I think considering the quality of the original image, the icon looks really great with the amount of coloring and clarity it has. I might have made it a bit brighter (although I dont know how much that would wash out the brighter parts of the icon so it's best left up to judgement), but otherwise, I think it works well. The crop is really nice too.

I was playing around with a few pictures today so here are some nature icons:
