OUTLAW

Desertwind

Head of the Day Shift
This is a new show and boy was I pleasantly surprised. It stars Jimmy Smits, when isn't he good in anything he does? He's got his own brand of charm~ It was fast paced, great dialogue, great cast and great story. I highly recommend that everyone catch this new show and judge for yourself:bolian:

THE SETUP
Jimmy Smits stars as a contentedly conservative yet party-hearty Supreme Court Justice Cyrus Garza, who prematurely resigns from the bench~

THE TWIST
Garza becomes a crusading lawyer advocating justice on hot-button topics such as gay marriage and the death penalty. Smits welcomes tackling the issues:"I was looking around for a script that was about something", he says~

THE BUZZ
When exec. producer John Eisendrath describes the show as "a little bit of fantasy", he's politely admitting the premise stretches credibility more than a smidgen. A Hedonistic Supreme Court Judge sounds like more fun than a sanctimonious do-gooder, and Smits promises Garza will remian a bad boy:"He will always be gambling and womanizing, that's part of the fun of the character--that's not a flaw in his mind. He lives his life in the open and has eccentricities, and they get him in trouble down the line, and that makes for interesting drama~This will be shown again for viewers who haven't seen it I watched it on Wed, at 10:00~

The first episode he defends a guy who's been in prison for 12 years and swears he is innocent. So Garza takes on his case, and he was innocent. The perp. had threatned a eye-wittness, that went undergorund, because she was afraid for her life and her two little boys. Garza through much deep exploration, fins her, & she testifies about the real crime. Riveting, suspensful and intriguing~

Also starring Jesse Bradford, Carley Pope, David Ramsey & Ellen Woglom [I've never heard or seen any of these people, but they were all fantastic]~

Friday night on NBC at 10:00~

TV Guide~

None of them sound familiar to me either. Checked IMDB.

Jesse Bradford appeared in 9 episodes of West Wing as Ryan Pierce (2003-2004) as well as several motion pictures and TV movies.

Carley Pope was in episodes of 24, Dirt, and The Collector.

David Ramsey has been in episodes of Ghost Whisperer, Dexter, Wildfire, West Wing, as well as an episode of CSI (Burn Out, season 7 episode 6).

Ellen Woglom was in Crash, Californication, and an episode of CSI New York (Zoo York, season 2 episode 3).

Note: Tonight's episode is a rerun of the pilot shown Wednesday night.

Thank's Dynamo1 Mr. Info:eek: I think you and all who watch this will be delighted, oh and on info. I looked up Jimmy Smits heritage, and he's half Dutch and half Puerto Rican, I never knew that. He's so professional and so prestigious and convincing in this new role, another remarkable actor:thumbsup:

From the latest TV Guide dated Sept. 27-Oct.3, A letter from a reader~

They've done it again! My two favorite guys will be on at the same time this fall:Tom Selleck "Blue Bloods", and Jimmy Smits in"Outlaw". C'est la vie! No choice but to choose, still it makes me sad

Uh, have you heard of a DVR or the old VHS tapes, I do this all the time, watch one and record the other.. problem solved:rolleyes:

Not necessairly, I don't have a DVR, but I have a recorder that has both Disc and VHS, but I also have Directv, which means unless you have the DVR (which I can't afford considering what I am paying now for second tier package) you can not record one and watch the other. If you try to record and switch channels to watch the other, you will end up recording the one you flipped to. So it could be that the person doesn't or can't afford a DVR and may have a cable or satellite that doesn't allow it like mine. Just something to consider. :)

I'm thrilled that I have this option, one of the best investments ever.. I get a package deal through Time Warner, Internet, TV, DVR, and phone all for $120 per month.. it's awesome and so easy to use. But I did still tape the S/10 CSI's on my old VHS tapes:rolleyes:, and can't wait till it comes out on DVD. I guess some don't or can't so that's a bummer. I'm just glad I have mine.. and BTW this new show came in at #8 in this weeks ratings:bolian:

So far to me this is the best new show out there, everyone has their own opinion, but it's really good. It's opposite "Blue Bloods" which I also have to catch, Tom Selleck after all:p DVR's are so wonderful to have. I recommend that you all try to catch this show:bolian:

Another great episode, this one in Arizona and featured 'racial profling' with a white cop and a Mexcan , [he thought an illegal, but wasn't] so Garza [Jimmy Smits] decided to defend the cop. And later it showed a video that caught the whole incident on tape. And the Mexican was in the wrong. Also the internal turmoil between Garza and his team mate. He strongly disagreed with him and said he was leaving. We'll see about that. Really good show:bolian:

This is my total favorite new show without a doubt, Jimmy Smits is incredible, and I'm not romatically attracted to him but am towards his stellar acting. The whole team in this are great, I hope it continues, it's soo good~

Garza defends a mother who accidently killed her baby by leaving it in a hot car, [shades of "Feeling The Heat"]

TV Guide Sept. 27-Oct.3~

This episode had many twists and turns, did the mom leave the baby in the car for 6 hours, cause' she didn't realize the baby was in the car, or on purpose, because she didn't want the baby? The actress who portrayed her was in deep shock and she came across as cold hearted, but Garza proved she was also a victim and put her on the stand, where she broke down and sobbed. THey found her innocent of all charges of neglect and harm. Jimmy Smits and his team are so good in this~

A car manufacturer's cover-up involves faulty tire rods that cause accdents. Garza [Jimmy Smits] takes the case

TV Guide~

Another stellar episode, over the top. Jimmy Smits is fabulous. This was pertaining to some faulty tie-rods on a car [the company called Jupiter] and how the team proved they were in fact liable for these horrible accidents. Garza's house was broken into, to find eveidence he had against the company. The CEO [he played in "Butterlfied"] was such a snake. One poor victim who was critcally burned and then died was offered $10 millon, never to talk about the accident but he died, so the offer was off the table. Garza and the team were outraged and proved they were at fault, and he did get the $$$. Such good acting and riveting story lines. Garza is a drinker, a womanizer and a big gambler but still gets his cases right:bolian:
