New Actor To Join The Cast Of 'CSI'?

CSI Files

Captain
Big changes are coming to Las Vegas next season, with the possible reunion of the former night shift, and the hiring of a new CSI.

According to U Daily News, CSI casting directors are currently looking at Latino males in their late 20s/early 30s to possibly join the show full-time. Though it is not yet known if the new actor will be joining the team as a new CSI or as a lab technician, the website seems certain that the new character will be indeed working on the field.

The opening credits of CSI are already looking cluttered and might see a new addition for season 6th. It was reported earlier this year that actor Wallace Langham (David Hodges) will be joining the show full-time and will receive a permanent spot in the opening credits (news). With the exception of Jorja Fox (Sara Sidle), the show's powers that be have never given an actor star billing without making their characters recurring first.

The show also saw the hiring of a new CSI this season, with the addition of Louise Lombard (Sofia Curtis) to the cast. Though Lombard is not in the opening credits, producers have not discarded the possibility of bringing the actress back during season 6. Lombard's appearances on the show waned as the season progressed, given that the actress is currently expecting her first child. Though it hasn't been confirmed yet, the new character might be hired to take Curtis's place if the actress decides to become a stay-at-home mom.

Oh dear goodness no... Please, just leave the show alone already! We don't need new characters, and like they said in the article, it's already cluttered enough. Even now the regulars are vying for more screen time as it is. The show is great the way it is, good news about the shifts rejoining again, but please, stop messing with a good thing!!

Please, I beg of you, don't add another character...I can only see the show going downhill from there....

My guess is it'll be a new lab tech or maybe a detective. I mean, I honestly don't see the need for a new character. And male? If anything, what they need is another woman. I'm happy with Sofia, though.

However, a part of me is happy that Latino actors are getting jobs in Hollywood.

We'll have to wait and see, seeing as there's practically no information out there.

AMEN to that LabRat!

Geez you´d think they´d learnt something from adding Sofia. Alas no such luck.

Does this mean each character will get maximum of 3 minutes screentime each ep of S6? I mean some of the stars are already ridiculously shortchanged. This could only hurt the show!

*faints* Please. Not another CSI! I'm interested in seeing another Latino character, but I hope he or she is a detective or a lab tech. Or even someone in a related field who would interact with the CSIs. That said, I hope the character is just recurring. We have enough regular cast members fighting for air time.

Do they seriously need to replace LL's character if she decides to not return to the show right away? (or even later in the season) No, they don't. There. Sophia's a good charcter to keep, whether she returns or not. They did make it seem as if she was going to leave for good too, so please, don't replace her if she doesn't return. And if she does return, don't you think it's overkill with 9 CSIs?!

And I don't know how they're going to put in another field agent, especially if they're rejoining the graveyard shift. That would be 7 main charcters that we'd get airtime for. I mean, there's a lot now, since we haven't seen the team together with Greg because he was newly added to the field team.

As good a thought as it is, it just doesn't make any sense at this point. I don't see any of the CSI shows even needing a new member anyway...

^^
Yes, exactly. I like the show just the way it is. It's doing so good, why would you want to change it. I think I would have a hard time adjusting to a new CSI.

You'd think if they were going to add a new character, they'd add them into one of the other CSI shows, where there are less main characters vying for time on screen. CSI has enough people already.

I agree with everyone. CSI is looking way too crowded already, there's little room for character development. Sometimes, it just seems downright confusing. *Sigh*. I'm happy with Sophia too, so they should leave it just like that.

OH great..now less room for the other five.it's already too crowded..I'm not happy about this..are they looking to fire any of the others..

You know it just goes to show..that these guys do not care about what we think..only about money..

I don't want another character to the show..alltheir going to do is put less time into the others..and we see little of Nick, Warrick and Sarah already..if I don't like the show by the fourth episode..I'm out of there!!Adios CSI

To the writers, producers, and executives of CSI..you guys are morons!

To the writers, producers, and executives of CSI..why are you always trying to fix something that is not broke. You say this is a foresnics show..this is also a people. We love the characters already..stop meddling with it..

Well, it still a rumour guys... keep your faith alive. After seeing how many people watch "Grave Danger" compare with "Spark of Life" for example, surely the writers know that people are watching THE PEOPLE (THE CHARACTERS) not only the science...

As Grissom said once, "There is no Lab without THE PEOPLE"

all rumors has a little truth behind it though...

my opinion...KEEP THE SHOW AS IS. and...i think they should add Wally to the opening credits if he WILL be in every single episode for next season...if not, then they shouldn`t.
