    Hi all,

UK CSI fan (only LV, not the spin-offs).

I have a question about season 3, episode 13 "Random Acts of Violence". At one point they bring in a suspect who Grissom names as David Artiss.

An odd name, hardly common. Indeed, from what I can tell there are only 2 people in the world with that name - an author from the US who writes books about German authors and someone from the US who writes technology blogs.

I'd be interested to know how the author (either Danny Cannon or Naren Shankar - both are credited) came up with that particular name.

BTW, I'm the second David Artiss mentioned above. With a rare name you never expect to hear it mentioned on TV (unless you end up on the news), let alone your favourite show. So, when it is, you're curious as to why it was chosen. Is it a reference to the other David Artiss and, if so, why?

    David.
