddy?' in it or something. We never see her smile like that. ;)

Yelina: Everytime i wake up in the morning, i have the same thought. 'Raymond is dead'. It's just the time...this last couple weeks....it's not the first thing i think about anymore.

And then we see Horatio raise his eyebrows slightly, and smile. ;) Great part. Maybe he could of went past the 'walking her to her car' part and went to the grabbing the hips, and Yelina having her back to her car, and Horatio kissing her and- *pause* Sorry. :D Ranting.

Aw man, the suspect lady flashed Speed. I can't get enough of seeing that part! Makes me laugh everytime. Speed says he needs to take a photo of the scratches on her chest, next thing we know, BOOM. She whips off her robe, flashing Speed who turns around, the blank look on his face and, awesome touch, the camera flashes pointing to the side at nothing.

And the ending part with the silhouette of Horatio putting on his sunglasses and walking away. *sigh* It always gets the heart pumping. *dreamy look*

That's all i got for now. :)

But

I think we get that part. ;) Though, as this is a discussion forum, it's all about discussing what we like/dislike and sharing opinions. If we didn't mention things we know we can't change, there would be a distinct lack of discussion!

Anyway, the opening scene from 'Grave Young Men' is one of my favourites too. It's so heartwarming to see Horatio and Yelina relaxing outside of work. We very rarely see that with any of the characters. As for H raising his eyebrows, well, that right there spoke more than words ever could. Lovely scene. :)

Agree with you again Luce . Enjoyed that scene alot, if I might add that they were flirting? Especially H's raised eyebrows. I know we talked about this in the H/Y thread but I'll repeat it here, that the first thing Y thought of was H ;)

Like the scene with Ray Jr too. The kid was much younger then. And after his talk with Ray Jr, H and Y gave each other those knowing, no-need-for-words looks. Classic H/Y interaction.

Counted myself. Two. Two times Horatio raised his eyebrows looking straight at Yelina. The first time, on the 'date' in the beginning, and the second after Horatio's little chat with Ray Jr.

Horatio: No more fights, because it upsets your mother.
Ray Jr: *nods* Ok.
[Yelina comes into the scene and is about to get into the car]
Horatio: Good man. Good man. *stands up straight, raises his eyebrows at Yelina*
Yelina: *mouths* Thank you.

And she mouths thank you with that 'eye sex look' in her eyes. Again. Love it. Just love it. ;)

Yelina: Everytime i wake up in the morning, i have the same thought. 'Raymond is dead'. It's just the time...this last couple weeks....it's not the first thing i think about anymore.

That part also frustrates me SO much. Horatio had the perect time to kiss her. Jeez! He wants it, she wants it! She's addicted to the freaking Caine bloodline!

 I think that was what tptb intended so that people like us would stay addicted to the show waiting for H to get together with Y.

Guys...while it's perfectly ok to discuss H/Y interaction when it relates to something that actually happened on the show, seeing them relaxing outside of work during GYM for example- to use Lucy's expression-would be perfectly fine. Speculation as to whether they should have kissed or if they were really on a date or things of the like need to be discussed in the H/Y thread in Shipper Central. ;) Thanks guys!
