Chapter 9
Natalia layed on the bed with her face flat in the pillow, bawling and sobbing her eyes out. She sniffed every few seconds and then began to cry again.
"Where is he! He was supposed to be home hours ago! Does he even know that he has a freakin family?" She wailed miserably to herself.
"What kind of father forgets to pick up their child?"
As she said that, she heard the bedroom door creak open, and saw a tall shadow-and she instantly knew it was Eric.
"Go away." She sobbed.
"Baby, I'm so sorry I forgot to pick Aiden up from my moms house! It really slipped my mind, plus I was just so busy at work that I lost track of time. You know I would never EVER do that on purpose!" Eric said sympathetically as he sat down beside her on the bed.
"Id like to believe that." She mumbled as she rolled over, and put her back towards him.
"What? What do you mean?" He asked sounding a little confused and hurt.
He wiped a lock of hair out of her face, and she swatted his hand away.
He sighed miserably, after a few moments, as she didnt answer his question.
"Listen Nat, you have got to know that there is no other place in this world Id rather be, then here with you and the kids." He said reassuringly.
"Yeah, well, why are you never here then?" She shot back with gritted teeth. She buried her head in her pillow as more tears rolled down her face.
"Because, I work. I have to support this family you know."
"I know, I just, want you all to myself, all the time." She said between sobs.
"Baby, dont cry anymore! Please." Eric begged as he layed down next to her and wrapped his arms around her from behind.
"I need you." He whispered after a few moments of snuggling.
"And I need you to be around." She whispered in reply, as Eric kissed her cheek softly.
They both layed there for a couple of minutes, just enjoying each others warm embrace, and the feeling of being so close.
"Oh crap! I forgot about the kids snacks!" Natalia screeched, as she suddenly sat up and got ready too leap out of the bed.
"Dont worry, I've already fed them dinner." Eric replied as he sat up and grabbed her elbow.
"And right now, theyre watching The Lion King, which gives us a lot of time to ourselves." He added as he raised his eyebrows flirtatiously.
"What! Delko! You couldnt possibly be thinking about MORE kids at a time like this!" She laughed as she gently poked his belly.
"I sware that's all you think about!" Natalia said as she crossed her arms.
"Yea it is cause you're just so sexy when it comes to that!" He laughed as he pulled her down towards the bed.
"Eriiic! Theyre gonna hear us! And then theyll be haunted for the rest of
their lives." She wailed.
"Oh, but I wanna make babies!" He joked as he kissed her neck.
"Yeah, ok, you feed it, clean it, burp it, put it to sleep, play with it, get vomited on twenty four seven and get pooped on like everyday, THEN we can have more children!" She looked at him and smiled.
"Uh, maybe we should make babies later?" He suggested with an innocent smile.
"Lets go and watch The Lion King now!" He scooped Natalia up into his arms and carried her downstairs into the lounge room, like a princess.
"Hey daddy! You missed our favorite part. You know, when Simba and Nala sing I just cant wait to be King? You know that part? Daddy, daddy are
you listening?" Avery said excitedly, as she hopped off the couch and started to jump around in front of him like a lunatic.
"Did I miss that part? Aw crap!" Eric replied as he placed Natalia down onto her feet.
"Yea you did! And I had to sing it all by myself cause Adrianne didnt want to sing with me!" She pouted.
"Thats cause you sing like a donkey in labor!" Adrianne yelled from the couch.
"No I dont! DADDY! Make her stop!" Avery cried as she stomped her little feet.
Eric gave Adrianne a look.
"Come on Adrianne, dont be mean." He said as he sat down on the couch next to her, and Avery jumped up onto his lap.
Aiden was sitting in the corner of the room, facing the couch and playing with his legos. As Natalia sat down on the only empty spot on the couch, he screamed in horror.
"MOMMY! Dont sit there! Move, move, MOVE!" He screamed as he broke out into to tears. Natalia quickly jumped up and looked back onto the
couch where she had been sitting.
"Aiden what's wrong? What did I do?" She asked feeling very confused.
"You sat on Clive!" He sniffed.
"What, whos Clive?" Eric asked, as he wrapped his arms around Avery,
who was watching The Lion King like Adrianne.
"Daddy! You're going to hurt his feeling!" Aiden squealed as his face went red, and he began to sob again.
"He's Aidens imaginary friend." Adrianne mumbled as she kept her eyes on the TV screen.
"Oh." Natalia and Eric said at the same time.
"Yea! And you sat on him mommy!" He said as he wiped his teary eyes.
"I'm sorry Aiden. I just didnt, uh, see Clive. Come give mommy a hug!"
Natalia smiled, as she squatted down to his height, and opened her arms. Suddenly a big smile came across his face as he raced up into his mothers arms. She stood up, with him still clinging onto her.
"Is Clive still sitting on the couch?" She asked, as she kissed his warm cheek.
"No, you scared him off." Aiden replied, as he began to play with her hair.
"Alrighty." She said as she sat down on the couch again, with Aiden in her lap.
"I don't like it when you and daddy fight." He said randomly after a few moments of watching The Lion King.
"We try not to fight, it just happens sometimes." She whispered to him, hopping Eric wouldnt hear.
"It happens a lot." Aiden said quietly to himself as he closed his and slowly fell asleep to the sound of Simbas voice, and the feeling of Natalias warm breath on his neck.
Let me know what you think!
